Something There...

Suddha looked up at Ren as he approached her, listening to his words. The placement of his big warm hands on her little cold ones made her face flush periwinkle again. Fifteen years; starved of all touch or physical signs of affection. Fifteen years; Isolated from the Universe and all it’s inhabitants. These kind gestures should have overwhelmed the little dheer much more than they had. The little star maiden figured that this human wanted to make her feel comfortable as she noted that he hadn’t put his helmet back on. For a second she didn’t seem upset yet not as perky as usual. She was pondering, trying to figure out Ren. He was such a mystery to her! A very nice one at that. Though when he mentioned chocolate she perked up completely! Oh she loved chocolate so much! “Chocolate?!” The dheer squealed excitedly, bouncing in her excitement. “Can I have the muffins Lo Ren?” Suddha inquired looking up at the Knight to see perhaps what his reaction was. Gently she squeezed his hand somewhat debating the reality of this situation. Here she had made a new friend, but perhaps it was all a dream? Then she would wake back up in her tower, completely alone again. But if this was a dream Suddha didn’t want to wake up.

“Uhm.. of course you can. You can have as many as you’d like to.“ Ren was a bit surprised by her reaction but none the less he found it cheering him up. His face looked soft and warm with the light shade of red flushing his cheeks. He looked so calm but his real demeanor was quite the opposite. Was he doing this right? Like Suddha, Ren was a bit touch-starved. But not as much as Suddha but around here people don’t usually hold hands. The warmth invading his chest was new and a little shocking. None the less he gulped down any lumps in his throat and decided to carry on as if this was a normal day. The only thing different would be that he’d leave without his helmet and that he’d hold onto Suddha. All of that didn’t seem so scary or hard at all.. “Let’s go get you those muffins right now.” He suggested as he gently led her towards the door. Before the door opened Ren looked one last time over his room to make sure he wasn’t forgetting anything. His eyes staying stuck on his helmet before he blinked and moved to walk out the door. He could do this.

Suddha noticed that Ren seemed a little nervous so in an attempt to comfort him she gave his hand a little squeeze and smiled up at him. And when they left there were definitely eyes on them but Suddha didn’t seem to mind. This is what being friends looked like to her. Mostly higher ranking officials, as most storm troopers were TERRIFIED to even look in Kyle Ren’s direction. Except one. That G-N19 was pretty fearless when it came to talking to all of the Knights of Ren. Maybe this was because he worked with Knight Cronin. Or maybe this was because he was in love with Knight Cronin. Unfortunately when they arrived at the cafeteria, Hux was standing at Kylo’s usual table. There was a very displeased look in his eyes, and his aura was an intense mess of rage. “Ren! I thought I had asked you to come down earlier. What took you so-” The General was so focused on the Knight and his being late that he didn’t really notice the star-maiden, then he cut himself off when he did. “What is that?” Armitage inquired, quirking an eyebrow at the little dheer. Suddha at this point was trying to hide behind Kylo, due to the intense aura of Hux. Her fawn-like ears were lowered like a little kitten who was upset and she seemed a little skittish at the moment.

Ren’s mind was buzzing. Reaching out with the force touch with everyone’s mind to see what they were thinking. Everyone at this point had the right idea to not even pay attention to him as he stalked down the corridor with the little Dheer beside him. Though if he caught one with a fowl idea or some rotten judgment Ren would be sure to glare in their direction. Eventually this walk began to feel more comfortable. His hand resting more easily into Suddha’s and every so often he would seek for her comfort with a soft squeeze of her hand or his fingers slipping in between hers to intertwine together. When he got to the cafeteria he was surprised to go and find that Hux was there. There was a soft grunt sound and Ren’s nose scrunched up slightly. When they stood before the General he let out a soft sigh. Quickly he took notice of how Suddha seemed to sink behind him and duck his head. He made sure to still hold onto her soft hand in hopes of giving her comfort.

“This is Suddha, she’s from that ship we pulled in. Her vessel was trashed and her crewmembers were slain and she’s the only one left from the ship.” As he spoke Ren made sure to keep his chin up high. His voice was firm “I brought her here to eat some breakfast.” the Knight moved forward as if to assert his spot at this table. He made sure to gently lead Suddha behind him. "I'm sorry about not being here as early as you would have liked but I've already promised the nurses in medbay and Suddha herself that I would take care of her and maybe give her a tour." If it wasn't obvious by now it was clear that Kylo seemed verg protective over this little lady.

Please reblog this if you’re totally cool with writing with writers who don’t feel comfortable with writing smut.

Not because they’re underage, but because they are of age and don’t really have a taste for smut or generally just are bored with it, or they mainly want to focus on other things pertaining a relationship between two characters.

I had this stupid thought last night about butterfly enthusiast hux hunting for new specimens to pin to his board and while in hot pursuit he stumbles across this weird kid sitting alone in the woods.

“You did it again…” Kylo murmured but he had a soft smile on his face. With his warm embrace Ren out his arm around her and rested his head a top of hers. The thought of how she would react bothered him at first but in his heart something told him this was right. “I like that you aren’t lethal. It doesn’t suit you. If anything I think that somebody cute like you shouldn’t be bothered with things like the Force or the haunting question of being a good or bad guy.” He paused to think “It’s okay if you aren’t as dark as some of the people on this ship. If anything I envy you. Sometimes it’s good to have a few lights in something so dark. Light brings comfort.”

He seemed to have a distant look in his brown eyes as he relived moments of his childhood. When he had light in him. But he blinked and brought himself back “As for Snoke…I don’t think he knows that much about you. At least he doesn’t know completely about you. I’ve mentioned you once or twice and I admit that he wasn’t 100% found of the idea that I’m devoting some of my time to help you grow. But…I don’t really care. Especially not now and I get to close to you…”

Ren shifted so that they were forehead to forehead and Ren was meeting her gaze. “I personally don’t think you should change at all. Maybe we could get a few skills going with your talent and of course a few defenses but…I don’t want you to get darker. I like you how you are. Insecurities, flaws, edges….I like it all.” He blinks when there is noise by the door. Maybe not audible but he can sense it. “The food is here…” he commented “I’ll get it.”

“I’m…not that cute. I’m weird looking, I know. Scary to some. That’s why I have to ask that question. People have treated me like a monster so long I started to believe there was something wrong with me.” She shrugs, as if that’s just the way the galaxy was.

She frowned though. “How can you envy me? You try so hard to snuff out that light in yourself, it must not be a good thing. I want to be like you some day, so in time I can be as focused as you. I envy you a lot, actually. It seems to flow so freely in you.”

She had to squash a wave of sadness that rolled in her. “I just don’t want to get you in trouble. Or distract you from what’s important.”

“Are you…are you sure?” She was mostly insecurities, flaws, and edges, if she was honest with herself. He was so close, and her eyes flitted down to his lips as he spoke, not actually hearing it. Then he pulled away.

“Oh, yes…the food…”

Ren frowned at her words but said nothing. This seemed to happen a lot when he tried hanging out with people. Things always got gloomy somehow in someway. He stood up slowly before he went towards the door. It was Droid as expected and quietly he took care of things. Paying for the food himself, sighing the digital copy of his receipt before he got the food and brought things back inside.

“Let’s talk about something else, yeah? Wouldn’t be a little silly for this date to just be full of pouty faces and self doubt.” Ren was joking and he hoped Marli caught on. Setting the food on the table in front of them. “Have you had any time with other people? Like do you talk with the General at all? Maybe even the Captain?” He asks curiously as he looks over to her for a moment before focusing his attention back in the food.

She felt like she was messing this all up. Ren seemed glum at best, and she was sure she wasn’t helping the mood in the room at all. Ugh, how could anyone stand her?

He came back from the door with the food, and Marli tried to rearrange her thoughts enough to not seem like she was berating herself, even though she was.

“Yeah, that would be…pretty uncomfortable.” She knew he was joking, but still felt guilty. Every thought she had, she second guessed, afraid of messing everything up more than she felt she had.

She knew this feeling, this negative spiral she fell into sometimes, and she just wanted to climb out of it, but her mind kept kicking her back in whenever she could crawl up the sides.

“I, um…I don’t leave my quarters a lot, actually. Except to see you or to get work done. The crew whispers, and I’m not upset that’s totally their right…but it reminds me of the past and I can’t deal with it yet. I’ve seen the General in person a few times, passing by. But I don’t think he sees me. I’ve never met the Captain, though, or seen her.”

She hated the way that all sounded, like she was some terrified shut-in.

"Mn." Ren said with his eyebrows furrowing. He'll find those crew members and give them something to talk about with their friends...

"I think you would like the Captain. She's intimidating but once you get to talk to the woman behind that mask she's very caring. She's also a great work out partner." He smiled to her as he arranged the food so they had their dishes. "As for the General..." Ren thought for a moment "He can be pretty mean sometimes but...he can also be pretty helpful when you need some determination, I suppose. He doesn't always use the right words or show any clear emotion. But...there's a heart in there..."
