It’s a small mission, but still only my second. I look at Sophia at my side, leading this one. I try to follow her footsteps, failing to be as silent as she is, but doing okay. Stupid branches, I curse as they make marks on my arms. Sophia’s eyes show nothing but concentration, but they soften when she offers me an encouraging smile. ‘I’m proud of you’, I want to tell her through my thoughts. Sometimes I wish I could do that. I take a look over my shoulder to the others. We’re only with four, as we hope we can get in and out without being noticed. Ray speeds up to be by my side, a reassuring feeling. He’ll protect me, I tell my nerves. It’s supposed to be a piece of cake, and the others now it. Ginny doesn’t look nervous at all, though she never really seemed to be, not even after I knocked her out with my calculus book back in the Palace. That seems so long ago…

Another week passed, the attack was established a success, families were fed with the supplies, and rebels were going through the perceived documents. I wouldn’t be surprised if Sophia would be promoted soon too. Mila is still in the Selection, and she said she was having a good time with Haiden. He better be nice, I think, mentally planning another attack on the palace if he wasn’t. Mila wasn’t feeling well though, and I hope to receive a call from her soon, in which she would tell me the doctor’s results. Gosh I hope she’s okay, I hope Haiden can help her now that we aren’t there. Would he finally open up somewhat? If so, I am glad it’s with Mila, of all the 35- I mean 34 girls. They could understand each other, after Mila had some trouble with the alcohol herself, and Haiden seems to have his own problems. Man, did I dodge a bullet there! Ha! That’s funny see, because of the rebel thing? If I didn’t have a grin on my face already, it would have appeared now at my own joke. But I don’t need it so be smiling, because I am walking towards Ray.
