About the absence of Clarke and Bellamy
Episode 709 was the first time I really felt how much Season 7 was suffering without the continued and central presence of Clarke and Bellamy. Although there are other intriguing characters in the story, Clarke and Bellamy are the engines that keep the train going. So if anyone has ever wondered about their value to the narrative as a whole, they can stop. Because it’s proven itself to be vital.
And I’m not talking about Bellarke, by the way, because that’s a whole separate thing. I’m talking not only about how they relate to each other, but also how they interact with all the other characters. Those interactions give an energy and a depth to the story that lately has felt, in some cases, sadly lacking.
So while I completely understand that their absence was driven by a situation that was external and unavoidabie, I really hope that when we return from this mini-hiatus, that will signal the end to the “Bellamy and Clarke hiatus” as well.
