33. He/him.. Naturalist. Spirit worker. Ocean lover. Venerates prehistoric fish ancestors. Does witchcraft with invasive species. Talks to dead things and is pretty sure they talk back. Call me Bear.

DOGE just froze funding to vital Federal and Indigenous conservation programs devoted to supporting the very delicate and tenuous existence of the black-footed ferret.

I fell in love with these animals as a kid traveling to our National Parks. Their rarity and ferocity made me sharply aware, even as a child, of just how much of a responsibility we have toward our environment. I can't bear the thought of them being a fucking casualty of Trump and Musk.

Look at them! They do war dances.

Okay I don't want to end this on doom and gloom, so I'm also going to add that the Buffalo Nations Grasslands Alliance was one of the indigenous-lead organizations who were supposed to receive a $1.1 million dollar grant that has since been frozen. But they do have a website and they do accept donations.

They are currently doing an emergency fundraiser!! Buffalo Nations Grasslands Alliance (BNGA) is raising $50,000 in emergency funds to support Tribal efforts to recover black-footed ferrets

They are 34% to their goal with 11 days left!

43%! Come on y'all!

Accidentally made some lesbian flag rolags

I was going for "beautiful sunrise" but I guess I'll take "hnnng girl priddy"

Absolutely obsessed with my newest pair of earrings and I think you should be too

Have you ever seen the Bornean bearded pig (Sus barbatus)? This bewhiskered swine inhabits rainforests and mangroves in parts of Southeast Asia, where it uses its long snout to dig up snacks like earthworms and roots. It’s often found in small groups, but sometimes gathers for mass migrations—during which more than a hundred bearded pigs can be spotted crossing rivers in search of fruit. This critter has the leanest torso and longest head of all living pigs.

Thought about wearing my old high school ring as daily wear again, because it's pretty and has the potential to spark conversations.

Had a brief moment of anxiety and "what if I chip the stone I'll hate myself forever how hard is this stone" and it was as I was googling the Mohs hardness of onyx that I remembered that I wore this ring daily for three years straight and didn't damage it beyond scuffing the band

If this ring survived my idiot teenage chaos, it can survive my idiot adult chaos.

we need to slow down a little I'm so serious. all these quick short videos on tiktok, ig reels, and youtube, artists releasing quick little songs for the trend, tv shows releasing episodes at once, people using chat gpt and google ai overview because they get answers quickly but no validation done for the source, we need to sloww downn i really do not think our brains should be running this fast

Sorry to break it to you but you literally have to face your fears and slaughter them. Otherwise you will live a small life that you do not want. You literally have to view your biggest fears and attack them head on. You have to fall into the abyss to find your way out. The easy path does not exist. There is no get out of jail free card. You have to allow yourself to die a spiritual death over and over again in order to reinvent yourself into the person you are actually supposed to be. And you have to be painfully honest with yourself and the people around you. It’s horrible but it’s truly the only way.

everything in this painting is something that black bears eat in the fall in new york state! acorns, beechnuts, blackberries, huckleberries, brook trout, honey!

If you're in the US military or National Guard, and are given an illegal or unconstitutional order, the GI Rights hotline (1-877-447-4487) is there to help give you the support you need to do the right thing by refusing it. It would be good to think about this now before it becomes a live issue for you and it would be smart of you to memorize that number.

You can reblog this without your thoughts about the US Military, btw, that's allowed.
