this is a consumer rights movement looking to establish legislation regarding companies shutting down paid video games. the general idea is that a game you purchased should have an end-of-life plan to keep it playable in some form after its servers shut down (such as by making server software publicly available).

(there's an FAQ addressing edge cases you might think of!) depending on your location there's a variety of ways you can contribute, such as by signing a petition or contacting a representative. you can also spread awareness by sharing Ross's videos or posts like this one. please consider helping! this is important both for your rights as a consumer and for video game preservation!

So I had this elaborate dream that everyone on the planet had at some point been forced to sleep at my friends house, and the situation with the cushions separating was a single common experience that every living human had. And world peace was achieved through a movement called “push them together,” accompanied by a motion like pressing your open hands together as if to pray. Rock stars were doing it on stage, politicians were signing historic peace accords and doing the “push them together” motion, it saved the whole world
