Snow Glass Apples is a retelling of Snow White by Neil Gaiman. In it the Evil Step Mother is actually good and be tormented by a 6 year old Snow White who is a succubus… I had the graphic novel recommended to me… I had no idea it would show the 16 year old queen having sex with the king and then a 12 year old Snow White having sex with a balding monk who she kills…

I thought there would be an actual story not this child was born evil and then raped/ drained the life essence out of her dad at 6 years old… which they did not show in the graphic novel… so disappointed and sad. I hate rape culture.

Here is Neil Gaiman tweeting about how a man in Russia should not be jailed for having child porn because it’s illustrations in a comic not using real children… which makes allot of sense considering his graphic novel Snow Glass Apple has child porn in it.

I tried reading so many reviews of Snow Glass Apples and only a few people found the pedophilia/ drawings of a 12 year old character having sex problematic :/ I hate this world…

How inappropriate that relationship was definitely went over my head when I read it as a 13 year old girl. But I guess that's the point and the problem with pedophile culture/media. It normalizes predatory behavior - both to bystanders and potential victims. When a piece of popular media portrays that kind of relationship as acceptable, it's like a mass grooming.

the structure of female vocal chords does not account for the degree to which their voices tend to be higher than male vocal chords, indicating that socialization causes women to speak with higher voices than they might otherwise be naturally physically inclined. both males and females tend to raise the pitch of their voices when trying to appease or feeling helpless, and both tend to lower the pitch when assuming authority. both sexes also tend to subconsciously respect those with lower voices over those with higher voices. so stop talking like a baby today, ladies. it's a fucked up habit that's been taught to you to reinforce a lower standing in society.

I think about this a lot. the gap between male and female pitch varies by culture. even when multilingual women switch languages their pitch changes (mine included). thinking about Japanese women who sound like children at all times. it's a cultural phenomenon. I want to set them free.

First of all, we are not supposed to call it a "women's college," we have to call it a "historically women's college" to avoid offending TIFs. and boy are there a lot of TIFs. Most people I know from school at the very least use she/they. The women who ID as male are especially detrimental, as they do that thing where they compensate for their insecurity over gender by being misogynistic.

TIMs were relatively rare when I started, but are increasingly common. Many of them barely pass. They share rooms and bathrooms with us.

Gender ideology is rampant. Women's studies is now called "study of women and gender." On one of my first days, when all the professors told us first years about their classes I asked if any of these study of women and gender courses were specifically about women. The professor said that no they are not. In classes, clubs, and other aspects "q*eer and trans folks" are centered.

Obviously radical feminists who do speak up are subjected to horrible treatment. A friend simply posted on her insta story that it should be called a women's college (as opposed to a historically women's college) and she lost many friends and even had to fear for her safety. She told me that she almost got pushed down the stairs

This is just the tip of the iceberg but overall the sense of sisterhood, safety, and hardcore feminism has vanished. It was not the experience I was hoping for when I applied. My school used to produce many prominent feminist activists but now the feminism is watered down and put behind gender ideology. Its really sad what it has become.

All this being said, I would still encourage women to look into women's colleges, especially if you are a woman in STEM. Studies show that women learn better in single sex environments and despite many women ID'ing otherwise, the vast majority of students are still women. I was a STEM major and it was so much nicer to be surrounded by women in a setting that would usually be dominated by men. Additionally, many of the women's colleges in America (namely the seven sisters) are very prestigious, up there with the top co-ed liberal arts colleges so if you can get in and afford it definitely consider going!

ok so, this is INCREDIBLY COOL and could save a lot of lives.

Ti note: :has() is a new css feature (and weirdly enough, as new as it is, Ao3 allows it in skins!!) and it’s still being implemented across browsers. it works on my safari iphone, I didn’t manage to make it work on chrome (but from what I’m reading it’s available in the beta branch), and I haven’t tried it in other browsers.

but it’s definitely worth a check if it works on your device!

it works fine on safari both on mac and on iphone

on chrome it works in the beta pre-release version. They are going to be shipping it in the next version (105, which should go out at the end of the month.) but you can also enable it by going here: chrome://flags/#enable-experimental-web-platform-features and select ‘enabled’ to the Experimental Web Platform features

on edge and opera it is scheduled in the pre-release version. still in development. it will come eventually.

on Firefox you’ll need to go in the advanced config and enable the flag

Mobile Browsers:

according to canIuse only safari on iphone has it fully functioning.

And Chrome for Android has it in the pre-release version which should be out soon.

Okay, question: Should I replace letters with accents with something else? I want to filter out "Alya Césaire Bashing," but putting in "/tags/Alya%20Césaire%20Bashing/works" doesn't seem to work. Similarly, the | symbol doesn't seem to be behaving normally when I tried something with it.

(Also, theoretically it should work on Firefox Mobile but when I tried to access the about:config page on Firefox it didn't give me anything. I googled it and it should give me something, and it was very late at night when I tried it so I might have been doing something wrong.)

yeah, I can confirm that both the | and the accented letters fuck with the css. so this thing won’t work with those kind of tags.

maybe you can do it with the partial “saire%20Bashing” it should take those tags.

It absolutely works with accented characters and pipes. This is why the tutorial said to copy the link and use it, not type it yourself. Accented characters and pipes and other special characters have special encoding for urls. The link for the Alya Césaire Bashing tag is https://archiveofourown.org/tags/Alya%20C%C3%A9saire%20Bashing/works, so that accented e is encoded as %C3%A9. For pipes, it's something like %7C. Seriously, copy the link, don't try to guess how urls encode weird characters. It'll save your a headache

Ok I know this is super old now but I work at a post office and I was curious about the price so I did some digging and I still don’t have a definite answer because THE REASON it says “no shipping services available” is because all shipping services were actually suspended to Guam at the time. As in no packages, parcels, letters, or mail or any kind could be sent to Guam. So not only is it mind boggling that it got sent so far in the wrong direction of its intended destination, but because nothing should have been able to get in to Guam period.
