FBS Draft Scene: Still Undone

Author's Notes: This has been a landmark scene in my head for a long time, but I realized recently I had never really told anyone about it! This takes place in the middle of the story. Content Warning spoils the heaviest part of this segment, so try to skip over it if you want to be surprised! Sorry I can't blank it out!

Summary: While searching the abandoned winter grounds of the carnival Taps once worked for, he and Riker discover the body of Hinge, Taps' childhood sweetheart. Title comes from Orville Peck's 'Hope to Die,' Taps and Hinge's theme.

Content Warnings: Dead robot, body desecration, attempted revival and subsequent putting down

Previously: Taps and Riker were being dragged back to New Amida by Kilroy and Lucy, but at a split second opportunity, stole their car and made off. While laying low, Taps is revealed to have an emotion blocker in his head, which Riker hastily removes, causing Taps to start experiencing extreme mood swings and reactions. Afterward, they decide to search for clues as to the whereabouts of Lindy, Taps' missing sister, and the first place to search is where Taps saw her last-- the carnival winter grounds where they worked together, now abandoned.

behold: what has been taking up my time for the past two and a half weeks!

this piano was a public art commissions for the city! it's covered in dinosaurs that have actually been found (and in the case of 3 of them, discovered) in my home state of colorado. i'm super happy with how it turned out and i had a blast painting it :^)

I will just say this as an artist only, but it's clear that animation can tell a far superior story than live action.

Look at this, the expressions the dynamics in the poses, the attention to detail, the composition! All of the them and more are proof that can be handled if done well in animation in a level that surpasses live action.

And to also mention that the Iliad and the Odyssey should be made into an animated series^^

Enzo has an idea of what Murray is planning, and knows it's not good. Even if the deaths can be negated by going to a different universe, it still means there would be death on their hands. It's not worth it to just...not be alone.

But Murray is alone. His Creator is dead, and he can't go back to his world like Enzo can. He's alone and there's a chance he can make others like him and Enzo. Killing others is unfortunate, but there's always another world where he didn't interfere and everyone's still alive. What's the difference in using one of infinite worlds? Why won't Enzo just let him do this?

Bit of a wait on this one, I know. But I'm proud of this. If for nothing else, those HANDS.

Enzo was definitely the first in a short list of people that Murray could call "friends". And Enzo is most likely the only person who knows what happened to Murray's Creator and how he nearly broke a deal. On that same token, Murray knows what happened to Enzo after he was first Created and the...complicated feelings he has to his Creator.

So, I use- (meow) (exasperated) pi- i can't fucking these blank inserts (meow) to put the pinecones in (a series of meows interrupt) and then I put the pl- I had this all planned out and I was gonna explain exactly what I was doing and then the (meow)... the CAT...
