First method to cleaning MERGED PACKAGES s3 cc, package files, only works for hairs, clothes, acc and shoes! By @crazysim-mary

Keep in mind this is one of MANY ways I clean my cc, this method is the one I like the most but I don’t know if it is safe for all computers or easier, it is for me :)

You need: Master controller

This method is the one I use, it doesn’t mean it’s safe or the best it’s just the one I personally use :) You can delete the .txt folder it won’t be needed again :)

It took me the entire day to reinstall the game on my new computer, to make all the adjustements for it to work on Windows 11, find the right settings with the Graphic Rules Maker, and… my game loads twice faster from Windows to neighborhood view, then it loads at least TEN TIMES faster to enter a lot, everything runs so smoothly, even in very heavy CC lots and neighborhoods, with all settings at high, Origin downloading the Sims 4 at the same time, talking to my best friend on Discord, recording a video… like… IS THIS HEAVEN ?! I’m about to cry. Tears of joy of course. But still !

I think the next week (or maybe even the next month) will be about enjoying my game and nothing else. I’m so, so, so happy, you can’t even imagine !

Perhaps you would be willing to share how you made Sims 2 work on Windows 11. There was someone asking for help with getting their game to work with Windows 11. Thanking you in advance 💞

Oh ! I followed a few tutorials actually.

Then the last part of @anibats​​ tutorial (the part about the dxvk file) : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ac1PyUxKoNU except that I wrote 16384 instead of 8192 in the file she talks about and in the Graphic Rules Maker as I now have 32Gb of RAM.

How different are the settings from the ones you used for Windows 10? And do you mind sharing the file number/folder size for your Downloads folder? I haven’t been able.to use anywhere near as much cc without the game crashing as I was with Win 7 & 8, which is highly distressing for this cc addict.

I never used Windows 10, I was still using Windows 7 24h ago x) My Downloads folder size is 8Go. It was 14Go one year earlier, and a very few crashing. I was actually doing all that was possible for my computer to do nothing else than playing the Sims when I wanted to play : no software loading a startup, restarting my computer right before lauching the Sims, defragmenting my drives with O&O Defrag every week, game installed on a SSD… that was pretty much it. Then my game started to pinkflash and crash like two months ago, which was a surprise because it was running nicely for years. Anibats video helped a lot (I used the same settings as her). Much less crashes, but still very laggy, because my computer was dying I guess.

Saving for later.

I am getting a new PC this year (finally) and will have this problem too.

10 years later - basegame savefile

hello everyone,

today i am sharing something a bit different than usual.

my first savefile using only basegame & no cc.

i have been building on this savefile for over 2 years now. sometimes more, sometimes less frequently. so it’s kind of a work in progress still because i don’t believe i will ever be 100% happy with it. but i decided to share it with you anyways because there is already a lot to discover and play with in here. many families have backstories and relationships to get you started with some interesting gameplay.

as the title predicts, the stories in this savefile are my imagination of what happens in the lifes of our known townies (and a few new ones) after 10 years. i just realized i could have said 8 years because of how old the sims 4 is by now, but i don’t want to go back and change that now.

to make this savefile more fun i decided that everyone can renovate or expand this to their liking and upload their own version as well so we can all get most out of this. if you decide to share your version please use the hashtag #10yearslatersave or tag me so i can check it out.

you can also upload the builds to the gallery if you renovated them. actually do whatever you like with it i just hope you like it and have fun 😊

if you find typos, builds that are not working, relationship settings that i missed or anything like that, please let me know so i can update the savefile in the future. i also want to update the savefile with more worlds from other packs and maybe take some better preview screenshots for this post some day!

anyways, i am happy that i can finally share this with you and really hope you enjoy playing with it, renovate the builds or whatever you like to do!

to install the savefile you only need to unzip the download file and put the .save file in to your saves folder. if you use windows you can probably find that folder here: \Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\saves make sure that no other file in your ‘saves’ folder has the same name so you don’t overwrite any of you existing ones.

here are some lighting mods I came up with that I think look similar to studio lights!! these were also tested with light background colors and look just as good. I was just too lazy to take screenshots after having to close and reopen my game a million times to make these ツ enjoy ♡ (only use one lighting mod at a time!)

DOUBLE FEATURE RESHADE 2 PRESETS FOR THE SIMS 3//

These are a couple of Reshade 2.0 presets for The Sims 3 I use for my screenshots.

NINETIESMOVIES is a bright, crisp preset, that focuses on just enhancing the game's colors and lighting, and less on actually manipulating the coloring, so it's meant to be used with a lighting mod of your choice. In other words, how warm or cool or neutral it looks depends greatly on that. I use this a lot on my TS3 posts, and it's great for gameplay and portraits.

EIGHTIESMOVIES I created just for fun, so it isn't perfect, but it was my attempt at getting a more moody, filmic look. The colors focus on reds, and it also adds intense white lens flares on the brightest whites.

my mother is pregnant & we are struggling to stay fed.

i feel embarrassed and guilty that i even have to make this post but i don’t really know what else to do. i know people are sent gross messages for reaching out for help so please, if you have anything negative to say, keep it to yourself.

my mom is nearly 6 months pregnant with my baby sister. she is disabled and considered a high-risk pregnancy because of her age, blood pressure and other factors. we live in a house of 6, and are struggling to keep everyone fed. we are eligible for and currently receiving the WIC program [provides food for low income mothers] but it’s proving to not be enough for our growing household. my mom is even job searching despite being told by her doctors that she cannot work while pregnant without putting risk to herself and the baby. the more stressed she becomes the more risk she is at, and this situation is not helping in the slightest.

i feel helpless as i cannot do anything to support her and my family no matter how much i want to. i am an autistic person with debilitating anxiety who also suffers from agoraphobia, so i cannot obtain and/or keep a job at this point in time. i am looking to file for disability this coming year, but it will be a lengthy process.

if you can spare literally anything to help us, i would be eternally grateful. if you can’t, a reblog to spread the word will help just as much. all money will go towards feeding my family and pets. thank you.

since @vidcunds deactivated their simblr, which had a great tutorial on how to edit the graphicsrules.sgr file by hand to make it (hopefully) work with modern PCs,  I uploaded my personal graphicsrules files (for both the game and body shop).
