In Romanian the verb "a toarce" means both "to purr" and "to spin wool".

careless whisper fucks so insanely hard and i will never forgive the internet for making it a "meme song." tonight the music seems so loud i wish that we could lose this crowd maybe its better this way we'd hurt each other with the things we want to say. if you even care.

that scene in tlo where thalia tells percy he can't start feeling sorry for luke bc luke made his choices. and thalia reveals that the reason they couldn't make it to camp in time for all of them to make it to camp was bc luke kept picking fights. and annabeth never saw this as wrong bc luke was her hero. so thalia had to pick up the pieces. and percy thinking both that luke was put in a cruel position and that luke was putting others in a cruel position. and percy is the only character who understood both sides of luke bc annabeth sees only the best of him and thalia sees only the worst. and that's why percy is the prophecy kid and the one who gives luke the knife. bc annabeth had spent the entire series essentially giving luke the knife when he didn't deserve it. and thalia was never going to give luke the knife. but percy is the only one who can see exactly when luke deserves the knife.

anyone else tired of seeing rhaenicent edits/art/think pieces where rhaenyra takes the more masculine role in the relationship?

the rhaenyra who had everyone gagged bc of her proclivity for fashion? the rhaenyra who, despite being ridiculed for her gender on a daily basis, loved being a woman? the rhaenyra that embraced her femininity and refused to bend to the men around her? the rhaenyra who found strength in motherhood and adored her children with her entire being? THAT rhaenyra?

regardless of shipping preferences wlw relationships don’t need to fit into the stereotypical heteronormative roles that so many find the need to shackle them into so that said individuals can ‘understand’ them.

My dad has a little gag he loves doing that involves me being trans (it’s fun- don’t worry).

So, my dead name is also the name of a food item (spelled different but sounds the same). We sometimes eat that food item- it’s a nice treat. His little joke is that he will only call that food “Dead Names”- which leads to hilarious instances of hearing my 70 year old father call out “Hey, I’m going to go grab some Dead Names while we’re here!” while he’s half way down the isle in the grocery store, or him coming home and saying “hey, I picked up a box of Dead Names while I was out! :)”

It just makes me so overwhelmingly happy that my old name is not something wrapped in grief. It doesn’t represent a loss. It is something we can smile about and remember even if it doesn’t fit me anymore.

Your dad sounds so cool

He is! Sometimes he uses the wrong pronouns, but he consistently does that to cis people too, so I’m p sure that’s just him never thinking about pronouns in general. No thought, head empty/ his ADHD thought process goes too fast to register them.

Also the First Thing he said to me after I came out as trans was “Is it ok if I call you Sam? Samuel is just kinda formal for an every day thing.”

(The second thing he said to me was that he loved me no matter what.)

Shujaiya, Gaza, a flattened apartment complex bears graffiti reading “All this family killed by US weapons.”

Seeing this post making the rounds today, it bears mentioning that this is in fact from 2014, when an almost identical genocide was taking place against Gaza. Yet, this graffiti stands true today as much as it did a decade ago.
