Problem in Paradise

cursedindefinitely:

Uriel blinked slowly, squinting a little as he managed to focus on Lucifer. Though he just winced again and gripped his head with both hands, shaking as he tried to breath through the next wave of pain. He couldn’t even be snarky in return. “Lucifer, please..” Chamuel whimpered, looking to his brother with tears still in his eyes .
Lucifer glanced back at his brothers, Michael giving him a stern look. The devil sighed deeply and nodded. “Alright, alright. I’ll behave.” He moved closer to the bed and sat on the edge of it. “Uriel, let me see what‘s going on. I need to see what I’m working with,” he said, keeping his voice surprisingly gentle.

Uriel glanced up at his brother, even the small shift of the bed making him wince. He swallowed and moved his hand slowly, relieving the growing wound that was once his eye.It had turned a little, opened a bit wider and the swollen flesh could be seen almost..bubbling up, spheres forming. Though they were red with infection, not like Uriel’s normally golden ichor. “...W-well..?”

Lucifer moved closer to the bed and crossed his arms. “I was dragged here. They think I might be able to find a way to help.” His eyes swept over his brother. “I can see why now. You look worse than usual.” Michael rolled his eyes, still holding Cham close.
“Lucifer,” he said in a scolding tone. Lucifer ignored him.

Lucifer moved towards the bed, a bit caught off guard at seeing Uriel cry. He blinked a bit and glanced to Michael, who was as stone faced as ever. God stayed back and went to search through his tomes to find what they needed. Lucifer cleared his throat them. “Uriel?” He asked curiously, trying to not let on how seeing his brother this way affected him. Michael just moved to wrap an arm around Chamuel’s shoulders comfortingly.

Chamuel covered his mouth, seeing the state Uriel was in. The other angel didn’t notice them until Lucifer spoke. Uriel blinked, taking a moment to compose himself before looking over, turning his head painfully. “...Lucifer?” He blinked, squinting a little with his vision blurry. “..What in the world are you doing here?” Uriel kept his hand over his eye, not wanting to scare Chamuel again.

God was quiet for a moment as Lucifer stood almost awkwardly. Then God stepped forward to hug him, startling him a little. “I’m glad you’re here, Lucifer. Any help is welcome.” He let him go and then turned his attention to Chamuel. “Your brother will be okay, Chamuel. I promise.” He wiped away the angel’s tears. “Why don’t you all go see him? Lucifer, maybe you’ve encountered something like it before.” Lucifer nodded and moved to follow Michael inside.

Chamuel sniffled, but was relieved to see God and Lucifer could get along for this task. He looked to his father and nodded, leaning into his touch and trying to calm himself down. Getting all worked up wasn’t going to help Uriel. “O-okay..” The younger angel swallowed thickly, before going after his brothers.  Uriel laid back on the bed, his hand up over the now empty and aching socket. He was almost crying, hissing breaths through his teeth as he tried to keep himself under control. But once he thought he was alone, tears started to slip out. “Nngh..gh...”

Lucifer huffed a bit and looked at Chamuel, frowning deeply at the tone of voice. Though when Chamuel broke down, he instantly moved to hug him, practically lifting him. “Alright. I… I’ll take a look,” he said, his expression softening a bit. “I’ll see what I can do, okay?”
God nodded and brushed his hand through Uriel’s hair. “I’ll be right back,” he promised again. He kissed Uriel’s head and then moved to leave the room. Though he paused at seeing his other three sons. He blinked a little. “Lucifer??”

Chamuel clung tightly to Lucifer, sobbing against his shoulder and shaking. “H-he’s in so much pain Luci.. and he’s just getting worse..” He whimpered, and didn’t look up until their father came in. “..” The younger archangel pulled back a bit, rubbing his eyes slowly .”...We...We thought..maybe Luci could help.” Cham explained to his father, still sobbing a little.

God felt tears well in his eyes as he listened to his son’s begging and knowing he could do nothing for him. “Oh, Uriel. I wish I could do something. Don’t worry. We’ll figure this out. Focus on me, little one, I’m right here.” He knew he needed to go so he could find something but he didn’t want to leave his son this way.
It seemed a while before Michael came back. He had a scowl on his face and Lucifer thrown over his shoulder. He walked over to Chamuel and dropped him in front of the door. “What the fuck, Michael!!”

Uriel whimpered again, shuddering in pain and looking up at his father. “P-Please.. F-Figure this out, father please..” He gasped in pain as the socket stretched again, and he nearly screamed, doubled over and shaking. “A-aghn…! Hhg…!” The angel trembled, head between his knees and his hands on God’s shirt. Chamuel stood up and looked at Lucifer. “Luci.” He said, moving to help his brother up. Though, he knew Michael didn’t have a choice. But Chamuel’s worry showed through, even as he tried to hide it. “..Luci, we need your help.”

God nodded, rubbing a hand over Uriel’s back. “I will, my son. I promise. I will.” He shifted to lay Uriel in the bed. “Try to calm yourself. It’ll be okay. I’ll figure this out. I’ll be right back okay? I’m going to go try to find… anything about what we may be dealing with.”

Lucifer glanced to Chamuel and his expression softened as he was helped up. He sighed. “Yeah, I know. Michael told me about Uriel before he kidnapped me,” he said with a glare to his older brother.

“You were being difficult and we didn’t have time. Uriel’s your brother, you should help him.” Lucifer rolled his eyes.

Uriel whined in pain as he shifted to lay back, pressure shifting to the back of his head for the time being. He glanced up at God and nodded as best he could. "Ok..ok father." Uriel wanted to trust his father would figure this out. He needed to trust it.

Chamuel frowned, already having tears in his eyes. "Luci please, somethings really wrong." He said with a shaky voice. "His eye ...his eye popped out and he.." His sentenced ended there as he broke down into sobbing.

Uriel gasped as he watched his eye disappear, his fingers coming up to feel at the now empty socket. “W-What’s happening to me..?” He asked softly, looking up at God again more desperately.  “F-Father please, what’s happening!?” Uriel begged his father, looking up at him and gripping at him. “What’s going on?!”
God looked at Uriel, unable to answer his desperate questions. He sighed and moved to hug him, holding him close gently. “I don’t know,” he admitted. He pulled back and took Uriel’s face in his hands, his touch as gentle as could be. “But it’ll be okay. I’ll figure it out. I promise.” His magic laced his voice, trying to calm Uriel even slightly from where he was now.

“F-Father please.” Uriel cried softly, gripping to his father’s closing. “Please d-do something..!” He begged him more, the eye socket getting a little wider, slowly, deforming a bit. “Please, please... “ He sobbed, rubbing his face. “I-It hurts..! Dad please...!” Nothing worked, the calming magic did nothing to help him.  Chamuel was listening in, frowning as he heard his brother’s panicked voice. He just waited for Lucifer, hoping something would work soon enough.

God watched Uriel, holding him tightly and keeping him close. “Oh Uriel…” he said softly. “I know. I know, little one. I wish I could help.” He kept saying comforting things but then stopped when he saw the eye fell. He blinked a bit and his expression shifted. “Oh my son…” He sighed deeply and used his powers to move the eye from the floor and somewhere nearby.
Michael nodded. “I’ll be as fast as I can.” With that, he vanished, teleporting to Lucifer’s castle.

God sighed and moved to pull him close, holding him. “I’m sure there is. I’ll find out how to fix this, I promise, Uriel. You’re not gonna g to stay like this.” He sighed. “We’ll do what we can, okay? It will be okay.” Really he had no idea if it would be. And that terrified him.
Michael was quiet for a moment and sighed. “Alright. I’ll go talk to him. You stay here in case father needs anything or there’s any news, okay?” Chamuel was the last of his brothers he wanted going to hell.

Uriel whimpered as he leaned on his father. He clung to him a bit, shuddering and grunting in pain again. “Hhg..Nngh..”  The angel tried to shut his eye, and his hand came up to hold onto the hanging eye. “It hurts.. It hurt so much.” He whimpered, pulling at his father a bit. Then, he glanced up again, the hanging eye strained and the connecting tissue having severed, the eye simply falling to the ground. “...D-Dad..?” Chamuel nodded. “Okay..please hurry.” He said, pacing outside his father’s chambers.

God pulled his hand away quickly and his eyes widened at what was happening to Uriel. He shook his head, not being able to make much sense of it. “I’m so sorry, Uriel. I-I don’t think there’s anything I can do.” Just the prospect of not being able to help baffled him.
Michael paused, seeming to consider it. Then he shook his head. “He’d never want to help us. Especially not Uriel.” He sighed. “I don’t know if there’d be any point in asking.”

“D-Dad please..” Uriel whimpered, looking up again and looking terrified. “T-There has to be something..! Dad please.” He was begging his father at this point, shaking and clinging tightly to his father’s robes. “Please, I-I can’t take this..W-What if it gets worse? “ Chamuel looked towards the entrance of God’s chambers, knowing there was no update and that things probably weren’t getting better. “...Well, we can’t just stand here and do nothing...We need to figure out what’s happening.”

God frowned a little and nodded. “Alright, alright. Relax, my son.” He moved to gently put a hand on his cheek, just under the hanging eye. “Relax. I’ll try to fix it.” He wasn’t sure he could and tried to keep Uriel in place as he tried to carefully replace the eye.
Michael gently pet Chamuel’s hair, keeping himself composed easily. Though he was a bit freaked out too. “I didn’t say it was okay, I said it will be.” He sighed. “I’m sure he is. He looked as surprised as us.”

Uriel shook, whimpering just a little bit and gripping tighter to God. “P-Please..Please I can’t take this..” He sobbed, glancing down as God’s hand rested on him. His other eye shut as he tried to focus on panicking more and more. Though, his loose eye didn’t seem to want to go in, mainly thanks to the swelling of his head behind it. Chamuel whimpered again, gripping to his brother still. “..W-what if he can’t fix it?” He asked, looking to Michael.

God frowned a little and stopped his efforts. He sighed softly. “Uriel, I don’t think I can right now. I’m gonna try to lessen the swelling and we’ll see.” He kept his voice soft and comforting, his hand resting on the side of his son’s head as he tried to take care of it.

Michael was quiet at the question and he frowned deeply. “I…I don’t know,” he said softly. “Then we’ll figure something else out. But we will figure it out.”

Uriel whimpered, shaking as his fists clenched at his father's bed. "..it hurts..it hurts so much." He muttered, gritting his teeth and sucking in air almost desperately. Though, his father's magic did nothing, his eyesocket seeming almost more irritated. It almost..shifted, like it was getting wider. "Ow..!" Uriel hissed in pain.

Chamuel held himself, glancing away. "..Maybe we should..get Luci..maybe he could help." He looked to his eldest brother..not wanting to give too much away about how he still visited Lucifer.
