The map of Palestine is depicted using the names of the cities and villages that existed before 1948. The names are written in a derivative of the Diwani Jali Islamic calligraphy script Villages and cities are drawn on the map according to their geographic location. However, the villages written on the map represent only a small fraction of the myriad of towns and villages in Palestine at the time. It’s estimated that around 400 towns and villages were depopulated in the year 1948 alone. Some of the names on the map are listed below with additional notations based on their current or former status. * Indicates towns and villages which still have a significant Palestinian population. ** Indicates villages that were forcibly depopulated and destroyed or repopulated with non local residents. *** Indicates villages in which all or part of the unarmed of the civilian population was massacred during the depopulation of the villages on 1948

Palestinian activists get their message across on Londons iconic Tower Bridge landmark- one of the cities most historic buildings. We need a ceasefire now.
