this is my brother two years ago. we were at the park, just me and him, and he turned to me and said “kayla, don’t you ever wish there were no bad people in the world?” i thought it to be a funny thing for a 5 year old to say, but shrugged it off. last year, he didnt come home from school, we thought that being only in grade prep, he might’ve decided to go home with his bestfriend without telling us, but he didn’t. the school confirmed they saw him get on his school bus after the bell rang. but thats all we knew, the bus driver said that he had gotten off a stop early, my mother was frantically searching the neighbourhood for him. we never found him. it’s been two years and we’re still looking for him, he was such a beautiful boy, and i cant help but think the worst. he could be anywhere in the world by now, so please, reblog this, no matter where you’re from, you could save a life. xx

To your question the reason why it's wrong that other people wear dreads is mostly because black people have been oppressed for years and years and everyone turns a blind eye to it as they call black people thugs and other slurs especially when we wear our own styles and culture. Then, when other races do it, it's suddenly edgy and cool and fashionable. There are other reasons but that one is a big one.
ah i see, so it’s a case of seeing culture positively only when it’s suitable for them? i get it tbh. with the jackson situation, i don’t think he should have been given hate for having dreads, since he’s not somebody who is disrespectful of black culture (that i know of) but i understand he reacted poorly to the whole thing.
okay im not saying this so that i can get hate or be yelled at, im literally asking so that i can be educated on a topic i dont know about. here is my question, and id really like an answer that will help me learn more: why is it wrong for a person of another race to wear dreads?
