modern au les mis: when madeleine refuses to fire javert over the denouncing, javert makes an r/AITA post about the situation but it’s like
“hello reddit. IATA. I am the asshole. but my boss doesn’t understand. please help me convince him that I need to be fired. thank you”

Sometimes you catch glimpses of familiar faces
People who belong to an unknown Before Steps that must have echoed each other Shoulders you must have held
Smiles that you must have shared Fingers that you must have intertwined Eyes that must have met (even if just for a moment)
But your heart should not feel so drawn to a stranger And that connection feels oddly, painfully nostalgic.
Sometimes you catch glimpses of familiar faces
and you remind yourself
“it’s only in my head”

Fantine was beautiful, and remained pure as long as she could. She had gold and pearls for her dowry; but her gold was on her head, and her pearls were in her mouth.
[ID: Two pieces of artwork of Fantine from Les Miserables, a young blonde white woman from the shoulders up, each facing the opposite way. In the first, her hair is long and she wears a blue dress, and in the second her hair is cropped short, there is a red bruise on her cheek, and her shoulders are bare. End ID.]
heyy! instead of listening to my teacher talk about poetry i made these (relax! i’m joking! i did listen..and made these at the same time :0).
i wanted to make les amis lockscreens and i’m testing what kind of style i want. i tried to make it look like u got a text from grantaire and he’s telling u he believes in u (referencing one of his most memorable lines ;0) as a sort of motivational message!
idk if i should add the emojis or not? feedback would be appreciated!
like/reblog if you’d like to use! :)
Enjolras: * running into the room* Grantaire just said he doesn’t love me anymore!
Éponine: What?
Grantaire*following him in* I did not say that. I just said that we were not driving all the way to Kentucky just so you can punch Mitch McConnell in the face.
can you imagine a reincarnation!au where all les Amis remember at various times and it messes with their language abilities?
some scenarios for your consideration:
imagine a French Marius trying to talk to his friends and he keeps using odd 19th century phrases and cursing himself for being such a dork. Courf teases him about it relentlessly in public, but reminisces on the funny ones with Ferre in private.
imagine British Eponine and Cosette bumping into each other and Eponine suddenly finding that she can speak French fluently and trying to hide it from her family while Cosette could always speak French fluently and doesn’t even notice, thinking it was a happy twist of fate that they both studied French. She finally figures it out when they all find each other, but likes to think it was fate anyway.
imagine American Enj getting his memories back and suddenly speaking in perfect, passionate French to Spanish R who doesn’t speak a lick of French, and mysteriously didn’t get it back with his memories, and just stares at him in awe and nods along because even though he doesn’t understand, he believes in everything Enj is saying. (Cosette tutors him in private so that he can be a part of the group. Once he learns, he never shuts up.)
crimes against enjolras 💔

Martyrdom
In Catholic art, martyrs are depicted holding palm branches in one hand, and the instrument of their destruction in the other.
LES MISÉRABLES (2012) dir. Tom Hooper
Will you join in our crusade? Who will be strong and stand with me? Beyond the barricade, is there a world you long to see? Then join in the fight that will give you the right to be free!
oh my friends my friends....I am once again asking....what your sacrifice was for
