“Please, go ahead and don’t miss me!” Aderyn shouted as she stepped closer to Parker. Finally, she had someone to shout at, and someone who truly deserved it. “Ezra’s not here, I mean, his brother tried to kill himself because of you, remember?” She shoved him as hard as she could, not even caring about the younger girl who ran away anyway. She wanted him to feel her pain in any way possible. “You shouldn’t have come here, James. You should kill yourself, actually.”

Parker hissed as he was being shoved, feeling the pain from his stab wounds and other injuries. “How do you know it was because of me? Fuck off, I know you guys are obsessed with me, but really? Lying about sensitive shit like that? Just to make me look like the bad guy?” He opened his mouth to say something else, but Aderyn’s last comment sort of struck a chord with him. It stung. He knew that that was something a lot of people wanted him to do, but to actually hear it... “Only if you kill yourself first,” he spat at her before turning around to walk away. He couldn’t take this.

“You kids should leave this place, honestly. If everyone keeps getting killed like this, there’s not going to be many people left.” He said and raised an eyebrow. “Okay. You seem nervous. There’s no need to be nervous, it’s just a couple of stitches.”
Image
Parker had to let out a soft scoff. “Easier said than done, doc,” he told him. “We would’ve left when the first body showed up.” He bit his lip. “I’m not nervous about the stitches,” he admitted. “I’m nervous about...everything else. Doesn’t matter.”

“Thank you, that’s so nice of you.” He said and raised an eyebrow. “No, I like making your life hell, Peter. I don’t know, for some reason I like annoying meerkats. I just hope that this isn’t considered abuse against animals, because I do like animals. But not you.”
Image
Narrowing his eyes at being called Peter, he tried his best to ignore the other as he adjusting the bookbag he had on his shoulder, walking away. “It’s Parker, by the way,” he called over his shoulder, not even bothering to look to see if Mason was following him. “And if you’re going to have get used to me being around, because I’m not going anywhere.”

Ezra had always been hyper-aware of Parker’s present, but these days things were different. Sitting down next to him, he leaned back in his chair, eyes focused on the younger man. Whenever he spotted Parker now, he couldn’t stop himself from approaching him, to go ruffle his fathers a little - or a lot. “Seriously?”, he snorted, eyes empty and hard as he looked at the ring. “That is what you left my brother for? Where did your fiancé buy that ring, Target?” There was an amused chuckle in his voice, mischief glistening in his eyes. “But then again, you aren’t exactly used to high-end anything anymore, right?”
Image
“Go away, Schuyler,” Parker said when he spotted Ezra taking a seat besides him, not even bothering to look up from his planning. He sighed in frustration at the insult, slamming down the pen he was using. “Don’t you have anything better to do?” he nearly hissed, turning around to face the other man. “I don’t want to be in your life, I don’t want to be in your brother’s life--just leave me alone.”

As usual, the library was crowded. But for some reason, Matthias didn’t feel like he would be able to properly work in his apartment. As he walked through the tables, he eventually found a place – hopefully, next to Parker. He never really talked to him, but he knew he was a business student. “That doesn’t look like the essay due tomorrow.” Matthias teased the other man as he sat in front of him. “Hope you don’t mind, but it’s so crowded.”
Image
“Hm?” Parker glanced up from the list, watching Matthias taking a seat before he let out a chuckle. “Ah, no. No, it’s not--just figuring out who to invite to the wedding,” he told him truthfully. “You’re fine, as long as you don’t mind the mess that’s wedding planning.” He gestured to not only the textbooks that were opened for his essay, but also the wedding catalogs and notes and endless lists.

“Well, someone’s got a new piece of jewelry,” Elena pointed out as her eyes drifted away from the books behind the man to his finger. Of course, she was more than familiar with who Parker was. Her brother used to go on and on about him, even after their falling out. Still, Elena couldn’t really say that she ever talked much to the guy. The ring around his finger still didn’t fail to attract her attention, of course. “It’s… simple. But very pretty. Congratulations.”

Parker raised an eyebrow at her, trying to place a name to the face. “Uh, yeah, it’s...it’s strange but also feels right?” He remembered he’s seen her around Ezra and Emry, and she definitely had that Schuyler look to her--perhaps she was a Schuyler herself. Lovely. His smile was thin at the sort of compliment. “Thank you, we’re very excited,” he told her. “Uhm, I’m sorry but, have we properly met? Or are you just one of those who keeps up with the gossip blog?” he asked, an almost teasing tone to his voice.

Aderyn slowly turned around to look at Parker. This was a pure nightmare. The reason why she came back was that Emry was in the hospital, probably because of his behavior. And now, he dared coming to her like he had any right to do so. She was so upset. When everything was starting to get better again, she had to step back in this cursed place and everything fell apart. “You better get off my way James, because I swear to God I’m going to punch you and her in the face right now.”
Image
Parker stood his ground, holding an arm out to shield the crying student behind him. “Do you want another screwdriver in you?” he spat. “You need to back off and leave this person alone. Seriously, go cry to Ezra or some other unlucky bastard who has to deal with you!”

Isabelle was wondering through the library. Her main goal was to find the book she needed for her theory class, but there was also a part of her that wanted to be surrounded by people. For some reason it felt like the minute she’d be completely alone, she’d break down and this time she felt like she wouldn’t be able to put herself back together. When she spotted Parker, she doubted for a second. After all, he made his opinion on her pretty clear, and she hadn’t really been great towards him either. But he was marrying Miles, and she had to be happy about that. “ Hi. I just wanted to say congratulations. ” Isabelle said, hoping he’d take it.
Image
Parker looked up, a bit surprised to see Isabelle--and her congratulating him? He had to take a moment to recompose himself to answer her question. “Oh, uhm. Thanks,” he said, forcing a smile on his face. “We’re both pretty excited.” She was Miles’ close friend, after all. He had to play nice. Besides, he nearly died and with the Emry drama, he lost touch with a lot of people on campus. Perhaps he could get on everyone’s good side before the wedding. “We were thinking about having the wedding here, actually. On campus. What d’you think? It wouldn’t be too...I don’t know, cheap?”

All Alexandra wanted was to ask for a pen, but she couldn’t help but follow Parker’s movement with her eyes, frowning slightly when her eyes settled on the ring around his finger. “Oh my, I’m so sorry,” she said almost on automatic, a hand placed on her chest. “I mean, congratulations or whatever, but that ring? It’s a tragedy.”
Image
Parker finally glanced up to see Alexandra--a familiar and (sometimes) friendly face. They weren’t exactly friends, but they didn’t dislike each other either. He blinked a couple of times, taken aback of what she said about his ring. “I...” He cleared his throat. “It was the most expensive one in the catalog,” he tried to protest. “I thought it was suited me best.”

“Right, that’s with me. Looks like everyone at this hospital is getting their stab wounds taken care of. Too many students are getting stabbed, it’s hard getting used to it.” He said and raised an eyebrow, as he looked at his lab coat. “Thanks, I guess.” He said and shrugged.
Image
Parker chewed onto his lower lip nervously. “Right. Okay.” He shifted from foot-to-foot. “I probably evoked the killer a bit too much, but...” He shrugged. “Alright, doc. I’m ready to get these stitches out so that I don’t have to look like Frankenstein’s monster anymore.”

“Poor you.” He said and raised an eyebrow. “I was also stabbed but you don’t see me whining about it. But, you do you.” He said and shrugged. “I do, however, hope you changed your mind.”
Image
Parker rolled his eyes. “I really don’t believe anyone who was trying to say you were becoming nice,” he said. “I truly think that’s impossible. Don’t you need to go make someone else’s life hell now?”

Parker was less than thrilled about being back in school, but going to class and studying gave him the distraction he needed from what he went through several weeks ago. Plus the wedding planning gave him plenty of distraction, which was what he was doing in the library, instead of writing a marketing plan for his business class. He was fidgeting with the ring his fiance had given him as he looked through the invited list for probably the umpteenth time this week, unaware of another approaching his table.

“I need your opinion,” she started saying as she joined the other where they were, “should I go with the basic halloween costume like a cat or a witch or should I actually try to be creative and do something else?”
Image

“Uhm...” Parker glanced over at her, slightly raising an eyebrow. “Well--if you wanna do something basic but creative, you can go with Catwoman, or something. So that you’re not just a cat. Although, I don’t think people will complain what you wear either way with that bod.”

“Why are you even crying? Because a teacher died? Did you even know him? You’re pathetic, can’t you see this?” Aderyn was furious even if her voice remained almost calm when she talked to this junior student she didn’t even know. She was visibly pissed and people were starting to gather around them – she didn’t care. The other was petrified, tears rolling down her cheeks, only making things worse. “Will you answer me?!”

Image

When Parker had heard that Aderyn was back, his first thought was to stay away from her. He was tired of the drama with her before she mysteriously disappeared, and now that word about Professor Matthews was spreading, he did not want to get in her way. Of course, luck wasn’t on his side when he heard the familiar annoying voice in a hallway and a crowd beginning to form. Once he realized that she was literally shouting at another student, he stood firmly between them. “Hey, back off!” he told Aderyn, frowning. “What the hell do you think you’re doing?”
