“Isn’t he being a little too reckless with that thing?” she muttered. She had been watching the boy on what she assumed was supposed to be a plane or some type of contraption that could move through the air like that. She had been so preoccupied with the young man in the air that she hadn’t even stopped to consider that she might have somehow crossed into a different era.
The test flight of his latest aircraft was turning into a fantastic success. With the treasure he and Sheeta had managed to collect from Laputa, Pazu had been able to buy real materials for his planes and he was soaking up every opportunity to test his new aircraft out.
He turned the plane sharply, flying so that the wing almost pointed toward the ground. Below, he could see the figure of a young girl, little more than a brown and pink dot standing in the middle of a field of green. Unable to help himself, Pazu lifted his hand in greeting and gave a loud shout.
...Only to be interrupted by the alarming krchuk-krchuk-chukk of something going wrong within his plane. Pazu jolted forward as the control stick nearly yanked itself from his grip. The plane wobbled and shook as he righted it. No matter how hard he attempted to pull up, the craft continued on its descent. The ground rushed up to him hard and fast. With a yelp, Pazu and the aeroplane touched down with a nearly disastrous lack of grace.
