Okay, so here goes...

One year ago, I dived back into the YGO fandom and decided to try my hand at writing fanfiction for the first time in forever, the first time in the fandom actually. And I did it because I stumbled upon PuzzleJune, an event that celebrates Puzzleshipping, my forever and ever OTP. As I wrote that month, I fell more in love with the boys, but also more in love with writing.

I waited until almost the very last moment to see if there would be a list of prompts posted for June 2021, and when the date came closer, and I still could not find one, I told myself I should maybe do something about it.

So I did. I present to you Our Little Corner of the Universe aka PuzzleJune2021.

The specifics are simple: a list of prompts was created in the same format as the events from the past two years. There is an opening and ending prompt, weekly prompts and daily prompts, from which you can choose to do as many as you want, there is no restrictions. When you post, whether on Tumblr or any other social media like Instagram and Twitter, we would appreciate it if you tag #puzzlejune or #puzzlejune2021 or #ourlittlecorneroftheuniverse, but also the prompt you are using (example: #puzzlefood, if the prompt is food).

Seasons are time markers.

They can be short... or just long enough for Atem to realise he may have the tiniest crush on his new colleague.

Between tumblers of hot (and sometimes cold) coffee, colourful pens and eager children, Atem must navigate his way through the beginning of the school year while entertaining the idea that the teacher down the hall may just as well be a better paycheck than he had hoped for.

Welcome to PuzzleJune 2023! We are only two weeks away from a whole month of celebrating our favorite soul mates! A new group came together to make sure we have all the inspiration to fill the internet with all the love we have for these two!

This year's theme is Ancient Egypt, but as per usual, fics and art do not need to be related to that. This month is about finding your inspiration and creativity however it comes to you. Let Yugi and Atem lead your way! Whether it is angst, fluff, humor or something nsfw, this is the time to show the internet that these two embody true love like no one else!

I drew this as a quick meme but then I thought that I want a fanfic with modern no magic shit AU. where is Atem the son of a politician who went with his father to Japan for the summer to gain experience in doing some kind of international affairs and when he does not go on business with his father he just sits sadly in his room because no one wants to mess with him and he himself does not want to walk the streets of an unfamiliar city and attract the attention of his retinue of guards. father sees that Atem is somehow a little sad and thinks about what to do about it because he does not want to just hire some unverified guide. and then someone from his entourage says that he has a friend who has a grandson who is about the same age as Atem and that «if you want I can call and arrange everything».

meanwhile, Yugi is having a very bored vacation at his grandfather's shop because it just so happens that all of his friends are either busy or away for a couple of weeks. so that he yearns and whines that he is bored of sitting here. but his grandfather stuns him with the news that his friend called him and asked Yugi to show the city to the son of an important person from Egypt who settled in domino city before the end of the month and that he said that Yugi agreed

(Yugi- DID YOU EVEN ASK ME???? how are we going to communicate ???😖💦💦💦

- well, you study English at school - that's practice for you! forward ! it's such an interesting experience! + you said yourself that you're bored here!😤)

eventually Atem and Yugi meet, somehow communicate in English, BUT all problems of the language barrier disappear when they find out that they share a common passion for games. then they end up falling in love and it's a bit difficult because they can't date whenever they want + they have limited time + they're nervous fools from different countries with still a language barrier. Somewhere around this time, Yugi's friends return and they are LITTLE surprised that Yugi managed to find the love of his life in a couple of weeks in some rich boy from FUCKING EGYPT that he is trying to secretly date. but like true friends, they are here to help.

❗VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION ❗

Hello, my fellow fanwork creators. Sorry to interrupt, but there's an important information you all should pay attention to.

In short, everyone who is eligible to vote for the election of OTW (they run AO3 and Fanlore), should vote against the candidate Tiffany G. If you have donated over 10$ to AO3 in the past year, you are eligible to vote for yourself, and for us, for every Archive of Our Own user, especially the creators in China. This is a very serious question.

In Tiffany's statement, they want to build a more strict censorship policy in AO3. They also talked about limiting the adult content so this website would "have a better image to public". And they said China banned AO3 because of "pedophilic content" but as a Chinese myself, we all know it's just because my country prohibits any sex-related website. So basically, if this Tiffany succeed to get a seat of OTW, AO3 will face more strict censorship, limited adult content, and for we, for Chinese users, the result would be more catastrophic.

Tiffany G also mentioned that they work in a governmental organisation in China. Just consider why a pro-censorship, fandom newbie(Tiffany said it themself), and government staff wants to run for the election of an organisation that is holistically against their agenda. In my personal worst imagination, once they got the seat, they will immediately pack all the information of Chinese users in AO3 and report them to the Government. The consequence will be horrible.

Please, vote for yourself, for us, and for the future of our favourite fanwork site. If you are not an eligible voter and you wanna do something, please let more people receive this information. Thank you.

Just remember, people claiming that they want to create “safe spaces to protect children” are using that to disguise more nefarious and malicious intentions of silencing adults in adult spaces that were designed for adults having curated fandom experience with tagging and rating systems for a reason. ✨

Censorship has never been about protecting children for these people.
