Okay but this rascal will literally try to squeeze herself into any place she isn’t allowed to go
at least she has good taste
After watching how booktok is making people fall for overconsumerism with book hauls and such, it was nice to go to my local library. They even put how much I'm saving, and I wonder if other libraries do that too! Please let me know!
I should use my library more often! 💕

(Example above is for a £65 commission with no discounts applied, not the exact commission pictured)
A few people have asked about my commission prices recently, either out of interest for selling their own art or suggesting that the prices are a bit high. I thought it would be interesting to share a breakdown!
I’m lucky enough to have a full time job that I mostly enjoy, so this isn’t make or break for me, but if this was my only job I would definitely have to charge more than I do to make it worthwhile. Either that or use templates, copy and paste, type lettering or use a lower quality or less ethical printing company.
I’m not complaining by any means- just explaining. I think the more correct price for the amount of work would be about £20 or £30 higher, the costs definitely surprised me when I started, and more so at tax time.
I do love drawing these though, finding out people’s favourite books, looking at all the different editions to pick ones that match, or hunting specific ones down if asked to- and it’s so great getting nice reviews or seeing them up in people’s houses. For anyone looking to start selling their art, I’d also highly recommend getting some prints/stickers/bookmarks etc for sale too, as commissions come in so unevenly.
Happy to answer any questions!

New commission!
I had started this in good time, then impulsively peeled off my screen protector because it got too dirty, not realising that I’m now so used to drawing with one on that I was incapable of continuing without ordering another, so I just got finished in time to retain my coveted Etsy perfect shipping record. Stressful!
Which of these have you read?
City Lights really is an absolutely magical bookstore. I wanted to buy every book there.
