“Leave at once,” you whispered as you gripped the arms of your throne attempting to control your anger. You looked up to see Leeza’s shocked expression.

“I am the queen of Spain-” you stood from your throne moving closer to your sister-in-law.

“I am the queen of France and as I see, you are standing in my court. Get out.” Leeza stared at you with wide eyes.

“You better watch yourself or my husband, the king of spain, will punish your country severely,” she walked forward her heels clicking on the stone floors.

“Oh goodness Leeza, We get it,” you exclaimed “you married the king of Spain.” You picked up your long gown and stood right in front of the stuck up blonde. “But you are a French woman through and through. This is your home. You wouldn’t dare destroy it.”

“It’s better I, than the king himself.” You sucked in a breath squeezing a fistful of your dress. It took all your might not to slap her right there.

“How dare you threaten our country and my reign.” Charles yelled. She let out a gasp before stomping and turning away to finally exit the throne room.

You stared in shock at the scen unraveling before you. Frozen in confusion with Charles outburst.

“I think I’m going insane” he whispered. You turned around as Charles sunk down in his throne.

“And you will with me by your side,” you smiled “we will get through this Charles, forget your sister. She loves to stick her nose in our business.” You walked closer to his shaking body, and gently placed a hand under his chin. He struggled to meet your eye. For weeks he had been doing this. Afraid of letting you down.

“I’m turning into my father.” You cupped his face forcing him to look you in the eye.

“Charles Valois, you are not your father,” you shook your head holding back the tears. “Your father destroyed me, you saved me.”

Remembering the betrayal between king Henry and your father always pained you. He was the reason your father was dead, one of Henry’s many victims during his madness.

“I can’t do this. Francis should be here.”

“I know love,” you moved closer as he pulled you in wrapping his arms around you waist. “You have seen more horror than we all could imagine. But you are here,” you slowly sank in front of him. Equal playing field in hopes of getting him to once again look into your eyes. “You’ll never be alone.” He stared deeply into your eyes before slowly pressing his lips against yours.

“I love you, Y/N”

It was supposed to be a simple day. You had one more client and then you could go home and curl up on the couch. You grabbed the chart from your secretary, Jane, and smiled. It was Bucky Barnes, he was the nicest of your regular clients.

“He’s already waiting in the lobby,” Jane whispered “and he’s brought a friend.”

“Steve?” You questioned raising an eyebrow, Steve hadn’t come in with him in months. Jane shook her head as she sent your intern to fetch Mr. Barnes. Confused, you headed back into your office and waited. You began to type up the paperwork for your last patient, a corgi who swallowed some legos. You were so lost in thought you never heard Bucky open the door until his voice filled the room.

“Hello Dr. Y/L/N,” you turned to face the smiling man.

“Mr. Barnes, just put her on the table,” he nodded and moved into the room, behind him was a man you recognized from the news. Someone who you had begun to despise due to his arrogant attitude and wasting of money. He moved in front of you sticking his hand out. “Tony Stark” you smiled and shook his hand swallowing the disgust you felt.

“Good afternoon Mr. Stark,” you moved towards the table where Bucky’s blue staffy, Peggy, was laying. You give her a quick look over. “She looks good Bucky, the stitches are healing just fine.”

Bucky sent you a big smile before getting closer to Peggy “thanks doc”

“Anytime” you watched as Bucky helped Peggy off the table, as you turned to pick up; her file you came in contact with Tony

“You thought I didn’t notice,” he said with wide grin.

“I’m sorry, Mr. Stark, but i’m not sure what you mean.” You move to step out of the room only to have Tony match your movements.

“ oh but, Dr. [L/N] we both know you do.” You stared at the cocky man standing in front of you.

“Do you understand the word no, Mr.Stark?” He let out a soft chuckle

“I do, I just don’t like it.”

“And I don’t like spoiled brats,” stark stared at you dumbfounded, your boldness shocking as so many girls have never fought back. “Now if you’ll excuse me Mr. Stark, I have patients to attend to and no patience left for you.” You moved around the man and walked out the door

“I love you too!” He yelled after you. You smiled, shaking your head. Why was he so infuriating yet, so attractive.
