It’s My Little Monday! With…Soft Sleepy Newborn Hushabye! It’s My Little Monday and it’s time to get weird! The Soft Sleepy Newborn is a very little-known variety of a G1 pony. Only 3 characters were made, and it’s thought that they were an attempt to break into the ‘baby dolls’ market with a life size newborn pony. It’s G1′s largest effort (seen here next to their smallest effort, a petite pony) There were 3 of these made, and each came with a cloth diaper. plastic bottle & lace edge bonnet. They have ‘sleepy close’ lay-down eyes & a ‘close eye’ gimmick when you pull the tail. Regardless of body color, the eyes are always blue. Hushabye is the most difficult one to get and she completes the set for me. Certain strange toys appeal to me, and it does include these. Just the oddity of a pony trying to be a baby doll & having blink eyes…The forward facing eyes make them a little less cute, though. The newborn sculpting is actually really good otherwise, it IS like a direct scale-up of the really cute normal newborns. Why they’re called “soft” is a mystery, it is very hard plastic. These were likely rather costly when they were new, and being so large were probably often one of the first “toys to go away” out of a child’s room. The whole “its a baby doll” thing didn’t catch on, because there was no second set of these. All these factors (plus they’re weird) contribute to their scarcity and high pricing today. It is important to have a an interesting look into toy history on a fun Monday!

The Finale for the playset haul, I finally got a Dream castle! Its not perfect but im in love 💖 Its quite sunfaded as shown by Majesty’s throne but I plan to fix this.
