A heads up for y’all:
Tumblr is apparently getting pretty serious about deleting people with multiple unused URLs for violating community guidelines. If you’re going to use multiple URLs for whatever reason (you’re saving one for a cool blog idea you’ve got, you’re seeing what combos of header and background the blog generator spits out, you’re a pastel moodboard blogger and you’ve gotta differentiate between dusty rose, millennial pink, and rose gold, you’re trying to follow in aquafresh’s steps and re-start woody’s roundup) - WHATEVER the reason - you have to use those blogs like blogs. If you’ve got an empty sideblog URL (even just ONE empty blog) Tumblr may decide to treat it like a bot and delete your whole ass blog.
This is ESPECIALLY true if there’s a recent uptick in bot activity on tumblr (and I can’t be the only one who has gotten twenty messages about “pics for u” this week).
So if you’re generating new URLs please put something on them.

So what I’m getting from the responses to this post is
- y’all are hoarding URLs
- y’all are RPing
- y’all are ADHD gremlins who have good ideas and no execution (I feel you, my dudes)
- y’all trust tumblr exactly not at all and are unwilling to delete your hoarded urls because you’re worried that it’s going to delete your whole blog (understandable, I don’t trust tumblr either)
Anyway, I went through and deleted like five sideblogs immediately after the female presenting nipples announcement and at no point did my main even flicker, so there’s a datapoint if you’re looking for it.
If you want to delete a blog go to “account,” click on the sideblog, click on “edit appearance,” scroll all the way to the bottom where you’ll see a grayed-out button that says “delete [BLOGNAME]?”, once click that button it’ll prompt you to enter your password and ask again if you’re sure you want to delete, click “Yes” and that’s it, you should be done.
Also like. If you make a second account, not blog, ACCOUNT under a new email, you can add the account as an admin and migrate the blogs over
