Having her body type doesn’t offer much in the way of form-flattering ensembles. For one, her chest erred on the side of flat, so filling out bikinis proved harder than it should’ve been. For two, her stature was... fun-sized. It was hard finding anything in the woman’s section that didn’t fall off her shoulders, or slip under her feet while she walked.

Ruffles seemed like a safe way to go. It doesn’t make her any less self-conscious, showing that much skin (there’s a mantra in her head saying temptations of the flesh), but she doesn’t expect anyone to remember the way she looked a week from today. Alisa is out for fun, friends and sunshine! That’s all that matters.

(Even if she’s a little anxious...)

e hele mai ʻoukou | siluka & alisa

[ @blueclematis ]

•。 ❀ 𝒯ransitioning the role of leadership in any hierarchy of an establishment - especially if abrupt - is imminent for potential catastrophe within its functionality; yet, despite the quickness in Siluka assuming ownership of the Celestia Church, her dedicated and faithful peer Alisa - or now considered one of her employees - took it in strides of grace and class without missing a beat. Because of her unconditional support during this process and unwavering commitment to upholding the mission of the church for the people of this land, the priestess was grateful - and, quite honestly, indebted to her for her efforts and sincerity in everything that she does. Although it was not simple for her to be open with her emotions and share intimacy - platonic or not - with another individual, the celebration of the Flower Festival posed as the perfect opportunity to do something small for the strawberry blonde.

𝒲ith that in consideration, Siluka returned to the church promptly from Town Hall with one Pink Lisianthus in hand - quietly approaching Alisa at the altar where the sunlight shed through the stained glass windows in variegated colors unto the young woman.

Image

“𝒜loha Alisa,” Siluka shattered the silence, followed by her hand extended forward with the bloomed flower. “Ma’halo. Your hard work is valued. The church is able to serve these people because of your contributions.”

Ceremonial altars, though often respected as a place of worship for the Gods, is normally a time of reflection for Alisa. The way to worship the Goddess was through atonement, or as Nathan had taught her through years of tutoring firsthand. It was all rooted in your faith; in the deities you praised, whether it was a blue-haired goddess, an ancient dragon, or even shrines for gods desecrated and forgotten in the forests of time.

Lately, Alisa’s been finding her faith in question more often.

It’s almost hilariously sacrilegious to think about. The pillar of unwavering conviction, and here she reflects, in the sanctum of the place where she questions her credence. A kaleidoscope of colours bathes her in light from the mural she venerates, but even the picturesque windows seem mocking in this moment rather than beautiful.

Lost in the depths of her own thoughts, Alisa hadn’t heard the quiet echo of footsteps on the Church’s marble floor. It isn’t until Siluka’s soft voice cuts into her self-reflection that she jumps slightly, startled by her sudden appearance-- and immediately brought to laughter over her own surprise.

Image

“Oh-- haha, thank you, Siluka. I didn’t notice you, my apologies.”

It’s a beautiful flower. It makes her feel terrible that she didn’t think to pick up something in her busy state, but she’s still ever-so-appreciative that her employer brought her a gift for the festival. It feels like just yesterday they were in training together.

“It’s gorgeous! You’ll have to let me make it up to you, sometime. I’ve just been so busy with all the charity work, the date completely slipped past me.”

A Purr-fect Spot of Tea || Georgia & Alisa

[🐎] — Georgia smiles warmly at her subtle, but noticeable shift in demeanor, bringing her cup of tea up for another sip. Her friend led such a humble existence, and the rancher respected that. Although she wasn’t a sister, she also held onto a strong faith— it was a powerful, beautiful thing. So it wasn’t something she wanted to disrespect, or undermine.
But… “It’s okay to want somethin’ for yourself every once in a while, you know? I think you could really benefit from having an animal friend in your life.”
She chuckles. And it wasn’t because she was trying to make a sales pitch for her shop, either. Animals were so much more than… transactions. Every single creature Georgia kept in her care was precious to her, and she loved them all deeply. All she wanted was the best for them, whether that meant being safe with her, or finding wonderful homes with a new, loving owner.
And Alisa? It was clear that she loved animals too, so Georgia knew the other girl would treat any animal in her care with the utmost love and respect.
Georgia watches as Momo curls up in Alisa’s lap, no doubt relishing in her warmth. She smiles. Big mood, kitty. “You’d do great with a cat. Just look at you and Momo! You’ve only known each other for a few minutes, and you’re already goin’ together like biscuits and gravy!”
She gives a hearty laugh, wooden chair creaking a little as she reclines in her seat. Ah, she should really have one of the carpenters take a look at that. “Plus they’re cute, intelligent, reserved… I think they’d fit your pace quite nicely.”

One of the things Alisa admired most about Georgia was her skill in persuasion. The more she talks about it, the more it sounds like a good idea, despite Alisa’s initial hesitance.

“If you think it might be beneficial...” perhaps she’d have to consider keeping an eye out during one of her shifts at the shelter. It might be a little embarrassing, asking Georgia if she could keep one for herself, but if she could get over her aversion to asking things of others she knows her friend wouldn’t shut her down immediately.

Though as cute as her comparison to biscuits and gravy is, Alisa feels like she’s being complimented as something cute and intelligent herself. It might not be the case, as she has a natural aversion to compliments as well, but the thought that such adorable creatures could fit her pace is a nice thought.

Image

She covers her face briefly with both hands in modesty, a little embarrassed having not anticipated her comment. Her palms cover her red face, but her shy giggle speaks for itself.

“I guess I might have to reconsider if I can find a h-home instead of an apartment...”

Perhaps she would post a notice in seeking a roommate. It’s kind of exciting to think of making changes in her life for the betterment of herself, even if it’s a little daunting at the same time. Nothing she hasn’t faced before when she departed from the convent, however, and now she has a friend for support.

Underwater || Open

Alisa was born soft. It was natural compassion that lead her to empathize deeply with her surroundings, to try and help where she could, to feel things and feel them so strongly it resonated within the core of her very being. The first step to being a helpful member of society was learning how pain felt, and how that pain felt for others.

That is to say, Alisa felt a little too much. When someone came into Fantastic Flowers with a plant that was looking particularly sickly, she took it upon herself to care for it, watering and tending to its soil day in and day out. It was only natural that she tried her best, but her best wasn’t enough.

The leaves didn’t return to their normal green. Ph levels of the soil were natural for its species, she used feeding supplements on a daily basis, she even left it on the window sill where it could get as much sunlight as possible-- and still, she could find little change in its health over the course of a week.

Alisa put too much hope in it. It’s the start of her shift on a relatively slow day, and the first thing she notices is the plant she was caring for, now dead and shedding its leaves into the pot below. The natural process of life coming to an end, but Lisa can feel her heart crack, the minuscule tendrils of something broken creeping across her chest.

What kind of healer can’t even save a plant?

Image

It starts with a sniffle, and then a short, hitching sob. The fog that clouds her is a canopy, draped thick across her heart and seeping up into the back of her throat. Wiping her dark blue eyes free of tears, they only start to water again, spilling over like waves crashing against a dam. The tide inside her is restless, stirred with the storm of her failure.

How silly, getting this upset over a plant-- but they were living, breathing things. This one relied on her to help it, and she couldn’t even do that right, the voice in her head a constant mantra of self-depreciating commentary.

Maybe if I was better... maybe if I had tried harder...

Flower Festival || Kiel

[Bouquet of Purple Iris & White Peonies]

@gossipkieller

When Alisa went to City Hall to request a delivery for a mister Kiel, she was surprised to find out that not only was he a tabloid journalist, but she also knew where he worked pretty well. It would be strange, showing up at his place of employment at the Grand Oak Library unannounced, but perhaps if she just left it there for him it’d be passed on down the line...

Image

Nibbling away at her bottom lip with nervous apprehension, Alisa places the irises and peonies in her arms on the library’s checkout desk, prepared to leave behind her note addressed to his name and the flowers made in subtle peace offering.

Kiel,
I hope this isn’t too much, but I thought of you this festival and decided to bring you something. When I find green flowers, I’ll tell you first!
~ Alisa.

Just as she addresses all of her letters with her own special touch, her doodles this time are that of their first meeting, just in case he didn’t remember her name offhand., from the pepto-bismol coloured flowers to the messy depiction of the flower shop sign.

Flower Festival || Kamil

[Bouquet of Blue Delphiniums & Pink Roses]

Alisa remembers fondly how he surprised her with her favourite flowers. Her coworker was a little on the solemn side, and while that wasn’t an issue for her, it certainly swept her off her feet for a minute or several... not that it meant anything, but the sentiment behind it was a sweet and gentle form of gratitude she could still find joy in.

Image

The letter and bouquet of flowers she leaves on his desk is pretty and sophisticated, forgoing her usual doodles-- except for one. It’s a flower at the bottom, baby’s breath in lieu of a signature.

Kamil,
It’s been a privilege getting to know you. I can only hope this bond will strengthen, as your heart outshines the stars.

It doesn’t sound too sappy or emotional, she decides. After rereading it a dozen times, purpose outweighed anxiety, and she left it behind to finish her shift without the weight of her words on her shoulders.

Flower Festival || Kana

[Bouquet of Orange Gerberas & Sunflowers]

It’s a good thing she had plenty of time to prepare for this holiday, unlike the previous festival. Kana was kind enough to give her something in spirit of the festivities, and she’s overwhelmingly happy to finally return the sentiment with something more traditional to the islands. It’s imperative Kana gets one of her first letters, as he comes first in many other aspects of her life often.

image
Brother Bear,
My world is dark without you, but only because your presence is a light in my life I could never replace. If I had to express what you mean to me, I could fill a book with all the things I love about you, so I’ll try to keep it short and simple:
I appreciate you, I adore you, I love you and I love you and I love you.
~ Lisa.

This letter is one she’s drawn with horses and unicorns aligning the page, just as a personal touch and some creativity to make it more her own. If she could staple her heart to the paper and send it to him she absolutely would, he has a piece of it regardless.

Flower Festival || Georgia

[Bouquet of Orange Alstromeria & Sunflower]

There’s something about writing letters that feels wholesomely authentic, and it’s only natural that she feels herself getting overemotional at the idea of writing something true to her herself. Especially after such a nice gesture as the white Alstromeria currently sitting in her windowsill, bathing in the sun’s warm glow just like her overwhelming love for a close friend.

image
Dearest Friend,
I can’t describe what I feel for you in simple conversation. The appreciation and gratitude I have for you isn’t so easily depicted in words! I won’t go on forever about it, but I really do love you, most especially just for being you. I’m looking forward to seeing Momo, but I’m looking forward to having tea with you the most.
~ Your friend, Lissy.

The paper she used is adorned with the scribbling of various animals, cows and squirrels and horses lining her letter. There’s a shoddy drawing of a cat with the word “Momo” pointing toward it, clearly not so easily discerned by the image alone. Well, at least she’s not an artist.

white day ; alisa

Post related here.

And of course, he makes his away to the Church for a close and dear friend. She should be here around this time, and he wanted to send some prayers anyway. Once he was done with his prayers, he approaches the ever diligent nun, interrupting her from her work to give a little present.

“I’m here to scare off anyone who’s attempting to give you any chocolates or flowers- and if you gave someone a gift last Valentines and they don’t show up, You can bet I’ll drag their ungrateful lil butts here to apologize.“ As usual, he was being overly dramatic with how protective he was with Alisa. He was just half-kidding, of course. But the thought still stands. “I’m just messing with ya, Alisa. I actually came by for this–”

Image

He hands her the bouquet of peonies, ruffling her bangs right after wards. “–I wasn’t around when Valentines came, so treat this as an incredibly late gift, yeah?”

There’s very little to bide her time with after chores within the church, so having a friend stop by and tear her away from the monotony of things is a pleasant surprise. It’s an even more pleasant surprise when he gifts her with peonies, toying with her hair afterwards in a way that makes her breathe a feigned huff.

Not that she minds, not really. The smile on her face is larger than life as she appreciatively accepts his gift, not as shy in his presence as she is with a vast majority of others.

“I’ll treat it as double-gifts. Twice the sentiment,”

Image

Amusingly enough, the gift she meant to give him is tucked away neatly in a cute satchel, decorated with a horse she embroidered from scratch. It’s not the most finely-made craft project, but it’s better than nothing and holds a casual skill in every stitch.

“I didn’t have time to make you anything this year, but I figured you could get lots of curry with this instead.”
