Yesterday, I accidentally spilled coffee on the guy my parents are pushing on me. He got so angry he shoved me; I dropped the pot and hit my head on the floor. I was kept at the hospital overnight. He told my mother I fell and she fully believes him. He raises his voice a lot, too. I was confined overnight and I now have bruises. Guess this is karma for existing. Wish I had Lin around ala-Adam's Rib. Sometimes escaping through literature will have to do.
Hey, friend, so first of all I’m glad that you came and talked to us about this because it’s important that you talk about it. We both hate that you’re in this situation with our entire hearts and although we know we can’t do much, we want you to know that we’re here and we care about you.
You deserve more than to be treated this way by anyone and I’m sorry that your mother doesn’t believe you, but you have to do what’s best for you to keep yourself safe and out of harm’s way. I know that you know this already and I know it’s not that simple, and I also know I’m not an expert.
However, I’m going to give you some resources that might be more helpful:
National Domestic Violence Hotline (USA): 1-800-799-7233
National Dating Abuse Helpline: 1-866-331-9474 (click the link to chat via text rather than phone)
Safe Horizon violence hotline: 800-621–HOPE (4673).
Safe Horizon - For help with sexual assault: 212-227-3000.
TDD machine for hearing impaired people for all Safe Horizon hotlines: 866-604-5350.
this is the National Suicide Prevention Hotline: 1-800-273-8255 (and there’s also a place to chat on their website if you aren’t into making phone calls)
I know these are all USA based, so here is a website that has places to call internationally: http://togetherweare-strong.tumblr.com/helpline
We love you, keep fighting
