I’m retracing my steps

through this love we shared

all the moments we felt free

to just be alive

side by side —

and laughing at the air

I would have loved

to linger in that magic

for awhile.

How long will this remain in my veins,

the feeling of you? the moon has already

come and gone in her phases

and I’m still left here

feeling your pulse while I’m barely alive —

just tell me did you know all this time

Burden to carry; I want

To lay myself down

How long will this remain in my veins,

It takes everything in me

To remain in the present here with you

To stop myself from slipping

Into my desires & daydreams

You

In all your tender devouring beauty

Your bold alluring charm

I gravitate to your touch

As you coax novel feelings from my chest

Hope stumbles forward like a newborn fawn

& I must confess

I yearn to unfold for you

To soften my shoulders

To release myself from an endless burden of vigilance

I want to lay my reckless heart in your lap

So that you might caress my broken pieces

With warm circling fingers

& gently whispered praise.

Instead of all the eggs in one basket,

Don’t put all your love into a single soul,

Because if they go, you’ll never know

And who can live with an empty heart

Without falling apart and into the same one

That ran away with all your love from the start

And let yourself soak in, cause each drop says

What I feel for you- all the ways.

The rain falls the same way I fall for you,

Unapologetically over and over

every surface they hit

My feelings like raindrops they hover,

Drenching me in you, with the desire to leap closer and closer.

Remember me on rainy days,

The scent of rain, the sound of rain

When every drop keeps crashing,

I hope you feel it as a touch of me against your skin like soft caressing.

It’s the chance for you to feel me,

On rainy days,

Cause somewhere along it hidden, my love stays

Hoping to make you feel what my heart conveys.

I heard your love in vines that grew wild,

they whispered softly in my ear

as if you placed a gentle flower there

tucked behind it,

and I remembered the way

you used to say you loved me,

now all I have is the vines and trees

to remind me.
