"Oh but its so cold-" vampires literally wouldn't care. They would be attracting their victims by being dressed too lightly and people would be all like "oh no you are too cold, you are already cold to the touch, come inside" and then the vampire could be all "bleh!"

How long the elder vampire in these vampire couples had to wait to find their canon mate. When you look at it this way, Edward really didn’t have it so bad…  (We don’t know exactly when Victoria met James, but she was turned in the 1560s and he wasn’t turned until 1805, so if she met him a few years after he turned it would be about 250.  It could have been more. And however he felt about her, she loved him. Likewise we don’t have an exact date for Kate’s turning, but she’s around 1000 years old)
