The heavy guitar riff of Iron Maiden blared out from the car speakers as Asha stumbled away from the wreckage, her joy ride cut short by a cat that had run out across the road. Now her newest toy that she had borrowed was smoking under the tree that she had crashed in to, and the guitar riff was, in her opinion, making the perfect ‘walk away from shit’ bad guy music. She hadn’t meant to crash, in fact she had actually wanted to drive the car to the next town over to get some fireworks, but the cat had other ideas and as it sat across the road from her grooming its paw as if it hadn’t ruined her fun, Asha could do nothing but pout as she limped in the direction back to town.
Maybe she should have listened to pop? Nah!
Reaching up to touch her head, she flinched in pain as her fingers came away sticky with warm blood. It wasn’t that bad of a hit, more just a bump but it had been enough to give her a slight headache and a cut above her eye. Not the worst injury she had ever gotten, but still annoying as she continued to have to blink the blood out of her eye. “Stupid fucking…” She grumbled to herself as she continued to make her way towards the outskirts of the town, at least she hadn’t managed to get far, and maybe someone she knew in town would have some fireworks she could buy.
Stumbling a little she paused on the side of the road, shaking her head to try and calm the throbbing headache as a car approached her. Squinting, she tried to work out if she knew the person or not, but in the end decided to just wave at them any way to try and get them to stop. “Come on, come on… Take pity on the poor…” She paused to make sure her dagger was still in her pocket before waving again.
“The poor, innocent girl.”
