“Foreplay is when I grab someone’s thigh, nuzzle their neck, bite their ear, suck on their neck or anything else within reach of my mouth, finger them, and for some, when I lick them into oblivion. Clearly you werne’t paying attention last time, or else this is a very strange way to ask for a refresher. This is me killing a few minutes. Don’t start to think you’re actually important.” He bounded down the stairs, pausing at the bottom to swipe a bottle of beer from one of his frat brothers walking by. “Also,” he added, swiveling on his heel at the bottom of the stairs, “I never claimed it was my business nor do I give a shit. You came up with that conclusion on your own. It’s literally impossible for me to careless because I don’t care at all.” He reached over and slammed his palm against the top of the beer bottle on the railing. It popped off into his hand and he took a swig. “I was just making a point.”

That was the thing about Aiden, how he seemed to infuriate her-- how he turned the girl who was usually so peppy and gracing a smile, to frown and roll her eyes more than she thought imaginable. Though moments ago any description he may have mentioned when it came to actions of teasing sparked a few images in her mind, she swiftly brushed them away-- choosing not to get sidetracked. She couldn’t help but roll her eyes automatically at his spectrum of how little he cared, which didn’t bother as such, because she too didn’t care about what he got up to, but it was the nature of their conversation that seemed to lure her into a childish debate. Leading down the staircase also, she quirked a brow as he spoke, shaking her head a little. “If you don’t care, don’t make comments. Just ignore people, and their actions it’s just that easy.”

“Don’t be so proud. Being so susceptible to outside influences only capitalizes on a weak mind.” He paused for a minute, his head tilting to the side. “Though that does explain a lot where you’re concerned.” His eyes narrowed for a moment, catching her looking at him only to drift upwards for a fleeting moment. Not that he expected any less, second-glances were commonplace and normal. When it came to her, though, half the time he wanted to give her another reason to look and half the time he wanted to stab her eyeballs out with a rusty fork. It was an interesting combination to feel at once. Sooner or later the scale would tip to one side or the right; right now he was leaning towards the former. Not that he’d be the first to crack. “You say that to me like you actually have something to do. Mattress surfing doesn’t count.”
As soon as his mouth began to move, Vance could feel her patience wearing thin. It was apparent that every time they spoke he always had to have the last word, twisting what she had said in order to make it negative. All in all, he seemed to have a knack for turning her points into a way of showing how powerless she was, or how unpopular she seemed to fall from him-- not that she listened, it was obviously a defense mechanism and Vance wasn’t one to be torn down by petty words, especially considering they were merely his opinion, which was low on her part. Despite the urge to argue with her further, she inhaled a sharp breath, choosing to take the high ride regardless of how hard he seemed to make that for her. Sarcasm was a language that Vance was fluent in, and when it came to Aiden it was a recurring thing. With a forced smile twisting on her face she shook her head a little, lifting her arm to grip her fingers tight around her bag strap. “I don’t know if this is some kind of foreplay for you, but I’m not indulging in.. Whatever this is. I actually have somewhere to be, which is none of your business.” Oh no she couldn’t leave it there. “..Neither is where I sleep, and who I sleep with for that matter, so keep your opinions to yourself.”

“Oh? I’ll remember that then.. It’s good to know..” she licked her lips and nodded “Of course - like you said, you’d rather go straight to the point.. So would I..  hence why I asked.. Then again you’d rather answer the simple question so maybe you still do want to be a bit of an engima Vance..” she purred and laughed softly “Do you really need to ask?” she gestured to her hair and then waved her hand dismissively. “Black.. Boring but classic. And you can wear it with everything” she joked and sipped her drink “Go on, ask me your worst…”

The one thing Vance was good at, was avoiding anything to do with talking about her personal life, along with anything that remotely involved expressing how she really felt when it came to feelings. In this case, given the nature of their exchange, it was more than easy for Vance to fall into her usual persona of being flirtatious, to her advantage in getting to know the cerise haired girl, as well as avoiding the topic at hand. Although alot of witty comebacks instantly came to mind, she nodded her head softly before shifting herself off of the edge of her seat-- heels clattering on the wooden floor. She took a few steps forward, edging herself towards her face, before she slipped her arm over onto the bar top, leaning down to the female with a grin clearly plastered on her face. “How about a dance, sugar?”

Too Close For Comfort || Vance & Hunter

Avatar

He didn’t mind one bit to continue with the game, because the way Hunter saw it, something much interesting was happening right now. He wouldn’t go as far as to say they were bonding or any shit like that but it was definitely something. Vance was hesitant at first and he began to think she wouldn’t say much more, that maybe he was pushing her too far, after all he never knew when to stop pushing and was well aware it was one of his many flaws. He knew that but was sure as hell he wouldn0t change his ways any time soon. As Vance got more comfortable, more relaxed, Hunter knew he “won” and would get her to keep talking. And he listened; something that had always characterized him since he was young, hence most if not all his foster sibling would always run to him for advice. No matter if he had sneered at them trying to make them fuck off, in the end he’d sit and listen.
Nodding slowly at the pieces of information as she drummed his fingers on the table, a corner of his lips twitched up in the smallest of the smiled and he also wondered why was it that she chose those things to tell him instead of something else. He didn’t know what to think about the fact she had never been in love, not sure whether to believe that bit or not. Of course, she’d turn the question on him. Scratching a side of the beard, Hunter thought of what to tell her. “Let’s see… Uh… I love music, it’s been my… lifesaver, you could say. I used to stutter when I was a kid an my mom said reading poetry would help it, and it did. I like cooking, I’m pretty good at it. I was about to drop high school once but one of my foster siblings who was now a drug addict living in the street told me not be ana idiot and that he’d beat the shit outta me if he found out I dropped school.” He made a pause, pursing his lips and running his tounge over his teeth, not sure if he should tell him something that not many knew. Taking a sip of beer, he leaned back over the sofa. “That’s it.”

The one thing that spilled out of Vance’s mouth so fluently was the fact she’d never experienced what it was like to be in love. It was an interesting fact for her to add, especially for only Hunter to hear, she wasn’t sure why it was important to mention. Despite that fact, deep down it was something she wanted, though would never admit it. It was interesting, the emotions that Vance felt when she was around the raven haired male, things that she wasn’t familiar with, most certainly not nerves-- but announcing things about her that were somewhat of a mystery moments ago was a little daunting for her. Though if she was  going to tell anyone, it would most certainly be him.

She nodded her head softly as she listened to his points, lifting her arm to rest her elbow against the table, in turn her chin on her palm as she kept her focus on him. Her eyes were darting over his face as he spoke, noticing the changes in his expression and tone as he did so, it was mildly fascinating to her. Once he’d finished, announcing ‘that’s it’ Vance couldn’t help but want to know more, there must be more to Hunter than she was telling him, but she was never one to push someone-- she knew if they wanted to talk, they would on their own terms. She was a little loss for words, also something she wasn’t used to, and for some reason seeing a more vulnerable, raw side of him just made him more attractive to her. Clearing her throat as she tilted her chin up, her eyes darting back to the game she bit on her lower lip briefly. “What a coincidence-- I like food, you like cooking..” It briefly crossed her mind the image of him in an apron and nothing else, but that was something he’d have to figure out himself by the smirk that began to show, twisting at the corners of her lips.

Lola: Can't wait! For moving and spilling details.
Lola: Mm dunno, I don't know him that well to say where he's like to go. You'll have to figure it out by yourself. When you have some ideas I can help you choose the best one.
Lola: Fine. He better not. I'm trusting you.
Vance: Bring it along with my food and booze and we'll be having a good night in I think (;
Vance: I didn't mean where, I meant how. There is no possible way you can suggest something like that to someone, without making it sound like it's got romantic intentions. Unless it's like hey, wanna fuck on the beach, I hear it's great in (insert place here) ?

“Black coffee is envious of me,” he replied to the quirk of her mouth. He couldn’t say he was surprised to see her strolling down the hall. If his frat bros wanted his sloppy seconds, they had a decent sized trail to follow to their heart’s content. He twisted his key in the lock and then jiggled the handle to be sure it was indeed closed. For all he knew he could return and have a surprise guest—he glanced at Vance out of the corner of his eye—and there were very few people whose appearance after classes wouldn’t bother him. Some people were crazy enough to find their way in. It wouldn’t be the first time. He hooked his bag over his shoulder and headed for the stairs. “Are you always so pungent?”

Guess you just bring it out in me..” She quirked her brow a little as a hybrid between an over exaggerated grin and a smirk seemed to curl across her rosy lips. Her steps came easy to her, it was almost like it was automatic, as much as she hated to admit it she was drawn to him in a way she couldn’t explain-- considering the majority of their words exchanged were digs and witty comments. Her eyes roamed over him for a moment, he definitely brought out this agitation in her that she hadn’t felt towards anyone else before, he seemed to get under her skin with such ease. This was the first time she had come into a close proximity to him since their adventure in the library, which she couldn’t believe had actually occurred-- though it didn’t matter how much he annoyed her she couldn’t deny her attraction to him, unless it was outloud, that was a no go. “Lovely catching up, but I’ve got somewhere to be..”

Too Close For Comfort || Vance & Hunter

Avatar
vance--b
Trying to stop a smirk from showing, Hunter realized it was the first time she had used his name, not that reidiculous nickname she had been using ever since they met or the nickname he went by at work and mostly everywhere else and it sounded different in her lips, better, he couldn’t remember when someone, less a woman had pronounced his name like she just had. Even if she only stressed it to make a point. A point which was accurante. It didn’t matter she told him about her family, and that he now knew her major was pretty much insignificant as well. And after a long time, Hunter found himself wanting to know a person; it wasn’t like his other friendships where little by little, just casually, he gradually got to know the other person but now he actually wanted to talk with Vance and find out more about her. Not that he complained about the part he did know.
The realization shook him a tad. Looking at her, the brunette looked maybe somewhat annoyed about his previous comment. “Well, tell me about you, then. This is a  fucking long game when two are playing so…” His brows went up, expecting an answer. The musician thought she might tell him more about her now the hard shit was of common knowledge between them.

Despite the fact Vance had already told Hunter one of the more personal things about her, there was nothing else she couldn’t share that was half as bad but the thing was there was a part of her that didn’t want to. As much as she didn’t like to admit the fact she was enjoying getting to know him, she was worried that she was going to shatter the way he saw her. Even though she was pretty convinced that he still found her attractive regardless of her past and he wouldn’t have asked if he didn’t want to know– he didn’t seem like that type of guy. Pondering for a moment to herself as she fiddled with the dice inbetween her fingertips she decided to hell with it– she was going to play along.

With the game temporarily on hold she tilting her head, glancing back at him in the dim light of her apartment, which was lit only by a few candles around– leaving the scent of vanilla and spice lingering. “Hmm, alright.” She wrinkled her nose playfully, finally placing the dice into the middle of the board, before shifting back to where she was sat before, legs straight out infront of her. “What is there to know?” She teased, pulling a thoughtful expression before a carefree giggle arose out of her, dimples beginning to shine through. “Just going to bore you with the details now.” She shrugged as if it was nothing, but truth be told she was incredibly nervous opening up, even if it was just little things that most people knew, he didn’t, and it made her anxious telling him. “I love Italian food– but honestly I just love food, my favourite colour is green, I shattered my wrist when I was fourteen, falling off of my bike trying to do a trick, I can speak quite a bit of french, I love comedy films, I have never been in love– fall is my favourite time of year. Good ‘nough for you? Roles reverses, Zaccadelli, start talking.”
