1 Corinthians 13:13 ˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

it's weird to think that christianity is literally based on love and yet there are so many hateful christians out there. i've observed that the christians who are hated by others for their sexuality, gender, nationality and stuff are the most loving. it's like they just understand? if you're one of them, i want to remind you these words: "you may be rejected by others, but not the Messiah". and if you're on the other side - please just stop. you don't even know how unworthy the people are feeling because of you. ask Lord to soften your heart. amen!

Personally I don’t know how anyone reads any Greek myths, particularly the Iliad and comes to the conclusion “the gods are good and worthy of my love and worship.” Seems counter intuitive. I don’t even think the Greeks liked doing that, it was more like lip service to a crime boss. They just didn’t want their gyro stands burnt down.

Gods being GOOD is, iirc, a Jewish peculiarity that Christendom spread to the rest of Western society.

gods were never worshiped for their goodness. It was an exchange relationship. I make sacrifices, you send rain. Done and done.

Exactly. Which is why I raise an eyebrow when neo-pagans start talking about having personal loving relationships with their supposed gods. Look if you’re gunna do this shtick you should be fearing for your life, like your ancestors did.

The way John looks at and listens to Gale when Gale is opening up emotionally, first about his dad and then expressing what they thought would be their last words.…we need to talk about more.

In both these scenes Gale is the one talking and Bucky is quiet, listening, a genuine hurt/sad look that we never see from Bucky, except here for Gale, so gentle and loving. Gale’s showing him a side that no one else gets to see. He’s hearing Gale’s pain and making him feel seen. It’s such a different side of Bucky, and his expressions here just reveal so much, his feelings as he’s listening. We can see him feeling Gale’s pain. That wince in the first one 💔

To quote @avonne-writes: “It really shows just how serious he can be. He listens. He’s attentive. And then, he tries to comfort Gale with gentle humour.”

I feel like that’s how he was able to reach Gale in the first place. He can be so gentle with him, which is something others couldn’t necessarily know that Gale needed.

“Jesus has never looked at you and wished He saw someone else” hits so different as a queer christian.
