This won’t make your blog look ugly. How could you not reblog this? REBLOGGING THIS COULD SAVE A LIFE!!!

This goes for assholes, too, guys. I know a couple who went tubing once, and they had to re-air their tubes, but the guy thought it would be funny to stick the tip of the air compressor up to her bikini trunks, the air ruptured something inside her and she died within thirty minutes.

WHAT?

The thing about this? It’s in every pregnancy book I’ve read.

WHAT?????

Why is it in pregnancy books but not sex ed books?

Because the men in charge only care about the health and safety of women in so far as it enables them to have babies.

Reblogging with a link because I thought this was a legit joke. Never heard it before. Like I knew you could kill a person by inserting air into a vein but still.

WHAT THE FUCL I hate how I didn’t learn this in sex Ed AT ALL

This is very true lol

This is potentially life saving information everyone should know.

No you guys this post helped me find my cat. He was missing for almost a month and I’ve had him for over 12 years. After seeing this I put his favorite blanket he always slept on outside hoping he would smell mine or his scent and he was back the next fucking day asleep on it.

When my cat got out, we called and called for him, and then, later that night, I remembered similar advice to this, and so put his little scratching pad, which he adores, on the front porch. Not even half an hour later, I heard a thump, opened the door, and there was his big butt, meowing at me.

Important and vital

I don’t care that I reblogged this today I’m reblogging it again

This is an exception to not being related to writing.

turkey and azerbaijan are attacking armenia right now, and it's 1915 all over again because the world is distracted and people are too busy wondering if they're gonna live or die, and who gives a shit about my country anyway? my mum told me to tell my friends and explain to them what's happening and that we are the victims in this war because azerbaijan is spreading lies and people are believing their lies and i told her, what good is that going to do? do you think anyone's going to come to our aid? is russia going to help us? is america? is england? erdogan said they will finish what their ancestors started, and he means genocide. he means ethnic cleansing. he means to massacre every last one of us. and in doing so admitted to the very same thing turkey has spent 105 years denying. i don't know who to tell and what good telling people will do because we're a small, insignificant country, and we have nothing to offer to the people in power, the handful who rule the world. so i sit here with my pain and i feel helpless. i know there's twitter threads and links to petitions and people being urged to contact their senators, and sorry if im being pessimistic, but azerbaijan has been attacking us for the last 22 years, and though we defend ourselves, we can't do anything to stop them. they've violated ceasefires (and geneva conventions) multiple times. i don't think they'll rest until every last one of us is dead.

we just want peace. we just want to live peacefully. we're not asking for a lot here.

hey either reblog this or unfollow me

Watching this happen I've been so scared there is going to be another genocide and nobody would notice. My whole life I've hated how forgettable armenian people seem to be to the world. Protect armenian people or rot, please don't turn a blind eye to us again. And same as above, reblog or unfollow.

here are some cold hard facts for those interested:

1. after losing the war in 1994, the az government spent the next nearly 30 years on a) dehumanizing armenians, b) blaming armenians and losing the war for the terrible socioeconomic state of the people in this oil-rich country while president and his family steal all of the money their oil produces, c) pushing armenophobic propaganda on the population since kindergarten age, d) oppressing and humiliating the other ethnic minorities living on its territories, e) regularly violating the ceasefire of 1994 whenever the internal situation get tense and the ppl get angry, f) selectively sending the youths of said ethnic minorities to the bloodiest parts of the frontline whenever said ceasefire violations happen, g) suppressing free speech, arresting journalists, harassing and threatening those who dare to voice their discontent, etc.

2. in early 1920s, josef stalin, in order to appease the new turkish "republic" and its leader ataturk, with the hopes of using turkey as the base for spreading the communist revolution further into asia, passed artsakh (also known as nagorno karabagh) with its 95% ethnic armenian population onto the new created turkic azerbaijan republic (a country that did not exist before 1918, that's what newly created means), despite the opposition from the people of the region in question and the republic of armenia.

3. during the 70 or so years that artsakh was part of the azerbaijan republic as an autonomous region, the gov of azerbaijan did everything they could to a) suppress the development of the region, b) change the demographic of the region by moving turkic population to artsakh

4. in 1980s, the people of artsakh, utilizing their rights stipulated in the soviet constitution, petitioned both moscow and baku to be allowed to reunite with armenia. as a response to this, the azerbaijan government started large-scale repressions against the organizers and activists of the reunification movement. arrests on made up charges, threats and violence followed (more info on all that in the link provided below)

5. the people of artsakh then held a referendum as was their right under soviet constitution, and more than 90% of it's population voted in favor of seceding from the azerbaijan republic. the response to this were the anti-armenian pogroms in baku and sumgait ( https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-1990-01-18-mn-305-story.html)

6. all this grew into the first artsakh war, which azerbaijan lost, as mentioned in point 1.

to sum it up: artsakh was never a part of the independent azerbaijan republic, during it's brief 70-year forced az control its indigenous armenian people were oppressed via various government policies, the people of artsakh deserve to live a free and happy life in their homeland, free of threats and fear of annihilation that is sure to happen if azerbaijan takes control of the region

to them, it's just a territory and they want that territory without the people.

for further reading, check out this comprehensive timeline of the artsakh history up to 2017( when it was written)

https://www.evnreport.com/spotlight-karabakh/spotlight-karabakh

then, this: on what actually happens to armenian lands and cultural heritage when it's in azerbaijani hands

https://www.latimes.com/entertainment-arts/story/2019-11-07/armenian-monuments-azerbaijan

while you are at it, read up on the armenian genocide and keep in mind that turkey, specifically for this war, moved syrian jihadists to azerbaijan to fight against armenia and artsakh. read up on the kind of internationally banned ammunition azerbaijan has been using against the civilians in artsakh capital, and then maybe make your judgement.

oh, and if anyone tries to frame this as an islam vs christianity thing, send them to hell, regardless of the side they claim to support, bc this isn't it.

I reblogged a post about this yesterday, but is there something we can do other than spreading awareness?

spreading awareness is HUGE because azeris are spreading lies (mainly on twitter bc apparently thats the only social media they're allowed to use atm? i haven't verified this but it checks out with the dictator in powet lol) and it's really really really important for us to counter their lies with FACTS. like there's far few of us and we don't have any bots lmao so it's really hard to get people to listen to us.

cardi b apparently made a post about it, talking about how there's a genocide going on in armenia, and azeris started harassing her so she sort of backtracked and said something like "i didn't know there was two sides to this" and like it's not the only person they've done this to!

this video on twitter actually explains their tactics (the girl in the video is basically translating azeri post) how they target people who speak out in support of armenia and make them rescind their support.

so yeah. it's important for us to fight against the misinformation. and i think i have no respect for any armenian person who chooses to not engage because the internet is our battlefield. this is where we fight because it's the least we can do. (note i said armenian person, because i don't think its fair to ask this of people who don't have a personal stake in this war).

terfs do not interact

update: genocide watch has declared emergency in Artsakh, placing azerbaijan at stage 9 (extermination) and stage 10 (denial)

This is Snopes-confirmed. Also be aware this is very common in sugar free food of many kinds. The retriever puppy who I know of who died of xylitol poisoning got hold of a pack of sugar-free gum.

Always good to remind folks - if it has xylitol, KEEP IT AWAY FROM DOGS! It induces profound hypoglycemia and liver failure and is life-threatening :(

Xylitol is also the typical ingredient in sugar free candies and some baked goods. Other names, if you’re checking labels:

What other names is Xylitol known by? Birch Sugar, E967, Meso-Xylitol, Méso-Xylitol, Sucre de Bouleau, Xilitol, Xylit, Xylite, Xylo-pentane-1,2,3,4,5-pentol.

Oh damn. I’mma watch out

Oh shit yea watch out yall.

We really are a police state.

It’s worse than that. That wasn’t a rubber bullet, that was another tear gas canister–you can see it a few seconds later in the footage when the camera pans over to the advancing cops.

And they shot him in the crotch with it.

If I were feeling charitable I’d say that the cop who fired the shell was aiming for center of mass and miscalculated the distance and hit the guy low.

But I’m not feeling charitable. It’s clear that was a deliberate malicious attack designed to hurt the guy as badly as possible with the weapon at hand. The goal was to cause him pain and intimidate bystanders.

this really is dystopic, isn’t it?

Shout out to the dude who came and helped him up

THIS IS WHY YOU BLACK BLOC. WHEN EVERYONE IS MASKED AND IN ALL BLOC, IT MAKES IT VERY DIFFICULT FOR THE POLICE TO TARGET INDIVIDUALS LIKE THIS

MASK UP, COME IN BLOC, BE PREPARED, YOU. COULD SAVE SOMEONES LIFE

Also get to know your street medics and maybe buy them a drink later. They’ll often be the ones picking you up and making sure you’re good after this shit happens

does anyone know what this graphic says in plain text please thanks

How To Do It: Black Block Tactics

Allow demonstrators to take action without fear of immediate identification. If you choose to wear a mask, wear it right.

Cover Up It is not enough to half cover your face. Even if you get away, the police may use photos or videos to charge you later. Cover your hair, face, arms and hands. Cloth gloves are the best. Take out piercings. Make sure there are no identifying features on your clothes, shoes or backpack. If you bring any materials with you, wipe them down first with rubbing alcohol first to get the prints off. Don’t bring anything you don’t need. Stay Tight If possible, come to a demonstration with a small group of people you trust. Choose your crew based on shared intentions, not just friendship. You’re here to have each other’s back in the streets and follow up if one of you gets arrested or hurt. Strangers needs to protect each other too. Stay physically close, do not spread out, so that if police try to enter the crowd, you can “accidentally” get in their way. The front of the march might need to slow down while the back catches up. Stay moving, though: a tight, mobile crowd is difficult to surround or disperse.

Plan Your Exit Always wear “civilian clothes” under your hoodie so you can de-bloc and blend in a crowd or smoothly walk away. Keep an eye out for danger zones and escape routes. If things heat up, stay calm and act decisively. Commit to your exit when you decide you’re done. Sometimes you have to sprint and hide; sometimes you just step onto the sidewalk and remove your mask. You can de-bloc in the middle of a friendly crowd if you’re sure you are well-screened. Keep It Quiet Bragging and storytelling are natural but they are easy to use against us. If you have to talk, choose someone trustworthy who was with you in the streets. Don’t post anything on facebook you wouldn’t show to a cop. Same goes for Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr. Remember the police will read your texts and call-log if they arrest you. Never, Ever Snitch If arrested, invoke your right to remain silent. Name, address and no more. Captioned under request.

thank you!!!

Since the 1960s, the number of babies available for adoption has steadily declined. The model many people prize as “ideal” is to adopt an infant as early as possible, so that it remembers no other parents, has no connections to any other culture or religious heritage, and can be raised, as much as possible, as though the child were a couple’s own biological child.

This has been an unspoken factor in a lot of conservative political decisions that don’t make sense on the surface, like restricting birth control and abortion while making raising a child as difficult and expensive as possible, or separating parents from children without even keeping track of which child belongs to which family.

You can see this agenda working in a lot of responses to “crises”, like the Sixties Scoop of Indigenous, Aboriginal, and Native American children, Operation Babylift in Vietnam in 1975, or people swarming Haiti in 2010 looking for orphans.

In all these cases, the “solution” to the “crisis” is to “save” children from unhappy lives in terrible conditions by giving them to, primarily, rich white Christian families, to be raised as conservative middle-class Christians.

It looks altruistic, but don’t assume it actually is; so long as a child has living family members, it’s often better for them to be with their families in a refugee camp in a warzone than to be separated, no matter how nice their new homes and new families are. (And the adoption industry has scrupulously avoided, whenever possible, gathering evidence on what it’s like to give up a child for adoption, much less having your children taken from you.)

That’s one of the things I’m actually really surprised and amazed hasn’t been pushed as a solution more often; it used to be such a huge narrative in the past, but the more we know about childhood trauma, the more resistance there is to  babyscoop tactics.

But if this is a fight you’re in on? Watch for this.

I am one of those children, though i was targeted racially in the sense that my parents wanted a white baby. I was adopted at 4 days old, through a private Xian agency that no longer exists, and know almost nothing about my birth mother and certainly don’t REMEMBER her.

I’m not saying my life would’ve definitely been better raised by a middle-class 17yo single mom, or that i’ve lost any connection to my culture through being a white kid adopted by white parents, but the fact that I was snatched up so quick, and that there was a waiting list so long for another kid that it took my parents FIVE YEARS to adopt another child the same way (my little sister) is… disturbing. It was Very Important to them that they adopt infants and in retrospect I’m honestly not sure why, and that’s DEEPLY disturbing to me.

yall know nazis did this with polish and jewish children with blond hair and blue eyes (read “someone named Eva”)

I don’t usually respond to threads but this topic about adopting“exotic” babies is honestly the most disturbing trend I’ve come across.

My parents work for a lot of wealthy families and every so often they come across rich, white families that have adopted babies that are very obviously only adopted because of certain features they have and not simply to adopt a child in need of a home.

One of these families was a couple who are D.I.Y and home improvement bloggers on Instagram. They had adopted their daughter, a Chinese baby girl born with albinism, specifically because she was “exotic” and “different”.

Obviously they’d deny it if asked, and they are planning to adopt another child but they are specifically looking for another Chinese baby with albinism. And they said that they’re on a waiting list for a child like that to be BORN.

Like the op said it seems altruistic until you look deeper into it :/

I’m Native American and when I was born my mom had to call her aunt to escort her to the car. My mom was being hounded by a white woman in a business suit who kept trying to give her blank checks in exchange for me. At one point the business lady tried to grab me from my mom when she was trying to get her keys out if her pocket. Luckily my great aunt was there. My mom says the lady kept talking about how cute I was and how I looked “just like a babydoll!”. It still creeps me out. I’ve met other Native women like my mom who also had people follow them the second they walked out of the hospital with their babies. I was born in 1996. And when my own daughter was born, a white nurse kept trying to be alone with my daughter saying she would “take care of her”. Might not sound creepy to some but it was the way she said it. She was a nurse and could have easily taken the hospital band off my daughter so it wouldn’t trip the alarm system. Yeah, the Native American hospital my daughter was born in, the same one I was born in, now has a system to keep babies from being stolen.
