I said it wasn’t surreal
That it was all Realism
Just the way I perceive reality
And
If people can’t see it
That’s their fault

Looking over

To steal themselves from dreams”

The rhythmic dance
Appeared to be
It
At last
But
It was the collapse
The release
Dissolved walls
Between
Survival & Defeat

To walk

In the drizzling rain

Not knowing he was an angel
And so
Got drunk

When they let you out of the hospital
You were afraid to come to my door
You should have known better
Than to think
I’d let a little madness
Get in the way

Got to get a new music making machine
Find the nectar
Honey sweet
Complete
In your own tears
Dried out petals
Falling seeds
From
Your sunflower eyes

Golden as sun’s bursting rays
Nestling into a crown for untouched blankets of snow
To move to rapture
Delight without measure
Possessive ocean
Sink in
Can’t swim
Am washed ashore
To starlit heaven
Sure
Our hearts & bodies
Were worn & weary
But
We were too preoccupied
With finding
New
Exhilarating failures
To be
Too concerned

Singing secret songs
They’ve decided to keep
To themselves

With colors
Yet to be discovered
