It is so so important to show that queer people have always existed and are allowed to live long, happy lives. Young queer people–especially those in conservative areas–need to know that being queer is not a death sentence. Despite the many struggles we have faced, throughout history there have always been queer lives filled with joy and love. and you will find yours.

This is a way to listen to changes to wikipedia. You are literally listening to knowledge being added to the world.

Pluck sounds are an addition, strings are subtractions, and the pitch says how how big the edit is. My heart shudders at this I love it so much.

This is so relaxing.

I hate that “eat in moderation” bullshit. I eat whenever I want. I don’t starve myself just because of “moderation”. Fuck that shit. If I’m hungry, I’m hungry. Period.

What always gets me is when someone reblogs a post I made about diet culture with an addition or tag saying "I hate diet culture! That's why I don't diet. I just eat in moderation 😊"

I just want to shake them by the shoulders and say "The diet culture is coming from inside the house!"

If you think you don't listen to diet culture but still live your life by the principle of "eat in moderation," you have a lot more diet culture you need to unlearn. And what I'm saying is not "You must eat until you're painfully full!" What I'm saying is that "moderation" is consciously making decisions to not listen to your body and decide what you need and how much instead by what you've been taught is "normal." This is why diet culture uses the word "moderation" to sell diets and products. What you want is intuitive eating and whatever you need to do to adjust intuitive eating for your health needs. THAT is the absence of diet culture. And that means trusting your body to lead, not a society that believes starvation is cool.

“Thats why I don’t diet. I just eat in moderation.” Like do they hear what they’re saying??? Do they read the words they type out??? That’s still dieting!

"It's not a diet, I'm just carefully and constantly monitoring the volume and nutritional content of what I'm eating," is what I told myself when I was most concerned with maintaining a certain body shape and size, but "it's not an 'eating disorder.' Those are bad. I just don't see food in a morally neutral light."

I have told myself these lies. They sapped all the joy from food and I felt bad about eating more than three baby carrots at a time.
