Have I mentioned lately how much I hate the Windows operating system?

I started using PCs back in the MS-DOS days, before Windows was unleashed on the unsuspecting public, and I found each new version harder to work with than the last.

I long ago changed to Macs for everything else, but since the auto racing simulation game I play (Assetto Corsa Competizione) only runs on Windows I have a Windows gaming PC. The only thing this PC does is run this sim. It took me days to figure out the settings so that everything worked, well, most of the time. Sometimes it took a few tries to get the VR headset to connect properly, sometimes it was the sound that took awhile, but I could always get everything to play nicely together - until this afternoon.

Yesterday it worked fine, today it doesn't. This kind of thing doesn't happen with Macs by the way.

I found that Windows had changed some of the settings without asking my permission. Once I get everything back to working again, how do I lock them in place?

This time I took screenshots 🙄
