So I watched this video last night, right. Lil weird, huh. But afterwards I was in a really weird mood. Not bad, no, not depressed or anything, just very...odd. Turns out a new muse was brewing, alike the man in the video in name and face only, but a creature much more than a mortal hitman,

If you’re interested, go give him a look/follow over here:

Proper promo coming in a minute.

ooc: I’m not in a bad mood tonight, but i’m in a weird mood? I don’t know that I am feelin’ this cuddly ball of pastry dough. I’m feeling something darker(and also something modern/more modern), and like...i have a (barely used) Hannibal blog, a Will Graham blog, Lucifer(from the fox show), and an Ilya from Man From UNCLE, but I’m not sure if i wanna go on one of them or if I want to make a new blog for the vague guy who’s developing right now. Mads FC because I have a /problem/ and his name is Mads Mikkelsen.

But... yeah. Message me here if you want, i’ll have the window open. And if you want to follow any of those or my OCs(a sweet empath, a salty Irish Werewolf or a former Black slave vampire--who i really haven’t indie!rp’ed yet) lemme know

“I really prefer wizard. M’mum’s a witch.” Shannon spoke matter of factly before pressing a palm to his head. There was most certainly going to be another report with his name stamped in red on it. No doubt Tina would be on his case – to her credit, it wasn’t unwarranted. The doctor put his wand gingerly back into his white jacket before placing his hands on his hips.
“Well, we’re already deep enough down this rabbit hole – I’m a wizard, have been all my life. We’re supposed to keep it secret, you know. International Statute of Secrecy and what not.” Shannon tapped his foot, unwilling in absolute entirety to obliviate his friend.
“Any chance you’re feeling some deja-vu?”

“Right, sure.” As if he wasn’t having a hard enough time processing what the heck had just gone on in front of him, the magic doctor was bein’ sarcastic at him. Jacob wasn’t trying to be rude or anything, but this was a lot to handle in such a short span of time. Besides the fact that his brain was suddenly a painful place to be, and he felt like something was trying to push its way out--but what, he wasn’t sure.

He listened, not believing a word of it. “Statute of secrecy. Uh uh. What’s dangerous about it? Someone gonna poke you with that pointy stick?” Deja vu? Why was the doctor asking about.... He glanced over at the demiguise again,  squinted his eyes as something slipped through.

“These things...they’re real. they can go invisible, too, but... but that ain’t real, it can’t be.” I ain’t got the brains to think this up repeated through his head again and again, and vague, foggy memories of where he’d said it, but it was difficult. “I think I gotta sit down, my head’s killin’ me.”

Newt had never really given much thought to how Muggles went about their lives. He’d chosen Care of Magical Creatures, after all, not Muggle Studies. But, CLEARLY, there was a lot more to them than most wizards realised.
And there was a lot more to Jacob, too. Underneath his bold-as-brass exterior was a kind, hard-working soul, one that wanted to open a bakery on his own merits. Newt couldn’t help but admire his INTEGRITY — it was something a lot of people took for granted these days.
“I wish I could help you. But I suppose you can’t do much with Galleons and Sickles,” he said, shrugging. “Do you have to stay at the canning factory?”

“I don’t even know what those are, Newt,” he said with a bit of a chuckle. It was appreciated, the offer that almost-was, though Jacob probably wouldn’t have taken it even if Newt told him he was very rich, and that the money was little more than a drop in the pond to him. He could take a loan from the bank, he couldn’t take money from a friend.

He sighed, “I mean, if I don’t, I gotta find another job, but nothin’s really hiring right now, and no one wants a hefty guy like me, even if he came home from the war. I got no real good skills except bakin’, dunno where I’d go if I left the cannery for anythin’ else but openin’ a bakery.”

he so oh so clumsy and unsure of himself when they dance. feet step on hers more often than not, and more than once she has to pull him back to dance with her, saying he is doing so much better. but this..this is sweet and pure magic. she chuckles at his words, resting her head against his neck and sighing softly. ❛no you’re not honey. stop worrying so much, okay? you’re doing great.❜
Image

This is the only venue where he is unsure of himself. He always puts on a good show with her in everything else, but she’s the dancer. “I-I’m tryin’, I just. I dunno, I feel like I’m always doin’ the wrong thing.” At least half of his problem is that he overthinks every single step, every beat, and ends up messing himself up more than if he’d just let go and breathe. But he, for some reason, believes her when she says it. “Right. Great.” He smiles and buries his face in her hair a bit as he sways--at least he’s on-beat.

“FRIENDS?”  now Graves almost wanted to laugh, but he swallowed the urge down and instead just leaned back in his chair. Dark eyes fixed on the man in front of him. He didn’t know ANYTHING about the magical community and now he said that the TREACHEROUS wizards and witches were his FRIENDS? “you barely know the people you call friends now. You seem to be a fool when you TRUST so easily”

“You learn to trust fast when you go through a war.”

Image

The words were spat, defensively, from Jacob’s mouth. Sure, the things he had seen in the past few days were not like the great war, but it had changed everyone who fought. ‘I know they risked their necks to keep me safe the whole time I knew them, an’ they weren’t nothin’ but nice to me. Wasn’t like they were keepin’ me for experiments or nothin’, kept me from bein’ hurt, and they treated my, whatever sickness I got from that mole rat creature. Been a damn sight nicer’n you.  You? I don’t trust as far as I could throw ya, Mr. Graves.”

“Thank you.” Tina smiled softly when he told her her name was pretty. “Wizards like to name their children after star constellations, after mythological characters and famous witches or wizards. The old wizarding families usually just recycle names from a few generations back again and again.” She explained, before thinking. “I knew a guy called Jacoby?”
Image
Image
“’Course, only sayin’ the truth, y’know.” Constellations, well, that made more sense, at least, after he’d heard some of the other names from the wizards he’d heard the Goldsteins and Newt mention. And since they didn’t really interact with no-majs, they’d run out of names quick, too. “Jacoby, I like it. I knew a guy with that as a last name. He was in my regiment back in the war. Jewish guy, real good at singin’, he’d keep us calm when the bombs were real bad...”

Jacob narrowed his eyes, “....right. Sure. Wizard, okay.” He didn’t scoff, but he wasn’t quite buying it yet. “Houdini’s got nothin’ on you, then, mister Wizard doctor.” Was that even... could he even do both at the same time? Again, there was that nagging, echoed voices speaking of cocoa and nifflers. The baker glanced back at his creations, spying an erumpent--what the heck was an erumpent?--on his shelf, the name suddenly coming to him, despite not knowing what that actually was

“How come you gotta keep it secret? We could, ah, we could use people like you to keep the crime down in the city--Wait, is there witch crime, too?” He wasn’t afraid, especially since he did, indeed feel some sort of deja-vu. “Seems a little silly to keep it all a secret like that.” He screwed up his face, scratching again at his scar,

Image

“Ya know what, kinda, yeah. Not sure why, though...” a pause.... “D’you know what an erumpent is?”
