I can talk about one of my freelance projects now! I'm very happy to announce that Oni Press asked me to do a variant cover for issue #7 of Rick and Morty! (Additional cropped pic because the preview image for the cover is kinda lo-res.)

Comes out on July 26th,2023 and interiors are written by ALEX FIRER, coloured by ANDREW DALHOUSE and illustrated by FRED C. STRESING with lettering by CRANK!

So I have some signed copies up for pre order in my shop. They will ship out late August. If the pre orders sell out then don't worry, I'll have a fresh batch up once my stock arrives.

Here are the inks for my latest variant cover. The series is called Kingdom Balls and Rick meets up with an old flame! #1 is out now!

Signed copies can be grabbed in my shop.

Also an update: I know I haven't been very active on here, but there's a lot of tough stuff going on in my life. I don't have an end date as to when things will be back to "normalish." Thank you to everyone who has been supportive despite me not updating much. <3

Due to my current situation* I have no choice but to stop doubting myself and just open commission for the first time ever. Feel free to ask me whatever doubts you have because thing thing was put together very clumsily, I know.

1 - don’t ask me for realistic or painterly stuff. I assume that if you want me to draw something for you it would be within my usual style(s)

2 - if my condition flares up and I won’t be able to finish your commission any time soon I will discuss a refund with you.

I do?? All the time. I just do it on a different blog that is reserved for reblogging and personal posts.

Apart from some paid work I've done, I've honestly felt very shit about my art this year. I look at the things I created out of joy last year and you can see there's more passion in them? IDK.

I feel like I need to take a break away from the internet and just draw and practice for myself. This has been the main crux of the issue all year tbh- not having time to practice and develop skills or being too stressed to do so. There are so many art styles and techniques I want to try but can't. I applied for a grant to give me time to do this, but was rejected. I'm grateful that for the first half of the year I got enough freelance work from comics and a small indie animation company to sustain myself.

Hopefully next year will be better when it comes to art. For now, here's my Art vs. Artist, without the artist. A.I. is becoming so scarily realistic I'm reluctant to put my face on the internet anywhere lol.
