I have read about six articles covering this topic and not a single one of them has mentioned that Bernthal is Jewish. 

Like NO SHIT he’s against the alt-right, he’s one of their primary targets. I am so tired of Jewish people being whitewashed in the story of their own persecution.

She wants to find a place to rent because right now she is stuck wth Jakub with me in my small room. And he is in the first grade and he doesn’t even have a place to do his homework. Also he is growing so fast that he needs new shoes and jacket for the winter. My father is an alcoholic with violent tendencies so it’s not good for my nephew to still live here. She is going to take legal action against her husband but she needs money for that too. I don’t know how else to help her because I’m unemployed it this moment.

I keep seeing posts about how “subversive” TLJ was and I just ??? Because what part of sidelining a black character is subversive? Finn got shafted in the last jedi, hardcore. They literally just tried to recycle the same story he had in TFA, of him trying to run away from the first order, and then after being on the other side of the first order’s devastation, deciding to stay and fight with his new friends. That was literally his story arc in TFA and instead of showing us a continuation of that storyline, showing him healing after an epic battle with Kyleren( who if you’ll remember nearly fucking killed finn, yet RJ wanted me to believe he was just fucking dandy after almost having his spine severed and instead forced me to sit through darth tantrum’s scenes instead? I think the absolute fuck not Rian )What part of having him being enamored with the wealth of war profiters is subversive, especially when you consider that, as a stormtrooper, the only kind of decadence he ever would have seen would have been that of facists? What’s subversive about having him forced to his knees and slapped by a fucking space nazi, with absolutely no follow up on the repercussions of his desertion from the first order or what it did to the people he trained and fought with?

2018 mood

I keep seeing people using “village” as some sort of metaphor and it’s pretty clear they have never experienced an actual village in their life.

Full disclosure I have never lived in a village in my life but the impression I get from relatives is that the true village experience is less about the spirit of cooperation or whatever else and more about the two opposing factions that evolve when a drunk driving 90 year old local nearly runs over the pet chicken of the family who moved in two years ago and commute to work in the nearest town. The tension can never come to blows or else the fragile balance that must exist when you only have one place to buy toilet paper will be broken, so it just simmers away getting closer and closer to boiling point until the farm labourer who’s dating pub landlady’s daughter steals the traffic cone that another man was using to stop the oil truck driving on his newly paved driveway and suddenly everyone has something new to focus on.
