I nearly escaped Pride Month without saying anything!!

Gosh, I'm sorry I've been MIA. Too many things to do each day, you know?

Frayromantics and other arospec people are amazing!

It's okay to feel weird about Pride. Not feeling romantic love the way others in the community celebrate during June is still queer, is still a valuable part of the LGBTQ+ community.

You make this community more vibrant with or without the way you experience love or community. Yes you.

Take care of yourself today. Drink some water, Stretch your body, Do something that benefits no one but you. You deserve the care 💙💚

It's a good one for non-standard relationship styles too. You don't have to split hairs trying to explain "well, it's more serious than 'boyfriend' or 'girlfriend', but we don't have any intention of getting married ever. Or "we live together and are planning our lives together to some extent but it's not a romantic thing" and so on.

Actually, this year has been kinda wild in terms of crushes. Specifically, growing up I had a few crushes on different guys. (I should have questioned why one of those crushes literally evaporated overnight because my "friend" told other people lol) It was a big part of why I never questioned myself being anything other than heterosexual.

This year though, I've actually had a couple crushes on cis women and my head kinda exploded because I didn’t know that was possible and I wasn't sure if they would fade the same way crushes on guys had. Add to that gender questions and it's really hard to hold onto any concept of being straight.

And then they did fade and breathed a sigh of relief.

There's also the saga of the barista at Starbucks who is gnc af and I love him 💙 but I don't know him at all so idkkkk.

I typically don't think of myself as angled (nor oriented) just because romantic attraction is such a small part of my life, but I would say I am panromantic angled.

Well, for me, romantic attraction is this overwhelming fluttery feeling that this person is special and different and significant. It's quite a bit like being obsessed. Like you can't function properly around them and place far too much emphasis on every careless movement and word. You want to be with them and imagine a life with them as the focal point. It can be very overwhelming.
And then, for me, that feeling fades pretty quickly into something much more platonic and happy to know them. I don't know if Allos have to live with the fluttery romantic stuff all the time or if their feelings change over time. But it kinda feels like dying for your crush, and you'd gladly do it to see them smile.
