Just then a loud crash of thunder rattles the room, and a split second later is a flash of lightening that scorches the rug right in front of Louis’ socked feet.

At first Louis thinks maybe Harry isn’t going to acknowledge it at all. But finally, he raises a hand and snaps his fingers.

And just like that the full-on thunderstorm that had been raging inside their lounge completely evaporates. No signs of it ever existing.

Harry just shrugs. “Sorry love, didn’t realize I was doing that.”

It’s bullshit. And they both know it.

(Or the one where having a powerful witch for a husband is all fun and games until he decides to be a brat).

Everything is dark, and Louis feels like he can’t breathe.

For a moment, he is unsure what woke him up, until he hears it again. The soft buzzing of his phone on the bedside table.

He pushes down the duvet that’s been covering his face and squints at the clock, the red digits telling him it’s exactly 3:00 AM. Rubbing at his eyes, Louis swallows back a yawn and reaches for his phone, intent on swiping the call away until he notices the name on the display.

His heart jumps as he brings the phone to his ear. “Harry?”

After he’d put Louis' hoodie on (and maybe taken a little sniff), his phone rang. Considering his job in the FBI, it had a habit of ringing at odd times, so he was used to this. When he checked the caller ID and it was Louis, it surprised him. Usually it was Liam that called about cases, but Harry was happy Louis was calling. He had such a beautiful voice, and it sounded so perfect and gravelly through the phone. Harry wanted to cry thinking about it. - FBI Agent Louis calls Harry to investigate a case believed to have taken place in Harry's own home. Harry is quite familiar with the victim's face.
