Barr–  He grumbles and shuffles his way towards the bed. Hand clasping sheets before sliding in, but not as far as usual. As if he knows the second he says the wrong thing Barry was going to kick him out.  ❛ Anyone ever told you you’re too nice? Anyone that was mad at me would of kicked me out–

Well, if Hal was going to keep making things weird, then it was up to Barry to fix things. With the movements of a speedster, Barry was against him before the sheet hit the edge of the bed, pressing a kiss to his lips as soon as he’d finished speaking. “Anyone ever tell you that a queen sized bed get cold when there’s only one person in it?”

At least want some normal for you– I don’t deserve the bed.

Future–? No I’m pretty sure I was in 2016. Is this… not 2016? ❞ Because god, he must of taken the wrong turn somewhere if it wasn’t the same year when he went out running this morning. ❝ ‘M Barry Allen, why are you ASKING if I came from a different reality? ❞ Because there’s no reason for him to be asking that. There can be more the one speedster ( hell he knew this for sure with the two Wally’s running around now. ) But this one– the stranger didn’t  So that set off a few alarms in his head. ❝ What city am I in? What year is it? And uhmm.. who– who are you? ❞ Get details first, Barry. Figure it all out and piece together to figure out what happened. Eyes already darting around him taking in the sights of an area that wasn’t familiar at all. ( He swore he was running to the outskirts how did– ) ❝ I’m a few time streams away from my Kansas it looks like. ❞

“BARRY ALLEN?” This couldn’t be happening. Yeah, he’d seen other versions of himself, but never as a speedster. He’d started to think there wasn’t another version that had the same connection to the speed force. Maybe he was the anomaly. Except now, this other person was claiming to be him, had the same connection, had traveled to a parallel world.  So, he wasn’t the only one. How many other Barry Allens were called Flash?

“You’re in Central City, it’s 2016.” Where had he MEANT to be? What this Barry from Central City, too? Was there an Iris and an Oliver and all the others in his world? Was there a Kara? That would be pretty cool, honestly. “And I’m Barry Allen.”

“You know, you could just get in the bed. You don’t have to sleep on the couch.”

“Usually if people get into a fight, the person who started it gets the dog house aka couch…”

❝ I’m just saying Barr– coffee isn’t a bad thing. ❞ The fact that she was laying against him is evident enough that the speedster was worn out. An arm reaching out to tug her closer before letting the CSI settle agains the pilot. ❝ You just need to know how much coffee is your limit– just like how I know how much alcohol is mine. ❞

Image

“You know your limit?” the tease was more of a hum, too sleepy for a true jab. As he pulled her close, she didn’t resist, instead settling more comfortably against him. Honestly, he made a pretty good pillow. A tense breath was expelled, and electric eyes slid shut. “Honestly, I don’t want to chance accidentally vibrating through someone while trying to find my limit.”

❝ It’s not stupid– ah sorry I was um, poking a little fun. Hal always calls me a stick in the mud. Wrong time. Sorry. ❞ Slow down Barry don’t let your mouth run faster then your ( already fast ) thoughts. So he take a moment to actually slow down, pulling himself more to the present before smiling wide. ❝ I’m guessing you didn’t quite catch my reference I um– how did I get my speed? ❞ It wasn’t a particle accelerator–       ❝ A lightning strike– well that and a wall of chemicals being splashed on me. BASICALLY      an explosion. Was in a coma basically for six months. ❞

Lightning and chemicals. A coma. It all sounded way too familiar. His thoughts were racing, tossing out each new theory as quickly as he could come up with them. One of his enemies had already tried to fool him by masquerading as a friend. Two, actually. He wasn’t about to fall for that again, but the only other theory was so crazy that even he was having a hard time taking it seriously. And he’d fought a giant gorilla.

“That’s-- wow. Ok. Did you come from a different reality? Time travel? Please don’t be from the future.” He really wasn’t sure he could take more time travel right now. A different world, though. He’d already been to a different Earth, with a version of himself that didn’t have speed. So, maybe, this guy was from an Earth where Barry Allen wasn’t the one who got struck by lightning.

❝ Well considering you’re fast as well– you probably already know why. ❞ It couldn’t be that hard to throw two and two together. ( But maybe it could be, being a speedster was never that easy in the first place. ) So arms folded across his chest, head tilting to the side for a second trying to place exactly if he had seen the younger speedster before. He hadn’t and he wasn’t either of the Wallies that he knew were running around.         ❝ Either you’re new or I have a feeling I’m not exactly in Kansas anymore– ❞

Image

“Yeah, ok, that was a stupid question, I’ll give you that.” Sometimes ( well actually it was most of the time but he was in denial ) his mouth worked faster than his brain. He was still trying to work this out, though. The only other speedsters he’d met weren’t exactly playing for the hero team, and this one wasn’t making vague threats against his friends and happiness, so he figured that was a step in the right direction.

“Well, I’m absolutely not new, and you’re not in Kansas. How did you even get your speed? The particle accelerator?” If so, he’d spent a long time hiding his speed.

The thing about being a speedster was that, when she had energy, she had A LOT of energy. When she didn’t, though, she crashed hard. A full day of work, plus work with the League, she was exhausted. The speedster yawned, her head resting on the nearest stationary shoulder, which happened to be Hal.

He had just been about to launch into action, don the suit and race to save the day. And then he didn’t have to. Because a different red blur did it for him. Which, obviously, had Barry curious, because all the blurs other than him had been bad blurs, and this one actually seemed like it was trying to do good. So, obviously, he decided to follow the blur, ran until they reached an empty field and both blurs stopped.

“You’re fast. How’d you do that?”
