sweet talk I sh

I pairing: steve harrington x female reader

I précis: short little thing about visiting steve at work!

I content/warnings: fluff

I word count: 388

Sweat and summer heat sticks uncomfortably to your back, the seat of your car left behind with a sticky imprint of where you’d been sitting.

Purse slung over your shoulder and water bottle in hand, you yank open the door to Family Video, eliciting the ring of the bell above the frame.

The doe-eyed gaze of your boyfriend is set on you immediately and you smile under his gentle intensity.

cookies, kisses, and such

a/n: i sat down to write a prompt, wrote 3k words & then didn’t include said prompt <3 anyways bucky barnes hmu to make cookies whenever ur literally the love of my life word count: 3k or smth warnings: none! just pure fluff

Something had… shifted.

Yet somehow, nothing had changed. You can’t put your finger on it, but sometime between then and now, there’s a difference. Well, that much was obvious — a lot of things had changed since Bucky and you became friends.

In the beginning, he was colder.

You couldn’t blame him, coming from where he did. He had rented up the vacant apartment that shared your left wall and for the first couple of months, you weren’t even sure if someone had moved in. It was quiet next door, and while there was a shuffle of furniture being dragged around for the first couple days, it went silent soon after.

In fact, the only reason you found out there was someone living next door was because you ran overtime on your shift. You had ducked home through the rain and darkness, your noisiness the last thing on your mind as you stomped down the corridor, a hot shower the only thing on your mind.

It must’ve been past midnight so you were hardly expecting to bound into someone and you gasped as you slammed into someone coming out of Apartment 5C, the one next to yours.

candlelight & cuddles

a/n: yoohoo!! it’s ur scheduled fluffy bucky content!! this week u go from neighbours to…roommates *gasp* technically the sequel to cookies, kisses, and such it’s cute it’s not perfect cos i edited it once & said meh let them have it  word count: 4k just! enjoy muah <3

After the birds, your alarm tone is the first thing that rings through the apartment, every morning.

On the rare day off, you might get to wake up with the sun — or rather, the bustle of traffic which usually gets going by at least 7.30 in New York. You love days like that, where you’re so pleased to have a sleep-in that even the honking of impatient taxi drivers can’t keep you from slumbering.

Today, however, you do not have the day off.

Bucky knows that. However, from how many times you’ve hit snooze on your alarm, you would think you did have the day off. Notoriously late you were — and constantly playing a dangerous game with falling back asleep.

He doesn’t mind that fact it’s positioned right beside the wall he shares with you, undeniably waking him up with you. Besides, he’s always awake before it rings anyways.

He took a deep breath as he worked quietly finishing the bandages after she took the pills, nodding he set the water glass down.  He crouched back on his heels frowning at her silently behind his mask, his eyes unfocused.  He shifted slightly rocking slightly studying her still.   Watching her as she looked around the room, he frowned softly taking a deep breath again looking away he wasn’t sure why he’d taken her, it was going to just lead him to trouble.

Turning her head she watched him for a few moments. “Care to tell me anything?” She asked raising both her brows when he wasn’t saying anything. “What happened? Where are we? Are we safe?” She needed as much information as she could get, try and assess the situation.

“Who are you?” Tala finally asked again. “Do you know who I am?” There wasn’t much information she could get from the empty room. The news paper clippings just confused her. “Why are these up?” She asked, her hand gesturing to the wall with the paper.

He blinked at her silently slowly frowning at each one of her questions frowning softly, he shifted his weight again licking his lips.  “We’re safe,”  He said with a nod of his head taking a deep breath before looking her over.  “You were attacked.”  He looked up at the clippings frowning his face twitching slightly as he tried to figure out the whole answer for her.  “I don’t know,”  He said softly.

“Why are you helping me?” She asked. Tala knew she had been attacked, she remembered all of it, even thinking she was going to die. How she got here is what confused her.

“Who are you?” She asked again, waiting for an answer. “What side are you on?” He may not he trying to kill her at the moment but Tala still have no idea what was really going on here.

He blinked at her questions, they were overwhelming him, he looked away towards the wall that was bare, breathing hard, he closed his eyes his fists clenching he ducked his head letting his hair fall in his face he sorted the questions in his head, putting them in an order he could answer them in.   “Winter,”  He said with a nod calmly still not looking at her, that was one he knew he could answer, that was a question he knew the answer to his designation was Winter.  “I don’t know,”  He said softly still shaking his head shifting his weight again.  “Side?”  He shook his head not understanding that question at all.

Tala watched him carefully before sighing slightly. "Are you a good guy? Or a bad guy?" She asked. He didn't seem like a bad guy, he did help her but maybe he needed her for his own reasons.

"So, what do we do now?" She finally asked. Maybe the answer to that question would answer what she needed to know. Tala knew she needed some more rest and to heal but what happened after that?

Two Lost Souls

The mission was simple, follow some Hydra agents around, listen to them and then go get a flash drive. How she wound up in a room getting the shit beat out of her she wasn’t sure. Tala thought she had been making sure no one was following her and that she was covering her tracks, apparently not.

Tala had put up a good fight for what seemed like forever, now the two men were taking turns and she was trying to block most of the hits and failing. When the bigger of the two men punched her in the face she fell to the ground. At this point she had a busted eyebrow, her cheek was split open and so was her lip. She spit out the blood that was pooling in her mouth.

Once on the ground both of the Hydra agents started kicking her till she couldn’t move. If her ribs weren’t broken it’d be a miracle. Her body had cuts and bruises all over it, her face was swollen there was blood in her hair and every where else in the room. Breathing was hard and Tala thought that maybe this was how she’d die, bloody on a cold floor.

The two man spit on her and then laughed as they walked out. “Yeah, she’ll be dead by morning.” Tala heard the door lock and her eyes slowly started to close

Winter wasn’t supposed to do anything but, be there, be a presence, be used if they needed him to weild a gun or a knife.  So when they’d brought in the girl and beaten her, he wasn’t supposed to do anything but stand there and let it happen.  But, something in his lizard brain wouldn’t leave him alone, blue eyes usually empty and cold watched the two agents as they walked away laughing and talking about her being dead. Something in his lizard brain pushed and yelled and demanded he break the rules, risk punishment.  It’d been so long since he’d broken the rules, the last time….he didn’t remember the last time, he wasn’t allowed to remember last times, he didn’t have last times, he was just nows.  Always nows, moments between pains, the wipes, and commands, guns, bloods sometimes he remembered people begging for their lives.   Howard….Steve

….people….blank faces with names that sat in the back of a blank brain.  He was moving with out thinking, or willing himself to do so, breaking the lock was easy for the metal hand, And she was there, laying there, bleeding.  blood was normal, blood Winter understood, death Winter understood,  not wanting her to die, he did not understand, but for now he listened to the Lizard scratching at the empty hallways in his brain and picked up her body and slipped away.   There would be trouble, later…but he lived in nows, not thens….not later just nows….

Tala groaned as she felt her body being moved. She could barley open her eyes, and what she saw she wasn’t sure she liked. Was he one if theirs? Was he taking her outside to die? Would he just shoot her and dump her somewhere?

She had to move, do something to get out of this situation. Her brain was screaming at her. Raising her hand she hit his chest, as soon as she tried to move more a sharp pain went through her whole body. Tala gasped, not strong enough to let out a scream.

Maybe the man carrying her would have mercy on her and just knock her out before he killed her. Hell she was already exhausted maybe she’d pass out and then he’d shoot her. Tala closed her eyes, not being able to keep them open any longer.

Winter watched her, he was certain she too weak to put up a fight, he nodded then moved out of the room and quickly into the shadows once they were out of the room.  He moved calmly and easily through the tunnels below the building til he reached his hiding spot.   He pushed into the room and stopped frowning at the walls for a second before moving to the mattress, he laid her down and stepped back quietly.  He glanced at the walls again, the clippings again studying them silently for a second, before focusing back on the woman quietly.  He picked up his supplies and began bandaging her wounds.

There was a bright light, and she actually thought she was dead. Obviously if there were a hevan she wouldn’t be going there, purgatory maybe? Perhaps nothing, and you just saw a white light before you finally bit the bullet. Luckily she hadn’t been shot but all the stab wounds, cuts, and bruises hurt just as much.

Tala grunted, surging forward before quickly falling back onto the bed. There was the pain. Groaning she moved her head to the side, to see what was happening. She frantically tried to move away from him, but the pain was to much for her, she almost passed out again. Once she calmed down her eyes went to his hands and saw what he was doing. Her brown eyes narrowed at him, not sure what to say. “Where are we?” She finally asked.

Winter shifted when she spoke looking back at her, his brow furrowing as he tried to decide if he should tell her where they were.   He moved over to the bed and pressed a hand to her chest and pushed her down hard frowning down at her.  “Stay,”  He said roughly.   He kept wrapping her wounds quietly frowning as he did so, finishing he went to a cabinet grabbing a bottle and some water he came back shaking out some pills he held them out.  “Take,”  He ordered quietly.

Tala tried not to make any noise as he pushed her back on the bed but she did glare at him for a moment. Staying in her current position she tried to look around the room, see if she could figure out where they were. Her eyes caught a few of the clippings on the wall. The Avengers, so was he a good guy? Some of the other articles confused her though, maybe a bad guy?

Watching him she slowly sat up, eyeing the pills in his hand. Her brow raised up in question but she soon sighed taking the pills and water before downing him. "Thank you." If he was gonna kill her there was no point in patching her up.

John sighed and shifted stopping he waved his hand incircling the area in a well controlled wall of fire.  “I am,”  He said mildly.  “And I’m also not in the mood to go running through the woods after you,”  He said dryly sounding annoyed.  “So just come out or I’ll force you out, and I’ll hand cuff you and take you in for questioning,”

Devan scurried away from the fire. "The hell!?" She loudly standing up. "Jesus christ! Or you could not burn my forest down! That'd be great thanks!" She said walking towards him. "What the hell do you want?" Devan made sure there was a good six feet between them, clearly not trusting the man.
