if it were not for swaddling, my baby would have murdered me by now.
Babies are always way stronger than I expect
I think it’s because babies are always prepared to use 100% of their power in anything they do but a person holding a baby never wants to use more than 2% strength to restrain a baby
some of my older siblings suggest that i wrap him in the shirt i am currently wearing to trick him to think i am still there via smell, but
i feel as though if the lies start now, they will never end. he is eight days old.
i do everything for my son because he is a small, charismatic sack of meat that cannot fend for himself and he thanks me by not allowing me to shower.
for the time being, oasis has a favorite perch.
if sephiroth has to have a cat, it will probably be a savannah cat.
“‘teach your baby the difference between day and night to promote good sleep cycles.”
how do i do that in a pocket dimension with no son when my son is part drow, a species that typically does not come up from the underdark? which, from the name, you should be able to guess is dark!!!
i was grossly unprepared for inez to hate light.
what is creepier than a small gang of large, bipedal snails staring at your child?
what is a child? a small man?
yes. the tiniest man.
angeal’s mother, gillian, snapped this after we were walking back from seeding the new plot.

silver is… an exceedingly uncommon hair color on my planet of origin, apart from old humans. whether or not he would survive… development in the womb was but a… minor concern? …i see.
humans are born with silver hair here, either, unless they are some kind of variant. drows, tho, get it left and right.
more often than not, a healthy mother makes a healthy baby. i have spent much of my life in combat for work and sport and it has kept me at my peak. once the first few weeks were out of the way, most everything was smooth sailing.
i love my son, who comes for my life with his tiny little claws every time i feed him.

why is it… satisfying that he resembles you? either of you? and you said that his hair was… silver?
yes! he gets his hair from my wife, it is a pretty common colour.
i see the resemblances as a big bonus, honestly. after all the preparation and waiting, all i wanted was for him to come out looking like a regular baby. with my already being a hybrid, there was no telling what could happen. we had a strong idea that he was going to be alright, but a lot of the usual boring worrying was still there.
so to have him healthy and see both my wife and i in his looks is a nice bow on the gift that he is to us.
it is also only fair that i can see myself in him, he lived in me for the better part of a year.
afirstnamebasis replied to your post: ask me about my purple son. he is not even a week...
…what sorts of things do you have to say about him?
he looks more like me than i initially thought! he is nearly a spitting image of my wife, but i have noticed his silver hair has tiny, tiny little curls in it. i am hoping it ends up something like mine.
it is nice that he takes after my wife so much, but i enjoy seeing myself in him, too.

too tiny for the tiny witch hat? oh no. :~( at least he has his other tiny hats. what other ones does he have?
he will grow into it within a few week’s time. (◡‿◡✿) most of his other hats are solids or patterned. one of my sisters knit one that looks like my boob in case anyone gives me trouble with public feeding. she is working on another to make him look like a snail.

oh….. this is less cute, but also the miracle of life? i like his tiny hat.
he also likes his tiny hat. it keeps him warm. he has many tiny hats, including a tiny witch hat, but he is too tiny for it.

he is saying hello! eggy's first digestion...
it sounds cute in concept, but the actual first digestions of newborns look like tiny eldritch abominations.
