Summary: Your life with Emily takes an unexpected turn when she steps in as Unit Chief of the BAU. It takes you about a month to pack up you and Emily's London flat and meet her in D.C. What she doesn't know is that you've brought back a surprise.

Summary: In which Emily Prentiss comes home to her wife and daughter after a week-long case.

EMILY LET out a sigh of relief as she walked into her house and dropped her to-go bag. After a week-long case, all she wanted to do was curl up in bed with her wife. She made quick work of putting away her gun and credentials, trying to be quiet so she didn't wake anyone up.

She was in the kitchen filling up a glass of water when she heard soft footsteps walk into the kitchen.

"Mama!" Charlotte said as she ran over and wrapped her arms around Emily's leg. Emily smiled as she put the glass down and bent over to pick up the three-year-old.

"Hi sweet girl," Emily said as she kissed her daughter on the head, the smell of her shampoo already calming her senses. She smiled as she saw Charlotte's pink onesie, ever since the two of you bought it for her, she refused to wear anything else to bed.

"What are you doing out of bed?" Emily asked as she tickled the little girl's stomach. Charlotte giggled as she threw her small hands around her mother's neck.

"I'm thirsty." She said as she looked up at the raven-haired woman.

"Well, let's get you some water, and then you can go back to bed." Emily smiled as she opened another cabinet to grab a small plastic cup.

"I want apple juice." Charlotte pouted as she looked up at her mother.

She knows she shouldn't, but she could never say no to the perfected pout of her daughter. Emily knows it's because that pout is one hundred percent inherited from you.

"Don't tell Mommy, okay? It'll be our secret." Emily says as she holds out her pinky.

"Our secret!" Charlotte giggles as she wraps her pinky around Emily's. Emily adjusts the little girl to sit on her hip as she grabs the apple juice from the fridge and pours it into the light pink cup.

After Charlotte was done Emily left the cup on the sink to clean tomorrow.

She carried Charlotte upstairs and wasn't surprised when the toddler was starting to fall asleep in her arms. She smiled as she tucked her daughter into bed and gave her a quick kiss on the forehead before heading to her bedroom.

As soon as she walked in she saw your sleeping frame curled up against her pillow. She smiled as she immediately walked over to you and gently brushed some hair out of your face, not wanting to wake you but needing to feel the warmth of your skin. You unconsciously nuzzled your face into her hand. "I love you," She whispered, knowing that you were still asleep, but if she had learned anything from you, it was that she could never say those three words too many times.

She quickly changed out of her work clothes and into shorts and a sweatshirt before heading to the bathroom. When she came out a couple of minutes later she saw Charlotte curled up next to you with her small arm protectively on top of your five-month pregnant belly.

Emily's heart melted at the sight.

She never thought that this would be her life.

She never thought that love like this could come so easily.

That being loved was so easy.

"You're back." You murmured as you slowly sat up, carefully placing Charlotte's head onto the pillows without waking her up.

"I am." Emily smiled as she quickly got into bed and pulled you in for a soft kiss. Your lips tasted like home and Emily never wanted to leave.

"I missed you." You mumbled sleepily against her lips.

"I miss you too," Emily said as she rested her forehead against yours. "How's the little one?" She asked as she placed her hand softly onto your stomach.

"Good. She was hungry for a new combination this week though." You yawned and Emily raised her eyebrows. "Oh, she was?"

"Mhm. She insisted I eat tuna and peanut butter every day."

Emily wrinkled her nose at the thought, "Gross."

You just shrugged as you leaned your head against Emily's shoulder, "How was the case?" You asked quietly, knowing that Charlotte could sleep through anything but not wanting to take any chances.

"Let's just say I'm very happy to be back with my girls," Emily murmured as she rested her cheek on the top of your head. You knew this meant she didn't want to talk about it yet, so you didn't push. You remembered what it was like returning from a case, the heaviness in your heart making you want to do nothing but curl up with the people you love.

You still worked at the BAU, but after having Charlotte you decided you didn't want to be in the field anymore so you mostly worked on cold cases and consults over the phone.

"I love you." You said as you fought to keep your eyes open. You wanted to spend time with your wife after not seeing her for a week but your exhaustion was getting the better of you.

"I love you more." She smiled as she kissed the top of your head. "Why don't we go to sleep? We can talk more in the morning." Emily murmured and then immediately heard your soft snores from her shoulder.

Emily held back a laugh as she gently laid the both of you down on the bed. Your ability to fall asleep anywhere and anytime had surely been passed to Charlotte.

Emily buried her face into your neck as she lazily put her arms over your stomach. She never slept well without you, so as soon as she inhaled the scent of your body wash her eyes drifted closed.

Emily's eyes fluttered open to the feeling of small hands on her face.

"Mama." Charlotte's soft voice whispered.

"Mhm," Emily said sleepily as she rubbed her eyes and slowly sat up. The little girl immediately crawled into the brunette's lap and looked up at her excitedly. "Pancakes!"

Emily chuckled as she brushed wild hair off her daughter's forehead. "You want pancakes?"

"Yeah!"

Emily happily agreed, knowing that the two of them could surprise you with breakfast in bed since you were still fast asleep.

By the time they got downstairs, Charlotte was already chasing Sergio around the kitchen. The black cat had taken a long time to warm up to the little girl, but now he was at least tolerant of her antics.

Emily put on soft music as she got out all of the ingredients. She easily whipped together the batter in minutes and then went to find Charlotte so she could put in the chocolate chips.

"Char! It's chocolate chip time!" Emily called out as she walked into the living room.

As soon as she saw the two of them she couldn't help but laugh. "Very pretty, Serg," Emily said as she looked at the pink crown Charlotte had put on his head.

"He needs a dress!" Charlotte said excitedly as she bolted from the living to the playroom and came back with a pink, doll dress less than thirty seconds later.

"Why don't we play dress up after breakfast, okay?" Emily said as she scooped the little girl up, giving Sergio time to knock the tiara off with his paw and scamper upstairs.

"Okay," The toddler sighed dramatically, another thing that Emily claims is all you.

By the time they get into the kitchen, Charlotte has already forgotten about the dress and is squirming in Emily's arm to reach the chocolate chips.

"Remember, not too much," Emily says as she hands the bag to the little girl.

"Not too much," Charlotte repeats before dumping almost half the bag in.

"Well, it's a good thing you and your mommy love chocolate chips." Emily chuckled as she took the bag from her. Before she could put it away Charlotte stopped her, "Do the trick mama!" Charlotte says excitedly as she claps her hands.

The trick was just Emily seeing how many chocolate chips she could throw into her mouth but Charlotte was insistent that she do it every time they make pancakes.

"Okay, let's see if we can break the record, Char!" Emily smiled as she placed the toddler in her high chair next to the counter.

"Yeah!" She cheered. Emily's current record was 27 consecutive chocolate chips thrown into her mouth. It would have been more if they hadn't run out of them last time.

"Alright," Emily said as she grabbed one out of the bag and then tossed the chip high and easily caught it in her mouth.

"One!" The mother and daughter counted at the same time. The game went on for another three minutes, Charlotte had stopped counting at 20 but right when Emily threw the 27th one into the air, Sergio scurried passed Emily's leg causing her to fall backward and land right on her ass, missing the chocolate chip.

"Ow," Emily grumbled as shot a glare at the cat who looked smug as he ran away. The brunette could have sworn that was the cat's payback for letting her daughter dress him up.

"Mama hurt?" Charlotte asked as she looked down at Emily with sad eyes.

"I'm okay, sweet girl." Emily smiled as she ignored the crack in her knees as she stood up. "We'll beat our record next time, yeah?" She said as she gave her daughter a high five. "Yeah!" Charlotte giggled.

Thirty minutes later, all the pancakes were done and Emily had cut up some fruit and made you tea. She put everything on a tray as she and Charlotte walked up the stairs to surprise you.

"You want to wake up Mommy?" Emily asked and Charlotte nodded excitedly.

"Surprise!" Charlotte said as she ran through the room and jumped onto the bed, shaking your shoulders with her small hands.

"Mmm, good morning Char," You mumbled as you rubbed your eyes.

"We made breakfast!" She said excitedly as she pulled on your arm for you to sit up.

"Oh, you did?" You said as you looked over and saw your wife holding a tray with a big smile.

"Mama let me put in the chocolate chips!" Charlotte said as Emily gently placed the food onto the bed and then crawled next to you.

"Wow, they look good, Char! You and your mama are the best!" You said as you gave her a quick kiss on the head before turning to your wife.

"Thank you." You smiled, giving her a quick kiss on the lips before carefully pulling the tray onto your lap.

"Always," Emily said as she placed her chin on your shoulder. She watched lovingly as Charlotte burrowed into your side, stealing fruit from the tray as you cut the pancakes.

The three of you spent the rest of the morning in bed rewatching Charlotte's favorite movie for probably the fifteenth time. But neither you nor Emily would have had it any other way.

"MAMA" you heard a little voice jump on your bed.

"Hey you" you smiled as you pulled your 3 year old daughter up for a hug.

"Hi mama" she smiled as you brushed her messy morning hair out of her face.

"Why are you up so early missy" you playfully queried.

"Saturday and I'm excited for Michael's birthday party" she shrugged.

"Harley" you chuckled before shifting her in the middle of you and your wife "Michael's birthday isn't until 5 honey, you've got plenty of time" you smiled playing with her hair.

"What time is it now?" she furrowed her eyebrows at the confusion.

"8am sweetheart" you leaned down to give her a kiss on her head, she sat up to see Emily still sleeping on her side, facing away from you both.

"Mommy's lazy" she giggled making you laugh too.

"I think someone should wake her" you whispered giving her an idea.

"MOMMY" Harley shouted at her giggling as Emily fluttered her eyes trying to get up.

"Harls" Emily groaned as you and Harley laughed "did mama tell you to wake me up like this?" Emily tickled your daughter and your heart melted at the sight as your daughter was giggling breathlessly

"Mhmm" she smiled, giggling trying to answer her mother.

"Hey" you playfully chastised "I thought we were a team" you joined Emily in tickling your daughter.

Roars of laughter could be heard from the Prentiss bedroom, you decided to stay in bed a little while longer and get some more sleep.

You woke up around 11am with no Emily or Harley in your bed

"Harls?" you called out "Em?" you replied confused.

You heard Emily shushing Harley from the kitchen and you made your way down there, you watched as Emily was making breakfast and dancing with Harley in her arms at the same time, you quickly snapped a photo and sent it to JJ and Garcia.

You watched in awe for a few minutes before walking up them and placing a kiss on Harley's head.

"Mama" she said excitedly as she wriggled out of Emily's arms.

"Hi Harley" you drawled as you grinned at her.

You wrapped your arms around Emily's back and put your chin on her shoulder "you're making breakfast?" you whispered.

"Mhmm" she replied absentmindedly while focusing on cooking.

"I love you" you pressed a kiss to her back and turned around to pick up Harley.

"I love you too" Emily put the frying pan down to turn around to kiss you.

"I love you three" Harley spoke up making you all three laugh at the same time.

"You are the cutest ever Harley Prentiss you know that" you said as you tapped the end of your nose "cuter than mommy" you whispered.

"Heard that" Emily replied absentmindedly, focusing on her coffee, you and Harley both wore the same shocked expression, putting down her mug, Emily smacked your ass playfully without a notice from your daughter "breakfast time"' You took Harley's hand and sat her down at the table, tucking her chair under and kissing the top of her head when you did it, sitting to the left of her.

"Thank you mommy" Harley smiled with the plastic knife and fork in her hand with a napkin tucked into her Sesame Street pajamas.

"Thank you mommy" you winked at Emily, Emily trying to cover her blush as best as she could whilst serving you and Harley breakfast.

"Alright" Emily sighed as she sat down on the other side of your daughter, on the end of the table "who's hungry?" Emily asked rhetorically.

"Me me me me me me me" Harley grinned as she bounced the knife and fork up and down several times, resulting in a laugh from you and Emily.

"I say get this lady some breakfast" you laughed, Harley nodding which only made you and Emily laugh harder.

After breakfast, Emily bathed Harley while you offered to do the dishes and clean the kitchen, it didn't take long so you got Harley's clothes out for Michael's birthday, you got yours out too, you walked in the bathroom.

"Em? honey what are you wearing to Michael's birthday?" you questioned.

"I'm almost done with Harls, I'll have a look while you get her dry?" she questioned back.

"Sure babe" you leaned down to kiss Emily's head.

"And me mama" Harley grinned wanting a kiss also.

"You too baby" you leaned over Emily, balancing your hands on her shoulders to steady yourself, to kiss Harley's head which made her giggle "I have her clothes set out on the bed" you informed Emily with a whisper, Emily nodded craining her neck to look up at you, as she finished Harley's bath.

"Harley, shoes" you called to her as she was running in her dress and tights around the open planned living room the kitchen.

"Harley, listen to your mother" Emily said sternly.

When she was coming past you by the front door, you grabbed her and picked her up as Emily picked up her shoes and you made your way to the car, Emily picking up Michael's birthday card and present on the way out.

You decided on driving, only deeming it fair as Emily drove to the zoo last week.

"She got them on?" you whispered to Emily, Emily subtly looked back and noticed her shoes still on the seat next to her, she shook her head, you and Emily both let out a sigh.

"Babe, we're almost at JJ's put your shoes on" you coaxed, knowing you still had a while to go you just wanted her to be ready.

Harley nodded her head slightly and started putting them on.

"Good girl Harley" Em praised, earning a grin from Harley, you interlocked your hands and lifted her knuckles to your mouth to kiss them.

"I love you" you sighed.

"I love you too" Emily whispered.

"I love you three" Harley shouted at the back, earning both smirks and giggles from you and Emily.

"Hey, you guys made it" JJ smiled as she hugged you and Emily "look at you Harley" JJ praised as Harley twirled and showed off her new dress to auntie JJ.

"Harley" Michael appeared behind JJ, Harley giving the card and the present to him instead of JJ "thank you" they both hugged, making you and JJ smile, Emily was quick to capture a photo.

"Cute picture of you and Harley earlier Em" JJ winked at you, making you smirk, Emily furrowed her eyebrows in confusion turning to you to offer an explanation.

"I saw you and Harley dancing in the kitchen and I sent a picture to JJ" you grinned, showing your new lockscreen to Emily, you then pulled Emily in by her waist to kiss her "sorry babe"

"You're forgiven" Emily nodded as soon as she kissed you, humming contently, you hurried Harley out of the hallway and into the living room where Jack, Henry, and Hank were already.

"It's nice having a girl here" Savanah sighed.

"Sav" you turned around to hug Savanah, you hadn't seen her in a while, begging Derek to bring her to girls nights, but because she works in a hospital it was hard to get off at the same time.

"Hey Y/N, Emily" she greeted as she hugged you, you turned back around to see your daughter with Spencer and JJ on the floor with the other kids.

"I'm gonna get a drink" Emily spoke as you felt a gentle hand graze your back, leaving quickly just as fast as it appeared.

"Mhmm" you nodded "get me one too" you smiled and pouted a little, knowing that that it was it took to work every time.

"Sure honey" Emily smiled.

You watched as Emily made her way around the kitchen, making her way around the kitchen to get a drink "she's so beautiful" Savannah nodded to your baby.

"She is" you smiled at her, not turning your focus away from Harley who was passing toy shaped blocks to JJ "she looks so much like Emily, they're everything to me" you sighed contently, Savannah laughed slightly in agreement.

"Oh hey" you noticed Emily coming back with two glasses of wine in her hand "thank you babe" you smiled as you kissed her cheek.

"Mama" Harley smiled as she came running over to you.

"Hey baby" you smiled as you handed Savannah your glass for you to pick up your 3 year old "what's gotten you so excited?" you smiled as Harley threw her head back as you tickled her.

"JJ" she giggled loudly.

"You love JJ huh" you smiled at her and then at Emily, Emily smiling back at you.

"Mhmm" Harley agreed defiantly.

"Can we have Auntie JJ sleepover next weekend?" she asked with a widened expression.

"If it's okay with JJ?" you raised an eyebrow to JJ who nodded "only if she brings the boys?" JJ silently thanked you by her shoulders relaxing, which made you laugh.

Harley pretended to think about it while stamping a finger to her chin and furrowing her eyebrows "that's okay with me" she smiled as JJ walked over

"Well, I'd say it better had been because otherwise I don't know what I'd do without my boys" JJ laughed as she took Harley from your hands, taking her into the room with the other children.

You were driving home after a night full of cake, presents, and some karaoke, it was a perfect ending to a perfect party, you finally were in the car around 9pm, you drove home because you didn't drink, you handed the glass of wine Emily gave you to Savannah and then you decided on becoming the designated driver.

"Is she sleeping?" you asked Emily softly, Emily craning her neck to check.

"Out cold" Emily nodded, laughing at how easily your daughter was able to sleep.

"She's just like you, you know?" you inquired, Emily furrowed her eyebrows "yeah so you both snore and sleep talk, it takes you both under five minutes to go to sleep, i'm your favourite person ever blah blah blah" you grinned, Emily returning a similar one.

"Come on" Emily groaned as she lifted Harley out of her car seat, you taking the car seat in behind her.

Harley stirred a little in her sleep whilst waking up the steps to your house but Emily cooed her and rocked her back to sleep.

Emily unlocked the door and you both made it upstairs to Harley's room, you managed to get her changed without waking her, you both took turns to kiss her goodnight.

You and Emily both stood there at Harley's doorframe, watching her sleep, Emily placed an arm around you whilst you hugged her waist, both of you focusing on her.

"I was telling Sav earlier she looks and reminds me so much of you Em" you looked up her.

"You think she looks like me?" she smiled, you bit your lip, smiled and nodded "I do, yeah, everything she does it just reminds me of you, usually she does things that you would do, I love it Em, I love having a mini us running around"

"I love you so much babe" Emily kissed your lips.

"I love you too" you smiled "come on let's go to bed, I'm tired" you tried your to stifle back a yawn but you couldn't, Emily laughed at you slightly.

She nodded in agreement "let's go"

You got changes and got into bed, you curled up next to Emily, her arm under you and her other arm on top of your waist, both of your favourite sleeping positions.

"Goodnight" you sat up enough to kiss her arm that you were leaning on "I love you"

"Goodnight I love you so much" Emily smiled.

You layed in Emily's bed unsure of what to do the minute she would walk in through the door, you couldn't sleep so you decided to wear her FBI hoodie on and a pair of shorts you left there months ago, you didn't mean to overhear the conversation but you're glad you kind of it.

"Honey, honey it's me" Emily whispered as she took her off shoes and made her way into your room, you faced away from the door curled up hoping she wouldn't see your face "It's late Y/N I'm sorry about that" she said getting into bed and brushing the hair from your face tucking it behind your ears

You turned to face her, she leaned down to kiss your forehead "What's wrong? What happened Y/N" Emily pushed your shoulders out so she could see your face.

"Nothing it's fine just go to sleep" you huffed.

"No Y/N tell me" Emily started to raise her voice a little bit.

"I know about you and Tara" your voice started shaking "I know you cheated on me" you sobs were uncontrollable at this point.

"It was a one time thing and I didn't even mean for it to happen Y/N I swear" Emily promised.

"Oh so you're not only a cheater but you're also a liar, brilliant" you said sarcastically.

"Y/N that's not fair" Emily started.

"No Emily, you know what isn't fair? you cheating on me with Tara every single weekend.. for the past 6 months. God how could I be so stupid" you groaned.

"I can explain if you calm down and-" Emily started

"Calm down?" you shouted.

"Don't you dare raise your voice at me in my own home" Emily screamed.

"And don't you dare make me out to be the 'bad guy' in this scenario Emily" you scoffed.

You were thinking all night about how you were going to leave and this argument was a staple moment for you.

"Where the hell are you going?" Emily screamed.

"Out of here" You screamed back.

"Give me my clothes back" Emily shouted.

"Fine" you ripped her FBI hoodie off your head and crumpled it up and threw it at her, her barely catching it, leaving you in your underwear, scrambling to find your own tshirt and bottoms.

"This is ridiculous. You are being ridiculous" Emily sneered as you pulled a tshirt over your head and put a pair of joggers on.

"I'm not the one who cheated Emily" you smirked "Oh and tell Tara I said hey, I know she'll be over here tomorrow" you said barging past Emily and bumping into her shoulder.

"Where are you going?" She stopped you by grabbing your wrist.

"Let me go" you scoffed, Emily's grip grew tighter, a very slightly smirk growing on her face "Emily this isn't funny please let me go" you begged.

"Fine" Emily dropped your hand, you stood there with a shaky breath not saying anything and just staring at her.

"But seriously Emily I am going, this is my final straw, you and me, we're done, this" you gestured between you and Emily "is entirely over, i'm breaking up with you don't bother texting me or calling me, okay?" You nodded.

Emily stood there defeated knowing she couldn't do anything and she made up her mind agreed "yeah okay" she breathed out.

"Okay" you repeated.

"Can I ask where your going?" she whispered as you placed your hand on the door handle.

"To a friends house" you said not even looking back at Emily.

You stayed as calm as you possibly could and drove until you were just too tired to.

You checked the time on your car only for it to be 2:37am, you rolled your eyes and sighed out loud, you really didn't fancy sleeping in your car.

"Fuck it" you walked up to your friends house and turned back before she answered the door

"Y/N?" she said rubbing her eyes

You turned around to see her, she had a jumper and shorts on, you had to say well she looked extremely attractive, you also took a mental note of how she slept with socks on and her hair up.

"I'm sorry it's late I shouldn't have come here, I'll just leave" You sighed.

"No Y/N come in please" she sighed.

"Jay I'm-" you sidled up to her front porch.

"Are you crying?" JJ whispered "come here" she said grabbing you and pulling you into a hug.

"I'll make us some tea how does that sound" JJ smiled wiping tears that you didn't even realize came back.

"Mhmm" you smiled gently, you followed JJ into her house by her grabbing your hand, occasionally putting her thumb over yours.

"Are you ready to talk about?" JJ wanted to make sure you were comfortable first.

"Yeah I'm ready" you smiled up at her as she handed you your tea.

"I didn't mean to but I found out Emily was cheating on me with Tara" you looked away from JJ's gaze, you knew that if you looked at her you would break down.

"How lo-" she started to ask.

"About 6 months" you scoffed.

"Y/N I'm so sorry" she said playing with the ends of your hair.

"Jay please you're fine you're not the one who cheated on me" you laughed making JJ laugh slightly too "I didn't know who else to come too I know it's late I'm sorry"

"Y/N if you are going to say sorry to me one more time" JJ smiled.

"What's gonna happen you'll cheat on me?" you laughed JJ playfully pushing into your shoulder.

"Why... did you come to me actually?" JJ said genuinely confused.

"I'm not sure, you're like the glue who holds the BAU together, I knew you'd know what to do" you smiled, she smiled back.

"Come here" JJ smiled pulling you into a hug by putting your arm around your shoulder, you put your arm around her waist.

"You can stay here if you want" JJ smiled.

"That would be so great actually, I kinda don't live anywhere for the minute" you laughed but then cried as reality hit you.

"Hey hey no" JJ wiped your eyes "It's okay, you're okay, you can stay here as long as you need too" JJ said "There's a spare bedroom I'll show you where in a second but if you want to stay here for a while like this then that's okay too" you looked up at her you both smiled.

"Thank you" your eyes started to become heavy.

"You can go to sleep it's okay" JJ whispered into your ear.

You nodded as you fell asleep with your arms around JJ.

An hour later JJ received a text from Emily "Did she come to you?"

"Yeah she did, she told me what happened Emily I can't believe you would do something like that, and to her as well? she did so much for you and you treated her like that? and for 6 months??"

"Please Jennifer you have to believe that I didn't mean it"

JJ scoffed " You didn't mean for it to be a 6 month long thing? you sound ridiculous"

"I ended things with Tara I messed up"

"Just because you ended things with Tara doesn't mean Y/N wants you back, it might take her months for her to even consider talking to you again never mind going back to the way things were" JJ scoffed out loud making you stir a little bit.

"Everything okay?" you said sleepily.

"What- oh everything is fine, go back to sleep" JJ played with your hair in her one hand and continued to text with Emily.

"I understand" Emily replied

JJ turned her phone off and focused her attention back to you.

"How are you feeling?" JJ asked calmly.

"Tired" you sleepily laughed.

"I know" JJ smiled.

"Do you wanna go to bed?" JJ suggested.

"Yeah" you mumbled.

"Do you still want to cuddle or your own bed?" JJ asked.

"Cuddle" you smiled.

"Okay come on" JJ grabbed your hand and took you to her bedroom, you fell asleep straight away not even giving JJ a chance to lift the covers back up which made her laugh a little bit.

You woke up the next day to an empty bed, remembering where you were you shouted to her "JJ" you called out "Jay?" you said after no answer.

"I'm in the kitchen" she called out.

"Bacon and coffee my favourite breakfast ever thank you" you smiled hugging her again.

You sat down on her kitchen bar stools and smiled as she handed you the bacon on your plate.

"Did you mean what you said?" you said looking down not even looking up at her.

"What?" she said walking around the table and squatting infront of you, her hands balancing on your legs.

"Last night you said I could stay here for as long as I needed to? Is that offer still available" you smiled almost choking on your sobs.

"Yeah, yeah I did" she said standing up and tucking your hair behind your ears "for as long as you need, no one else lives here so between you and me it gets kinda lonely anyway" JJ laughed but you could tell there was a hidden truth that lay underneath it.

You smiled too, and took a deep breath "Do we have work today" you rolled your head back at JJ's answer.

"We do and if you don't hurry your cute little but up I'd say we're gonna be late" JJ laughed "Come on" JJ gently hurried you up.

You and JJ took separate cars but you ended up walking in at the same time.

"You okay?" JJ said whispering before the doors opened to the BAU bullpen.

"Yeah" you smiled.

You walked to the coffee station and started making your coffee.

"You finished with that?" Emily said bluntly.

You weren't but you really didn't feel like talking to Emily right now "Yeah sure" you left your coffee there and walked away, you figured that you would get more coffee when she finished.

You were about to go and get some when Hotch called you into the briefing room for a case.

You walked in and the only seat available with between Tara and Emily "great" you thought, JJ shot you a sorry look.

20 excruciatingly long minutes later he let you go, this was a local case so you could actually go home today rather than a hotel.

"Agent Y/L/N my office please" JJ called out, you complicity nodded as you made your way up to her office.

"Am I in trouble?" you closed the door and shut the blinds.

"God no" JJ laughed "you couldn't be trouble if you tried ... I got you a coffee I know you didn't get a a chance to make one eariler" JJ smiled offering you a coffee by sliding the mug over.

"Jennifer Jareau you are the best ever" you laughed.

"So I've heard" you both laughed.

"I just wanted to see how you were doing, must've been tough going back today" JJ said sincerely.

"Yeah it was definitely interesting" you laughed. "If I don't laugh I 100% will cry"

"Awww shame, your makeup was real cute today too" JJ laughed making you laugh too.

You finished your coffee and got back to work.

"What did Jareau want?" Derek asked curiously.

"Oh"'you looked back up to her office "She wanted second eyes on a file" you nodded hoping he would let it go.

He nodded slowly but let it go in the end, after he was out of sight you let out a deep breath you didn't even realise you were holding.

You and JJ managed to finish work around the same time, you followed JJ in your car.

You got home and changed into more comfortable clothes, you both changed into pajamas and sat infront of the TV, you found yourself in the same position as you were in last night, her arm around your shoulder and your arm around her waist.

A 90's romcom played in the background while you and JJ talked about random things all night, you wrapped your legs around each other and now your head was on her chest, you both, however, were content with where you were, she kissed your head before both of you fell asleep on the couch, your first of many nights like this.

Halloween was always your favorite, and even though you were a college student studying to be an FBI agent, you always loved to party. Until your professor, Emily Prentiss, saw you extremely intoxicated.
