I swear to all that is holy, if this is just another bait and switch scheme from AMC/TWD this season to get me excited and hopeful again for Caryl, who they literally use in some way for every promotion of the show because they fucking know the barest hint of these two together sells and gets asses in seats, and try to slip me a product—yes, product, because it is manufactured as hell and did not come about organically—that is inferior in every single fucking way than the original (as in there from the beginning, we watched them suffer and grow and fall in love when they didn’t even know what real love was because life had been so cruel to them for so damn long)? I will never watch or support anything else they put out again. With my apologies to John and June, who I do find very sweet, Fear is a flaming, nonsensical, boring ass trash fire with no redeeming qualities. The mother ship (TWD), although Kang has worked almost magic resurrecting it from rubble, has been gutted to the point that there’s only a handful of characters left that I have any emotional attachment to. If they string me along one more damn time...just fucking stop it okay? Y’all making my PTSD from TXF flare up and morph into another beast altogether. This time it feels personal and even more cruel because there’s an awareness there in literally every interview given but also an underlying air of fuck you, this is the story we want to tell and we don’t care how much sense it doesn’t make or how beloved your couple is other than to keep your fan base dangling in perpetual purgatory to keep our show on the air. Just. I have trust issues created by Chris Carter and exacerbated by y’all to the point I no longer invest my time or interest in any new shows until they prove that they’re actually going to last beyond 2 or 3 episodes and that they don’t openly or covertly mock the fan base they’re seeking to establish. Please. Prove me wrong. For once.
