Pig 豬 (zhū) also means 'whole' in Chinese so it's used in phrases to wish someone safe and well for his/her entire family. - This painting is the first of a new series by Martin Hsu titled 'Garden of Impermanence' - an imperial Chinese garden reimagined as a place between life and death where the fleeting and disappearing creatures reside. A personal attempt to combine traditional Asian art with conservation efforts for endangered species in our natural world. - Pygmy Hog 姬豬 (Porcula Salvania), the smallest pig in the world, a critically endangered suid now only found in Assam, India.
