I Need Your Help.

On Monday, July 16, 2018 the theater that I grew up in burnt to the ground. It was my home away from home, and it’s one of the reasons that I’m here today.

I auditioned there for the first time when I was in fifth grade. I did it because the boy I liked was doing shows there, and I had a crush. I had no clue then that what started out as a simple decision to try and befriend my crush further would start one of the most important chunks of my life. For the next twelve years, I did theater there. I did anything and everything there. I learned how to act, I learned how to stage manage, I learned how to run the lights – but more importantly, I learned how to be okay with myself. I learned how to accept myself and love myself. I learned that it was okay to mess up, because you keep moving on. I learned that it was okay to laugh at myself.

I gained a family there that those outside of theater families could never understand. There’s a sort of bond there that lasts for the rest of your life, and right now, my theater family is hurting. Everything is gone. The building, the sets, the costumes, the props, the equipment – everything. It hurts my heart to see decades upon decades of hard work literally up in flames. They were even supposed to open up a new how in the beginning of August.

This fucking blows.

I know that I’m very secretive about my identity (no last names, no location, no age, etc), so please understand that this is so so so important to me. This is me putting my heart on the line and asking for your help. We want to rebuild, but it’s going to take two million dollars to do so.

So here’s where you come in – requests are still closed, however, if you donate to the GoFundMe and can provide proof of said donation, I’ll write you a oneshot. Three to five thousand ish words (at least that much, potentially more) in exchange for you helping out a hurting community. The general rules apply when it comes to requests (no writing kids relationships, I reserve the right to ask for another plot if I don’t feel comfortable, etc). All you have to do is send me a screenshot confirming that you donated and we’ll discuss what you’re looking for.

@cooking-with-ignis is one of my closest friends and they’re doing something similar over there. We became friends in that green room. We spent hours on stage together. Without that theater, I wouldn’t have met one of my best friends. I wouldn’t have figured out what I want to do with my life. I wouldn’t have met people and grown and experienced some of the highlights of my life. This theater meant so much to so many people, and I can’t imagine depriving future generations the chance to become a part of such a family.

The theater I essentially grew up in burned down today, and since then I’ve been trying to think of ways to help the group that shaped my childhood.

I have been thinking of officially ending this project for awhile because it is expensive to purchase some of the ingredients and I’m often very busy between work and school. But this is something I am very passionate about.

Here’s where the proposition comes in. The group has made a GoFundMe, and for every donation that any of my followers make I pledge to create and post another recipe.

All you have to do is donate and then either put “CWI” in your comment or send a screenshot to me on this blog. Thank you in advance to anyone who chooses to help, it means the world to me.
