Sasuke is definitely in love with/trauma bonded to/obsessive/possessive of Naruto in CSE.

I want to write a prequel of CSE to really dive deeper into their childhood, but essentially Naruto is the only friend Sasuke has after he looses his parents. Not only friend but Naruto is also kind of the person who takes care of Sasuke.

Sasuke was raised in an affluent household, good family life, and when they die and he goes into the foster system, he is completely unprepared for the type of life that Naruto was basically born into.

So until their about 17/18, Sasuke is incredibly dependent on Naruto. It’s kind of SasuNaru vs the world, platonically.

Then at 18 Sasuke not only inherits his money, but Naruto is kind of having a come to Jesus moment after they go to jail. Naruto decides he wants to go to college and join regular society and that is a huge threat to how Sasuke fundamentally views his whole life until that point.

So selfishly, Sasuke does everything he can to wrap Naruto back up into his life. He uses his money to manipulate him, uses drugs and alcohol to try and sway him from a straight and narrow lifestyle and even uses Sakura as a way to torture Naruto so he will feel lonely and inadequate and in Sasuke warped mind he thinks that will draw Naruto closer to him.

Because every move Naruto makes to become dependent from Sasuke feels to Sasuke like he his losing the one person he loves in life. But Sasuke cannot admit to himself that he loves Naruto, and in his own self hate with that fact, is definitely and abusive and toxic friend to him.

CSE Sasuke HATES Hinata because not only does he know she loves Naruto truly but she is actually good for him and can admit that she wants to be with him. And both of those things are something Sasuke can’t or won’t do.

Case in point when Naruto is at his lowest point mental health wise, Sasuke not only ignores it but basically goaded him into committing suicide. In his fucked up mind, he didn’t want Naruto to die, he wanted Naruto to hit rock bottom so he would need Sasuke like Sasuke once needed him.

Conversely, when Naruto does attempt it, Hinata goes above and beyond for Naruto, finally overcoming her own shyness and issues to confess to Naruto that she loves him but also does everything in her power to take care of him and make him better.

It’s pretty apparent to Sasuke that he fucked up, and instead of being a normal person and realize he was wrong, try to make amends and get help on his own, decides to just push Naruto away. Naruto, who also grew up with only Sasuke, would never let his friendship with him die, keeps pursuing it which makes tensions worse and worse until what you see in CSE in which Sasuke is terrible to him and hates Hinata with his whole heart.

ShikaHina for sure! I think they are soooooooooooooooooooooo underrated. I head cannon a very happy relationship between his mom and Hina too.

I actually had an FF idea about Hinata dating Naruto but he kept blowing her off while working for Kakashi and Hokage training and shit so Shikamaru would end up talking to her or doing something with her and they slowly fall in love.

I think Hinata and Shikamaru would have the cutest, cozy lazy days and I think she would be so sweet while motivating him to do things (where as in boruto temari yells at him a lot)

I also think she would be really good friends with the rest of Team 10. Especially with Kurenai and Mirai. I definitely HC ShikaHina being designated Mirai babySitters
