Noriaki Kakyoin. His age will remain ambiguous until admin can draw children. He still doesn't know everything about what happened in Egypt, but he's trying to find out. Please interact with him!

Happy Birthseason to all my Kakyoins out there

From July 23 to August 22, it’s Leo season, a.k.a. our season since Araki loves playing games. Hope you all have a good one this year.

( This specific Kakyoin’s birthday is July 26! )

At this point, Nori could share his counterpart’s enthusiasm as they set their papers down.

“That’s a great idea! But what or who should we draw though…?”

The other boy seemed to have met so many people already and he wasn’t sure if he would know one of them if the other suggested one of their names.

“OH! I know! We can try drawing one of the older us’s. I guess any of them would be fine right?”

"Mhm!" *Then he thought about that a little more. Some of the older thems were quite different.*

"We should draw how we think we'll look when we're that old. And not like... That one who's like a vampire or something?" *He met that one. He was okay but... He was a vampire. If one of them drew him and the other didn't, that would be very different.*

The boy visibly perked up when he heard that this Jotaro person has a friend like they do. “Oh, I’ve seen him before, I didn’t know they can go so far from each other though…?” He was sure he’d realize it if there were two people there, but at the time he was sure he only saw one giant purple person.

“I think I saw a cat version of him too this one time. He was a really big fluffy cat!” Now that Nori thinks about it, he seem to have met a lot of animal versions of people older hims seem to know.

“But if this Jotaro guy has a spirit friend too, maybe that’s why all our older me’s really like him.” Wasn’t that the way to make friends? Since no one else would really understand if they couldn’t see his friend.

“So who else have you met? I’ve met this guy who was French and had really tall hair that sticks all the way up. His name was Poln..Pol…Pol-Pol. He has a spirit friend too but I haven’t seen it yet. I only sorta know because he can see him.” He indicated to his green companion who has now taken to resting his head on top on Nori’s head.

“I met Polnareff too! His looks like a shiny knight named Silver Chariot! He’s really cool and I drew a picture of him!”

*He rummaged his bag and eventually pulled out a couple crayon drawings of Silver Chariot posing*

“I met a girl Polnareff too. She said she wasn’t always a girl but she was happier being a girl.”

*He went back to rummaging his bag*

“I’ve never seen Star Platinum away from a Jotaro before, though… How does that work?”

*He ended up pulling out a whole bunch of drawings of various people and stands he’s met*

“This one is Heaven’s Door. He’s with Rohan, who’s a mangaka. I met three of them! Some Rohans are bad with kids. Oh, and this is Hermit Purple. I don’t know why Hermit Purple is a lot of vines, but Josephine says it’s hers. This is Mr. Ice! I haven’t seen his friend but he froze yogurts at a party I went to!” *He had the pictures out now, he might as well explain them*

*Then he suddenly thought of something*

“Do you draw too?”

The other boy really did know a lot more people than he does! He hoped his look of confusion wasn’t too obvious as his doppelganger listed off the names of everyone he’s met. Leaning in closer to look at the drawings other him started pulling out.

He almost rolled his eyes when the other asked if he draws though but managed to stop himself from doing that. “Of course! I love to draw!” Nori then pulled out a box of crayons from his own bag and a couple of empty papers. “I got a new box of crayons a while ago. I didn’t use a lot of papers today so we can share.”

*The child was too engrossed in sharing his experiences with other Stand users to notice the other Kakyoin's confusion.*

*He grinned when the other boy pulled out the art supplies.*

"Awesome!"

*Two of them meant twice the drawing, and there were so many possibilities*

"I know! We should draw the same thing and see how differently we draw!"

“Uh-huh,” he answered, “One of them was a woman. There are so many of us…”

*This had him thinking about how they were different and what they had in common. Which then got him thinking about what many of his other selves had said about the future. Did this one know? Would they have the same future?*

*Hierophant leaned forward, examining the other Kakyoin and Hierophant as if looking at them would provide answers.*

The boy recalled meeting a girl version of themselves as well. There really are a lot of them.

Nori instinctively leaned back slightly as the other boy’s green companion inched forward ever so slightly while staring at them.

“Um…so what do you think…? Isn’t it kinda weird to meet so many of our older selves? I’ve already sorta gotten used to it…sorta.” He paused for a moment before continuing, “Do you think we’ll turn into any one of them?”

*The boy pondered this for a moment*

“I think… If we met the ones we’ll be when we’re older, we would know. Because then I would remember meeting myself as a kid when I’m older, and I would definitely say something about that! And… Many of the older us’s I met fell in love with a Jotaro and I really don’t wanna marry a Jotaro when I’m older.”

*He scrunched up his face and stuck his tongue out at the thought. Jotaros were stiff and weird and gross. They weren’t bad, and most of them could be nice sometimes, but this little boy really didn’t understand how the other hims liked Jotaro so much.*

Nori went through what the other boy said in his head once more before nodding slowly. “Yeah, that makes sense!”

He couldn’t help but laugh at the expression the other Kakyoin made in response to his own words. “I don’t think I’ve met a lot of older us’s yet then. I met someone, this lady, who’s in love with an older us. I didn’t really hear of any Jotaros there.” His placed a finger on his chin in thought, at least he didn’t recall hearing the name pop up anyway.

“But I think it’s good that the older us’s manage to find someone anyway. I’m sure they’re happy then, right?”

*He thought for a moment, then nodded*

"Yeah. They seemed happy." *He still didn't particularly like Jotaros*

"Are you sure you never met a Jotaro? They're really tall and they wear hats that kinda... Stick to their hair." *Hierophant unwound up and raised a hand parallel to the ground to demonstrate roughly how tall a Jotaro was*

"They also smell gross. Like smoke or salt. Or both. There's this one library where a whole bunch of them go to sometimes. It's really really noisy when they do that." *Hierophant unstretched, hovering beside the child*

"There's one good thing though. Most of them have a spirit friend like we do!" *He wasn't used to calling them Stands* "He's big and purple and his name is Star Platinum! He's really good at hugs."

*The child looked pensively at the other child standing before him. He’d met other versions of himself before, but never one the same age as him. Until now, they’d always been older. This was new. Would this one be like him? Would he be different?*

*The first thing the boy did was have Hierophant emerge and wrap around him. He found little else more comfortable than having his friend — his Stand, as he was told they were called — entwined around him, and he wanted to see the other boy’s Hierophant too.*

“Hi. I’m Noriaki Kakyoin.”

It was like looking into a mirror, everything was the same right down to that inexplicable bunch of hair that fell down the side of his…their…? His. Yeah, his face.

His attention was immediately brought to the green figure that emerged seemingly out of nowhere and wrapped around his other self. And almost on instinct, his own friend appeared from behind him, though instead of entwining around his own body, he seemed to slowly peek out from behind before rising just a little higher as if to get a better view of the other boy.

The boy blinked in surprise, though he had no idea why, when the other finally introduced himself.

“I guess there’s no need to say it two times.” Nori couldn’t help but giggle. “This is the first time I’ve met a me who’s the same age.”

*The kid smiled at his other self and his Hierophant Green. His own stand waved a greeting at its doppleganger, still wrapped around the boy.*

"I haven't met any my age before either, but I did meet a lot of Jotaros. Do you know them?"

*Through his many meetings, he discovered but one consistency: Star Platinum was much better at hugs than Jotaro.*

Just wondering, but where DID you get a hat that molds with your hair so flawlessly? I tried cutting out a back of a hat, reshaping the back, and colouring it, but I still can't get anywhere near the same effect.

Avatar

…but please. It’s just a hat. I don’t know why it looks like this when I put it on. I probably just need a haircut or something. Ask me about literally anything else, okay?@badlydrawnkidkakyoin

“Okay. Why are so many older mes dating Jotaros? Is one of them dating you?”

*When you tell a child he can ask literally anything else* *You are not allowed to be surprised at what the child asks next*

No. I’m not dating Kakyoin. Or anyone for that matter yet. It didn’t work out that way in my timeline. At least I don’t think it does. Who can say?

Basically, kid… for every choice we make, there exists an alternate reality where a different choice was made. Sometimes, at least very recently, these “alternate selves” rejoin other timelines. Time isn’t linear. It’s complicated. I try not to think about it. But to answer your question, I guess in some timelines, the experiences Kakyoin and I went through together, and the choices we made brought us closer than in other timelines. …but don’t let it scare you, okay? No matter what, nothing in your future is predetermined. You will always be free to make your own decisions. Live your life as you see fit, and whatever happens happens. @badlydrawnkidkakyoin

*The child nodded. He supposed this made sense to him.*

“That’s why some of the other mes are so different.” *he stated plainly*

*He sort of guessed that time was complicated, considering how many of his older selves he’d met*

“Star Platinum is good at hugs, but I don’t think I’m going to date any Jotaros when I grow up.”

*The child recognized a grocery sack disaster of a man when he saw one*

-I mean… yeah, you have your whole life ahead of you, kid. Just keep… doing your thing.

Yare yare daze.

*It was at this moment that the child decided that this was indeed a Jotaro who’d be fun to bother.*

“So how come Star hugs better than you?”

Maybe because Star hugs people PERIOD. I don’t really like to be… touched. I usually get him to do it for me. …you have any other burning questions, or are we done here? @badlydrawnkidkakyoin

“Mhm! One more thing. One of my babysitters said you have octopuses. Can I see them?”

*Meanwhile, Hierophant waves at Star. Star Platinum > Jotaro*

((Fleshbud Event))

As Jotaro’s surroundings slowly came into focus, so did the burning sensation in his forehead.  How long had he been out? Various painful sensations crept through his entire body, and he winced with every movement. The pain wasn’t helping his memory. He couldn’t think clearly enough to remember how he ended up here. All he could focus on was how sore he was. His head burned, his body ached… he felt like he had been beaten and thrown against a wall in some feverish fit. He couldn’t open his eyes. It hurt to move, to think, to do anything. But as soon as the pain filled him, it began to reside, and was replaced with a familiar glow that began in his forehead, and started to flow throughout his body, erasing any discomfort he was feeling along the way. “Hamon?”  He recognized the sensation. From when Joseph would occasionally treat his wounds as a child… and more recently, when Melody had used it to control their breathing when they were trapped in the Air Supplena submarine some time ago.  Melody… wasn’t she just here? Wasn’t he just talking to her? It was coming back to him, slowly, and Jotaro felt his stomach drop.

His mind was still fuzzy on the details, but he was beginning to piece together what had happened before he lost consciousness… and he felt sick. As his surroundings came into focus, they only confirmed what he was dreading.  His great grandfather, Jorge Joestar, was there, apparently in combat against the all-too familiar face of Dio Brando, alive, and powerful as ever.  Kakyoin’s body lay in a heap on the floor, as through he had been tossed aside by some great force, and Jotaro couldn’t tell what kind of condition he was in from where he was sitting. His instincts drove him to Kakyoin. Dio was focused on Jorge at the moment. Maybe something could be done. Jotaro dropped to the floor and pulled himself to where Kakyoin was lying. He turned his friend over and examined his injuries. He was still breathing. Jotaro’s worst fears subsided. Finally his eyes came to rest on his forehead, and the damned lump of tainted flesh that started the whole thing. Jotaro bit his lip and took a deep breath. It had been some time since he’d last dealt with one of these… but what choice did he have? @badlydrawnk4kyoin @diosconventionaladventure @badly-drawn-jorge-joestar @occiferhigashikata @badlydrawndanieldarby @badlydrawnkidkakyoin @almostdailyjosukes @dailyjota-kak @dailyyoungmrskujo @regularlyscheduledjolynemom @nightlyvampirekakyoin

Kakyoin groaned, sitting up and shifting the rubble from Jorge and DIO’s battle. When he looked up he was met with a familiar face.

The shock of hamon and impact of the flight Kakyoin had been sent through the air on had temporarily disabled the fleshbud’s charismatic abilities, but there was no telling when it would take over his mind again.

“Heh, I’ve caused a lot of trouble, haven’t I? Sorry Jotaro. I should have known better to let someone as badass as you befriend a trouble-magnet like me.

I’ve already made problems for you two times before.”

Kakyoin scoffed at himself, looking away from Jotaro with guilt. He nervously parted his bangs to their former glory, but froze when his fingers touched the fleshbud.

“I let myself get taken over too easily. Again. We have to remove this before I make any more mistakes.”

“Please Jotaro. It’s all my fault, and I don’t know what I’ll do if DIO takes me over again.”

*The child looked down at the scene from a balcony above in contempt.* “Wow. I thought adults were supposed to know how to do things. And you have Stands. What are you even doing anyways?”

*The young Kakyoin summoned his stand, wrapping it around him and having it latch onto the chandelier, which he used his stand to grapple to, then climbed on.*

*An Emerald Splash shot between Jotaro and the older Kakyoin*

“What, did you two forget what you’re supposed to be doing?”

@badlydrawnk4kyoin @ all the other people in this part of Dio’s mansion hell if i know

“Kakyoin…”  Kakyoin’s guilt reflected his own. Almost too strongly. Jotaro understood how he felt, and the sincerity of his words stung him.  But nevertheless, Jotaro knew that there would be a time and a place to make amends.  This was not that time or place.  Time was something they did not have right now.  Jotaro took his friend by the shoulders, his eyes burning. “Kakyoin, look at me,” he barked, gripping him firmly, “…this is NOT your fault, and I think you know that deep down. Everything that happened was Dio’s doing, you understand?” His face was flush with anger. He was speaking to himself as much as he was to Kakyoin.  “The minute you start blaming yourself for what happened here, he’s won. You aren’t going to give up on yourself that easily. I’m not letting you do that.” He carefully brushed Kakyoin’s hair up out of his face, exposing the bud. He drew out Star Platinum, who cautiously gripped it in his fingertips.  “We’ll have all the time we need for apologies and shit later… right now… I need you to stay absolutely still.”

The child seemed to appear out of nowhere. After narrowly dodging the assult, Jotaro looked up to see the youthful shadow of his friend perched atop the chandelier, his eyes ablaze with Hierophant Green’s energy. “OF ALL THE FUCKING THINGS,” Jotaro cursed in his head. He only needed a few seconds to remove the older Kakyoin’s bud, but with the child here, he wouldn’t even have that.  “KID, I KNOW YOU CAN HEAR ME IN THERE. YOU’VE GOTTA FIGHT IT. FOR JUST A FEW SECONDS. WE CAN HELP YOU, BUT YOU NEED TO LISTEN TO ME.” The child’s eyes burned, and all Jotaro could do was hope his words reached him. There was no way to know when Dio’s influence would reclaim his friend, and if that were to happen again, his chances of stopping all this would grow infinitely more difficult.  Time was running out. @badlydrawnk4kyoin @diosconventionaladventure @badlydrawnkidkakyoin

The kid knew he wouldn’t have to stall for too long before the older him remembered his purpose. Until that happened, he could keep them on their toes. If they got hit, it was their fault for failing anyways.

“Fight what? I’m going to fight you if you keep saying nonsense.” Help him? Not likely. First they warned him to stay away from Dio, then asked him to join Dio and now what? Fight something they just expected him to know without explaining? Dio was the only reliable authority. The only adult who actually knew what he was doing.

Dio’s hold over the child was complete. Words from other, ‘unreliable’ adults would not affect him. The child’s hold on the chandelier was similarly sturdy. He was planning on staying up there for as long as possible.

He just had to wait a little longer and Dio would handle the rest.

“Why are you dressed up like that?”

*Hierophant ducked a little lower, peering over the kid’s head.*

*Something was wrong*

“Just trying something different~

Hey, so what d'you wanna do while I babysit ya?”

Kakyoin brushed his messy bangs aside with his hand. The kid seemed curious but it looked like Hierophant wasn’t convinced. Kakyoin would need to try harder.

“It looks… Kinda silly, actually.”

*Though Hierophant didn’t blink, he was definitely staring*

*The child looked pensive for a moment.* “I wanna draw something.”

Kakyoin furrowed his brows at his younger self. How unusual, being insulted by your younger self.

He stood up, pulling a pen out of an inside pocket of his vest and handing it to the kid.

“Go nuts.”

Kakyoin felt the small Hierophant’s eyes on him the whole time. The stand was getting more suspicious by the moment.

*Hierophant refused to take its eyes off the older Kakyoin. The child noticed the older him looking at the wary stand*

“…We’re not used to your new clothes.” *He said this complete straight-faced, hoping the older him wouldn’t question it*

*He took the pen and pulled out a piece of paper. He started with drawing Hierophant. He liked drawing Hierophant. But instead of drawing his own Hierophant, he drew his older self’s stand from the last time he’d seen him.*

Kakyoin ignored the smaller stand and watched his younger self draw. He was pretty talented, for being able to draw the grown up Hierophant from memory.

“Yeah, I’m just trying something new. A lot of people don’t really like the look, so I’m probably gonna switch back soon. Hey, that’s a pretty good drawing~”

“I like drawing Hierophant.” *His own Hierophant was still watching the older Kakyoin*

*The child looked up at his older sef’s outfit* “Yeah, I like your other one better.”

Kakyoin smooths his hair back to how it was before and sits down next to the kid. He takes out another pen and a memo pad and starts drawing the kid’s stand. He just had to wait long enough for DIO to arrive and everything would be taken care of. The kid was too weak to fight the vampire off by himself. @diosconventionaladventure

*knock knock*

DIO was used to manipulating adults. How hard could a child be? Especially a child version of someone he’d turned… twice.

“I have a delivery for one Noriaki Kakyoin.”

Both Kakyoins looked up. “You wanna go get it, buddy?” @badlydrawnkidkakyoin @diosconventionaladventure

*He’d heard that voice somewhere. He knew that voice. It was the same voice of that lawyer Dio.*

*But from the way the older him was acting, it probably wasn’t lawyer Dio, and he’d been warned about avoiding Dios. Somehow, he doubted this one was here for a card game.*

“It’s your house. I think the delivery’s for you.”

*Hierophant was on guard. Two imperceptibly thin tentacles slid from underneath Noriaki and towards the door. He was scared, and he’d never fought before. But he was as ready as he could be in the circumstances.*

“Haha, of course. But please, don’t be mean to our guest~” The older Kakyoin used his stand against the Kid, tying the two together with thin strands. Kakyoin moved toward the door and let DIO in. @diosconventionaladventure @badlydrawnkidkakyoin

“You must be the young Kakyoin I’ve heard so much about~” DIO’s voice filled the room with an icy air. Letting himself in, he casually glanced around. He locked eyes with the child. “How’d you like to be part of a family with your older self?” @badlydrawnk4kyoin @badlydrawnkidkakyoin

*Proverbial red flags were popping everywhere the moment he felt the other Hierophant’s touch. As if he weren’t wary enough.*

*For a moment, he was almost captivated by Dio’s sweet tone and gentle words, but the grasp of a green hand brought him back to reality*

*He tried to run, but the older Hierophant held him in place. Seems he had no choice* “D-don’t…”

*He had Hierophant Emerald Splash his bindings and Dio and he ran, looking for a back door*

DIO was in front of him at all times. Stopping time whenever the kid ran. “I’m a powerful man, Kakyoin. And I don’t like being told no.” DIO’s firm hands grabbed the child by the collar. “I thought you’d join willingly. But I can see we’ll have to do this differently.” @badlydrawnk4kyoin @badlydrawnkidkakyoin

*Knowing that Dio was stopping time didn’t help the child much. He had no way to counter. But giving in wasn’t something he was willing to do.*

*He kicked and flailed and screamed. Bloody murder did he scream.*

*Hierophant lunged at Dio, trying to get inside him and shred him from within.*

*He yelled at his older self, grabbing at Dio’s hands and kicking futilely.* “Why?! Why are you doing this?! Didn’t he almost kill you?!”

“Did he? Hmm, I seem to have forgotten~

Life as DIO’s servant has been quite a bit more forgiving than that of a school teacher. I mean, I’ve earned a whole lot more respect and power, and it’s not so boring. don’t you want that? Wouldn’t it be great for people to finally fear and respect your power~?”

If there was one thing DIO despised more than Joestars, it had to have been children.

“If I release you, will you behave?”

*Tears streaked down the child’s face*

“Let me go! Please…”

*Hierophant stopped thrashing*

DIO Released the child.

“Good choice…”

DIO’s cold stare pierced the kid’s very soul.

“He’s right, with me, people will respect you. People will want to be you. You’ll be free.”

*The child turned away and ran the moment he was releasaed as Hierophant started up his thrashing again*

*Running felt wrong. Pointless. He wanted to stop and listen but he knew, he knew he shouldn’t.*

*He didn’t know where he was going. He was tired. He was crying. Did he need to cry? He could just stop. Stop running, stop crying.*

*But he didn’t.*

The child was back in the room with Kakyoin and DIO.

“Stop attacking us before I have to make you stop.”

DIO’s charisma was certainly there, but a threat from him was never a good sound.

“Kakyoin, restrain him.”

Kakyoin gently but firmly grabbed the kid’s shoulder, like a parent about to scold their child. “Please stop running. You’re not only making this hard on yourself, but harder for us too. We’re strong, and that’s a fact. But you could be stronger if you joined us~ You wouldn’t have to be so scared.” That last word echoed in the nearly empty room. Kakyoin’s honeyed words hung in the air like a dragonfly over a pond in the summer. Gently. Gracefully. Without malice. @diosconventionaladventure @badlydrawnkidkakyoin

*Tears were now flowing freely from the child’s eyes*

*Hierophant left Dio and receded back into the kid*

*He was exhausted, caught between his older self’s words, Dio’s threat, and his own tears*

*This had to be a nightmare. How could it be anything else?*

*He fell to the ground and buried his face in his hands, sobbing.*

“Shhhh~ There’s nothing to be afraid of child.”

DIO’s attitude was completely different than it had been not even a minute prior.

Something seemed… Calming about him now.

Almost like nothing had ever been wrong.

“Come with us… we’ll take good care of you~”

All the kid saw was DIO’s outstretched hand and serene expression.

What he didn’t see was the tendril-like fleshbud being produced.

“Everything’s going to be okay. There’s nothing to be afraid of anymore.”

*The child looked up at him as the tears on his cheeks began to dry*

*He couldn’t help but believe his words*

*If it was a nightmare, it had to be over, right?*

*He took Dio’s hand.*

“All your problems will go away in a second.”

DIO pushed the fleshbud into the child’s forehead.

“Now. Who do you serve?”

DIO of course knew the answer. But he’d never turned a child before, he wanted to hear him say it.

*He smiled calmly*

“You, Dio. I serve you.”

*And something about the words just felt right.*

DIO chuckled before letting his usual devilish grin return.

“That’s right. You serve DIO.”

"So, Dio... What can I do for you?"
