Khalsa Aid is fucking amazing. They're who you want to donate to, period.

This is one of the few cases where I advocate donating to organisations rather than individuals, because right now, in India, the breakdown of medical infrastructure is so bad that money won't help you. The effort is being carried out now by volunteers who are coordinating resources.

Khalsa Aid is a very old and proven and beloved organisation with absolutely no ties to the hindu government. In fact they have extensive ties to the still-ongoing farmer's protests. They are effective, established, trusted, and sound.

No but Lena tagging along on the mission stepping off the ship in thick glasses and a soft sweater. and Kara and Alex both falling over themselves to impress her with no idea why.

Kara: I’m Kara and I can fly!

Alex: Well I have a… mini van.

Lena: what are you twelve? give me the keys.“

*Three near misses later…*

Alex: Do you know how to drive?

Lena: ….no

I just can’t understand how anyone could hate Kelly. There are so many vocal Kelly haters and I just can’t. I mean, sure, everyone has different tastes, but Kelly?! She’s so sweet & helpful & supportive.

Tonight on one of the live podcasts someone said she made Alex a weak character.

I thought about that & while we do get to see Alex’s vunerable side more often when she’s with Kelly, we still get plenty of badass Danvers. I feel like Kelly has really helped round Alex out as a character.

I’m always so shocked when people prefer Sawyer to Kelly. Sawyer was such a mess. I go back & watch those episodes sometimes & realize how absolutely wrong she was for Alex. (Just my personal opinion) She & Kara always butting heads. So abrasive with everyone. I’m sure if she would’ve stayed maybe we would’ve worked through some of that. I feel like that relationship was a product of the Kriesberg relationship team though. It felt so unhealthy to me, and Kelly + Alex may not have all that drama, but I like that. I like that it’s healthy & positive & Alex can be all silly romantic on Valentine’s & not get screamed at. (Yes, I understand why that happened. It was still hella unhealthy) I feel like Alex was always walking on egg shells around her. Never sure what might set her off. (Again, just my interpretation.) She can relax with Kelly. Just BE Alex.

But, like I said, different strokes for different folks. No ill will toward anyone who likes the other. I just don’t get hating such a lovely character.

I think, besides the obvious and horrible racist side of this fandom; is the fact that Alex’s storyline peaked back when she came out.

For all the things before and after she did, the coming out story is her more important part.

And somehow some people associated that with Maggie.

But in overall the relationship between Maggie and Alex was also sidelined and treat poorly.

Kelly brings a sense of stability and peace that Alex didn’t have before. She is also amazing with everything she does.

The biggest issue with Kelly is that they haven’t don’t anything with her storyline and the storyline with Alex, but that’s not Kelly’s fault, is more from the writers.

Even me, a person that loves Kelly as a character but prefer Alex with Sam; thinks that Kelly is the best addition they could ever made.

I hope with all the new storyline she is gonna have they do her justice.

Also, they finally do something with the Alex wanted a baby plot.

I’ve had this in my drafts for a while, and I 100% agree. It doesn’t surprise me that so many people still ship Sanvers, because Alex’s storyline with Maggie was so much richer than what we’ve been given with Alex and Kelly. They took so much time and care with Alex’s coming out, and a lot of people related to that. It’s little wonder that Alex and Kelly feel so distant now, when Alex herself has been made so internally inconsistent.

There’s still time to enrich Kelly’s storyline(s), and to further build Kelly and Alex’s relationship. I hope they take advantage of it, because Kelly has so much unexplored potential.
