i’ve been really bad at activity over here so i’m archiving these blogs and moving the characters so i’ll pay them more attention. relationships will stay intact but all threads will be discontinued unless we talk about continuing them. love you guys <3

Loving cowboys and hating tragedies is a sticky situation to find yourself in.
Remember that you are responsible for your muse’s actions. You can’t say “it is what the character would do” or “I have no control over them”. For better or worse you chose this muse. You knew what they were like from the beginning and you choose how and when to interact with others. Dark topics are fine. Evil muses are fine. Just don’t try to put the responsibility on a fictional character that, again, you chose to write. You’re not possessed by your muse. Take responsibility for when you hurt people, because that’s you. Take credit for the things you write well, because that’s you. Just something to keep in mind.

What is a trope you’ve always wanted to subvert?
I always try to subvert the trope where a character is only neurodivergent coded to make them seem inhuman. The way I write Cole, his perspective on the world is colored by his spirithood but his autism is entirely human. As he gets more human after his personal quest I exaggerate his autistic traits more rather than less. This is very important to me because I’m autistic and I know that my brain is no less human than anyone else’s. I’m a whole person with all of my autistic traits, and so is Cole.
What is an aspect of your muse that you’ve wanted to explore the most?
Cole describes the boy who died in the White Spire as “the real Cole” and calls physically manifesting himself “making himself real”. I’d love to explore how Cole views “reality” and “unreality” in relation to the Fade, the physical world, and his own identity.
