‘The Ghetto Tarot’: Haitian artists transform classic tarot deck into stunning real life scenes:

Welcome to the Ghetto Tarot, a project from award-winning documentary photographer Alice Smeets and a group of Haitian artists known as Atis Rezistans. The idea was to take the classic Rider-Waite tarot deck of 78 cards and create a photographic version of each card using settings and objects in the vibrant ghetto of Haiti.

As Smeets says, “The spirit of the Ghetto Tarot project is the inspiration to turn negative into positive while playing. The group of artists ‘Atiz Rezistans’ use trash to create art with their own visions that are a reflection of the beauty they see hidden within the waste. They are claiming the word ‘Ghetto,’ thus freeing themselves of its depreciating undertone and turning it into something beautiful.”

If your regular everyday clothes* were put on a mannequin, and placed in a group of other mannequins that are dressed in regular street clothes of your region, could the people who know you spot the mannequin who is "you" from clothes alone?

*if you are of an unusual size or build, assume for the sake of this thought experiment that they've found clothing items that are otherwise identical to yours, but able to fit to a standard mannequin

I’m noticing an increase in new fic writers on AO3 who…uh…mayy not know how to format their fics correctly..so here is a quick and VERY important tip

Using a random fic of mine as example..

Idk how many times I’ve read a good fic summary and been so excited to read before clicking on it and being met with an ugly wall of text. When I see a huge text brick with zero full line breaks my eyes blur and I just siiiigh bc either I click out immediately or I grin and bear it…it’s insufferable!

If a new character speaks, you need a line break. If you notice a paragraph is becoming too large, go ahead and make a line break and/or maybe reconfigure the paragraph to flow better. I’m not a pro writer or even a huge fic writer but…please…ty…

I believe this is a formatting issue that occurs when writing in google docs first and not changing paragraph formatting. When fics are written in google docs with default formatting, the copy and paste will either look like the pic on the right or look like double spacing (which I also hate)

This can be rectified by going into Format > Line & Paragraph Spacing > Add space after paragraph.

When you copy and paste into ao3, Ao3 uses whatever HTML is occurring in its source. The image above and on the right doesn’t occur if you’re manually writing in the Rich Text box.

I’ve once run into an issue where even after highlighting the work and changing Format, nothing has changed. I don’t know what causes it, but the way I fixed it was backspacing until two “separate” paragraphs become one and then hitting the enter key to separate them again.

I'm gonna take this moment to show y'all the Google docs AO3 script, where you copy+paste and drop it right in the AO3 HTML editor and not only are your paragraph breaks intact, but so is all your other formatting. Instructions here:
