I THINK ABOUT THIS ALL THE TIMEEEEEE LIKE IT JUST STARTED AS A HABIT BECAUSE HE WAS GETTING TIRED OF SHOVING IT OFF HIS WORK DURING LESSONS AND BEGAN PLAYING WITH THE ENDS AND WHEN HE REALISED SHE WASN’T MAKING FUN OF HIM/STOPPING HIM HE STARTED PLAITING IT AND TWIRLING IT IN BETWEEN HIS FINGERS WHEN CONCENTRATING

AND I CAN JUST IMAGINE ZAY WATCHING FROM BEHIND HIM LESSON AFTER LESSON AND THEN ONE DAY JUST REACHING FORWARDS AND PLAYING WITH LUCAS’ HAIR AND WHEN LUCAS TURNS AROUND TO QUESTION HIM ZAY JUST GRINS AND GOES “OH SORRY, IS MAYA THE ONLY ONE ALLOWED TO PLAY WITH YOUR HAIR?” LORD SAVE MY SOUL
