I've been resource gathering for YEARS so now I am going to share my dragons hoard

Floorplanner. Design and furnish a house for you to use for having a consistent background in your comic or anything! Free, you need an account, easy to use, and you can save multiple houses.

Comparing Heights. Input the heights of characters to see what the different is between them. Great for keeping consistency. Free.

Magma. Draw online with friends in real time. Great for practice or hanging out. Free, paid plan available, account preferred.

Smithsonian Open Access. Loads of free images. Free.

SketchDaily. Lots of pose references, massive library, is set on a timer so you can practice quick figure drawing. Free.

SculptGL. A sculpting tool which I am yet to master, but you should be able to make whatever 3d object you like with it. free.

Pexels. Free stock images. And the search engine is actually pretty good at pulling up what you want.

Figurosity. Great pose references, diverse body types, lots of "how to draw" videos directly on the site, the models are 3d and you can rotate the angle, but you can't make custom poses or edit body proportions. Free, account option, paid plans available.

Line of Action. More drawing references, this one also has a focus on expressions, hands/feet, animals, landscapes. Free.

Animal Photo. You pose a 3d skull model and select an animal species, and they give you a bunch of photo references for that animal at that angle. Super handy. Free.

Height Weight Chart. You ever see an OC listed as having a certain weight but then they look Wildly different than the number suggests? Well here's a site to avoid that! It shows real people at different weights and heights to give you a better idea of what these abstract numbers all look like. Free to use.

Why I am NOT an Austen Heroine:

-If I was Anne Elliot, I would have married Charles Musgrove in a heartbeat just to get away from my family

-If I was Elinor Dashwood, I would have ugly cried when Lucy Steele told me she was engaged to Edward until I couldn't breath

-If I was Fanny Price, I would have married Henry Crawford just to get away from Mansfield Park

-If I were Elizabeth Bennet, I would have probably just said yes to Darcy (highly loss adverse and very concerned about my age)

-If I were Emma, I wouldn't have lasted until Box Hill to insult Miss Bates. It would have happened years ago and far more often

-If I were Catherine Morland.... oh... at 17? Oh... yeah, girlies I would totally accuse my crush's dad of murder because I was reading too many Gothic novels...

I AM a Jane Austen Heroine

I’m too hippie-ish for my family sometimes

I'm too flowerchild to be put up with.

Literally if they saw the inside of my brain sometimes, they'd think I'm actually ridiculous and never take me seriously again.

She asked if he took put the recycling and his heart lowkey just fluttered... like... lol OK...

This blackpilled landlord is really about to fall in love with his tenant (technically also his platonic fiancé-of-convenience) solely because of her cleaning and recycling habits and the bonus fact that his cat likes her.

Amazing. I'm SO here for this fanfic plot.

New rule everyone in the us is assigned a different Bible verse to be theirs. I'm tired of everyone signing their emails off with Joshua 24:15. Some of y'all are going to have to settle for a begat to hang on your wall alongside your "live laugh love" woodcut. Sorry

I am. Emphatically okay with this outcome

Oh I like this one!

Thus the Jews smote all their enemies with the stroke of the sword, and slaughter, and destruction, and did what they would unto those that hated them. Esther 9:5

Okay actually I wanted to reblog this again with a link to this interactive map where you can select the states you've been to (they also have a countries version) and get a little image of that. I've been to (or driven through/stopped in) 28 states, so here's mine:

I'm curious to see what other people's maps look like 👀

Illinois squeaked on here because I've had two layovers at the Chicago Midway Airport but man. I NEED to get properly west of the Mississippi sometime

18 states for me. I'm counting states that I've driven through as long as I actually stopped in them. Do I remember the Carolinas or Georgia? No, but I was small enough when we drove through them that I'm certain we stopped. Technically we have also driven through Illinois, but we didn't step foot out of the car at any point (my dad very deliberately made sure we got gas and did all that before leaving Indiana), so it doesn't really count.

There is a non-zero chance that I'm missing a state or two, but those would be from before I turned six, so I'm not counting them.

presented without comment to the best of my memory... I've LIVED in 6 of these and visited all the others in some way or another

Man, I gotta start heading south one of these days.

I am the 1.9%

I think the only US state I’ve never so much as set foot in is Hawaii.

I know I've been to Boston and a few of the states around DC. Like we drove through there and took a ferry to Boston I think... but idk which exact states we saw.

percy has been called smart by hazel, reyna, and annabeth (twice).

to say he’s actually dumb is to disagree with those three women. and if you are disagreeing with 3 of the most knowledgeable, capable, and badass characters in the series… what are you even doing?

I am so mad at Bridgerton for not being a show I even want to watch. Like, it should be a show I'm obsessed with, instead every time I see it I just think "But why did they make it like this? What a waste."

It's like... sure, the costumes can be very pretty, and also I hate them for being so, so WRONG... sure the romance can be ~enticing, but it's so, so wrong.

It's lacking the thing that makes historical dramas enticing: historical context.

It's just a modern romance with the veneer of historical drama stereotypes used to conceal the fact that these are just basically modern characters role-playing Jane Austen, with ladies in prom dressess from 2004 and handsome British men stuffed into a cravat for ~The Aesthetic.

"But it's a fantasy"

Yeah well have you considered it should just be a historical fiction instead of using the "fantasy" umbrella to justify a totally absurd pseudohistorical setting... unless there are actually elves and faeries and dragons running about casting magic and I was simply unaware of this plot.

It just bugs me how lazy and modern it feels every time I see it. And it's feeding a nroader trend of historical dramas being absolutely devoid and bereft of historical context.

I weep.

It’s practically 2014 and you guys still don’t know how to google if an article is real or not before giving it 100,000 notes

Corn dogs are named for their traditional meat, the unicorn. As unicorns are now extinct, they can only be referred to properly as ‘Corn Dogs and not “Unicorn Dogs” as they were prior to 2009.

This is actually a common misconception! While the Unicorn Dog did exist and was discontinued following the extinction of unicorns in 2009, the Corn Dog is not a rebranding of the Unicorn Dog! The Corn Dog was created in 2003 by James H. Corn, though it remained a relatively unpopular Ohio treat until 2010 when Mr. Corn took the opportunity left by the Unicorn Dog’s exit from the market to take over the niche.

Unfortunately, you've left out a crucial detail. Corn was not the sole inventor of the Corn Dog. He was greatly aided by Jeremy L. Dog, his Yorkshire Terrier, who gave him the idea for the Corn Dog due to an accident. The pet allegedly knocked a sausage off of his dining room table and into the Batter Pot (commonplace in households at the time), then deep frying it on a stick in what was described as "an affront to God committed by one of His own creatures." Additionally, contrary to popular belief, Corn was not in the state of Ohio when he invented the Corn Dog. Rather, he was in the state of Existential Dread.

God this is a weird website.
